Thank God for one smart and honest legislator - that has to be a record! He's right, people 'won't listen' -and all of us successful professionals who manage to own large businesses, run medical practices, etc, etc are all just 'disgruntled homeowner's' when we get fed up with the scams running on happily in our own communities and country-wide. WHERE ARE ALL OUR OTHER LEGISLATORS AND WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE? I'm never going to vote for another candidate remotely connected to this BS!
HOA=CASH COWS 4 Parasitic Industies (i.e., politicians, lawyers, CAI, property management companies, landscapers, shady volunteer Board members, contractors, et al). They turn 'homeowners' into serfs and sharecroppers and should be outlawed in the free world!
Lauren Scheer run a Community Associations Institute management company. This isn't limited to Vegas. This is happening all over the United States and you will find a common thread of membership in CAI.
I'm very familiar with HOA in Vegas and they tried to foreclose on my home for a $1000 and a $500 collection fee. Then they set up a payment plan where they charged me 100% interest and $100 payment plan fee and sent me a warning for having my trash can in my driveway a day after pick up. I took their letters and rolled a fat doobie with them.
Mr. Schneider is 100% correct in suspecting the motives & behaviors of shady
HOA's. I live in Lake county Illinois & for the past 15 years I have first hand experienced how my HOA has be ridden with corruption from election fraud to treasury records disappearing.
Board members paying themselves & being on multiple other boards w/ conflicting interests.
Is there some kind agency that deals with investigating corruption in HOAs. If not , its long over due
