Unfortunately, the locos Athearn makes are not the correct NMRX units. Athearn put NMRX paint on EMD FP59PHI's, but the real train uses MP36's. True Line Train does make the MP36's however.

@mafarnz I don't really EMD FP59PHI being used, but imagine a BR Class 93 as the Rail Runner. That would be pretty extreme.

I think they sound better too even with E bells. Metrolinks P2 horns are bad too. They kill my ear drums. If the Coaster which runs to San Diego started using those gosh awful P2 hornsI would never go near the tracks again.

i get them from 2 local train hobby shops in New Mexico, there seeling like hot cakes, go to the company website that make the cars and coaches then it will say import ur zip code enter ur zip code and it will tell u hobby shops that sell them in ur town or city.

oh then ur in luck then go to trains west in abq or wig wag trains i called wig wag and trains west then have only locomotives, to order more coaches and units for ur self they will put u on a list the reserve how much u want and then u pay for them when they come in, it s due to people here in NM and railfans buying them in one week after they arrive in abq from the factory.
