  • I speak neither Japanese nor any African language, but when the lady speaks, I can hear the similarity between Japanese, which I have heard being spoken much in my life, and the the language which she is speaking in this video. The sounds, to my ears, are similar, as is the cadence.

  • because in Japanese they say "sayo nala" which means goodbye. For, afterall in Luo "Saye or Nyasaye onala" means God protects or will protect me/you etc. "Nalo" is to wrap or protect something/someone. Therefore the Japanese "Sayo nala" does mean GOODBYE, as in the Luo "oriti" (May He, God the Creator of the Universe) take care/protect you) Erokanyo or Erikanyo or even the Japanese "ERIGATO" is in fact the Luo Erokamano which means thank you.

  • but do i say

  • Macha I also liked the event in Osaka Museum.I felt quite nostalgic for hey days when i use to participate in Luo traditional dances. She as good in PAKRUOK as a some one who has spent all her life in Luo.She wonderful!

  • I saw her perfom at Osaka acquarium! She's great, and she can shake what her mama gave her quite well!!

  • lol!!!thats unbelievable!!how many of us would learn japanese culture that much?

  • i love this lady!! i met her yestarday at Keniya Embeassy in Japan,

She organized Keniyan dance crass workshop for ordinary people,

and i saw her strong passion and so much love for people and music!

  • mano ber kabisa Anyango nyar Alego

    That's good performance.

    I felt her spirit.

  • Hallo, I would like to have contacts to this lady. Is this possible? I'm luo and also working hard to preserve the luo culture. Whover reads this pls reply. We have a function on July 28. Erokamano.

  • I think it is better to work with the luo elders rather than a foreign student who has just been introduced to the culture? Just wondering....

  • Of course you are right. But I are interested to meet foreigners who are interested in our culture. I have also met Westafricans, South africans, and European speaking our language. Lakini if this is a fake, I think guys should stop joking with us..... Long live luo

  • Long live Kenya! Long live Africa, you freagin tribalist. It is great to see foreigners get interested in African culture. That is not a license to tout your tribe as "long live". By the way you ignorant fool, these people don't care about the tiny nuances between luo and kalenjin or kikuyu and kamba or whatever. They are interested in African culture and this can only be explored through African tribal culture. Grow up akishjaber.

  • I'm sorry I don't get you. First of all, the only thing binding me with this lady is the fact that she was singing my traditional song that even the original pple don't do. Secondly, I work with intercultural organisations internationally and our theme at the moment is "peace in the world". We research on how pple from different ethnics, countries and races try to combine. I'm also proud of my tribe and everyone else should be instead of adopting other cultures.

  • Hey, hey, Julianbts. Go easy on akishjaber. She has all the rights to say "long live luo" as you have on saying long live Kenya or long live Africa! And why stop there? You should have also said long live USA for there is where you have your sanctuary at the moment!

  • Of course, long live luo!

  • heshima jameni your comment is hilarious. hahaha....it's true though akishjaber, what's the deal you want to talk to this japanese student to preserve luo culture?

  • hi i know this lady but i have only a number of the person teaching her how to play, the person is called JOSEPH NYAMUNGU ODDIAMBO;his at the kenya national theater, call him on this no 225174,or mail him or call this other no n ask for nyamungu 0734214302,they wil direct you this lady, sorry if i was in kenya i could help you,if they ask who gave you the no just say cd from germany, they know me coz am also a dancer, all the best

  • before you get too excited, i don't have the info you are looking for, am hoping that you could share any info if you received it. Does she have a website?

  • Hallo, I would like to have contacts to this lady. Is this possible? I'm luo and also working hard to preserve the luo culture. Whover reads this pls reply. We have a function on July 28. Erokamano.

  • good one!!!

  • Just curious how credible this stroy is? I stumbled upon it on u tube, and immediately noticed the sound and her lip movements are not in sync. Was this, considering this vid was posted around April 1st, made as a prank, or is it genuine?

  • It is not fake. This video was on KTN TV news in Kenya. I was forwarded two unedited news clips of Anyango exactly as they appeared in the news. The first one was titled "Anyango nyar Siaya" and the second clip was "Anyango nyar Alego." She is speaking both Kiswahili and Dholuo with a Japanese accent, if you didn't notice.

  • This is not KTN but NTV AT 1, Nation Media Group´s TV channel. The newscaster here is Winnie Mukami. I know because the company is my former employer.

  • You are right. buashraf. It was not on KTN.

  • I am not saying it is fake. Just look at the screen. What do you see? NTV AT 1. That is Nation TV at one. I know the story. The reporter of the story is Patrick Amimo. The newscaster is Winnie Mukami. The TV station belongs to Nation Media Group. KTN is a different company. NOTE NTV at 1. I just wanted to clarify that this is not KTN material but Nation TV which is called NTV these days.

  • THIS SHIT IS FUNNY AS F**k.CHECKY THE WAY SHE MOVES HER LEGS WHEN PLAYING THE NYATITI.LMAO.

  • Amazing and sweet....GO JAPAN!!!!

  • this is too funny and cool, i am jazzed beyond words!!! anyango yar siaya, do your thing.

  • What a challenge to some of us in her country yet can`t be as good as she is in her language! Good one indeed!!

  • Is the clip from a Kenyan channel?

  • Yeah NTV is a kenyan TV channel

  • Ma iluongo ni ang'o gi Dhongere?

    => Kenya believe it? :-)

  • Ma iluongo ni ang'o gi Dhongere?

    => Kenya believe it? :-)

  • Super!!

  • waste of my time

    rudi kwenu

  • Kwanini arudi kwao? Yaani wageni wasijifunze lugha zetu?

  • You're a bloody racist.

  • what do you mean?.....

  • You're in America; how would you react to a White American telling you "go back to Africa"?

  • you missed the point dude.race aint a thing its what you think of it.get out of the old school thought and get in touch with reality.on this video i have not seen anything racist.

  • Really? So 'rudi kwenu' is actually a rather polite welcome in the form of Swahili you speak, eh?

  • Then in what way did you mean it?

  • whats racist in this?

  • I meant 'xenophobic' in my first message.

  • dude you should have said so.thanks anyway.all clear though very funny.bye

  • Whatever.

  • Unamaanisha nini na "rudi kwenu" bwana kinaga ubaga? Tufafanulie basi. Na ni kwanini arudi kwao?
