  • I have a .49mm casing. Someone shot a 9mm out of my .40, it shot fine but the casing is weird looking.

  • I had an accident too last spring... blew a 12 gauge hole in the wall upstairs :K

  • Why u wearing a german uniform?

  • what kind of cannon is on your hip?

  • i had a negligent discharge. and then i started watching you guys. never again.

  • Great video on common sense.

  • barry is what u call a certified bad ass

  • I have a question. If these people are so stupid, how they buy weapons? Is the law so free or something? I mean, here in Bulgaria is so hard to get a gun, you need to pass a course, be a hunter, bodyguard (not private gun) etc. And still it's hard. You ask authorities for permission about possessing, storing, carrying etc. separatedly. You said "Here comes a guy and want a gun". What, he just realized that he need a gun and he wants to buy it? I don' get it. Thank you.

  • @kolaiovet Because unlike Bulgaria, the United States has a Constitution which makes gun ownership a RIGHT, not a privilege. Part of what allows us to enjoy our freedom is that we have the right to defend our property and rebel, if necessary, against a tyrannical government. Look at the history of ruthless dictatorships - the FIRST thing they will do before they start massacring people is take away their firearms.

  • @kdbrown777 Well, don't you think that a mad man with gun is dangerous? If you go to the shop and scratch somebody's car, he may shoot. Is that normal? Is that his RIGHT?

Free americans, armed gangs with big hats and white shirts, kids shooting at school etc. Yeah, that's freedom! Then you don't need police.

I saw the other video, all you must do is to pass a test (for some people very hard to pass). Countries, which every man, woman or kid is armed, are not free. Guns bring freedom and death

  • The magazine never fed properly on my Mossberg .22. I worked the bolt three times to guarantee it was unloaded, apparently on try number three the spring loosed slightly and fed a round into the chamber that had been lodged in the bottom of the magazine unbeknownst to me. I went to dry fire it and shot a hole through a clock and into the wooden paneling in my dining room. Even when you play it safe things don't always go as planned.

  • Very few UDs in my (long) experience, TG...

Father in-law dropped H&R .22 revolver on hammer, firing a round into laundry room wall. Should have had the hammer down on an empty chamber in that kind of gun.

Wife let thumb slip off rifle hammer while trying to lower on loaded chamber (with valid reason). Hole in floor because she did mind her muzzle.

I missed a crow by 4'. Forgot that trigger was different from my usual rifle, but was at least pointing downrange before touching it at all.

  • that vase full of bullets is a scary thought...

  • LOL @ title

  • Badass facial hair. My SKS slam-fired one time. Luckily I was made aware of this possibility before I ever shot it so I never fully loaded it until I had it shouldered and on target. I still think it's one of the best all around guns out there and I've heard that there are solutions to this particular problem in SKS rifles.

  • i once put a 12 ga slug through my ceiling with my very first gun while being an idiot and cycling the gun with live rounds. it will never happen again.

  • Wanna hear about a negligent discharge? I shot myself in the neck with a .45 FMJ round from my dad's M1911 back in June. Now I'm left with a mark on my neck that looks like a hickey.

  • @bartoge1a before i ask, yes i have two holes in my ceiling (yes two, i did it twice...) 9mm....how did you shoot yourself in the neck....even when i know the gun is empty i never point it at my self...only time i look down a barrel is when its not in a gun

  • That's why I hate public indoor ranges. They're always packed during the hours I have time to shoot and it only takes one moron for a round to rip through the partition separating the lanes.

  • @idsman75 Very True!

  • @idsman75 if that ever happened to me it would be that persons last time firing a weapon because he would not have any working fingers left after im done with him..

  • "good thing he finished his business..." LOL

  • Man, yall got some stupid people down there it sounds like from yalls videos.

  • Yeah I think it was Ken Hackathorn that said, "If you haven't ever had a Negligent Discharge, then you just haven't been shooting long enough."

    S/F

  • I swear, I'd pack up all my stuff here in Australia, ship it over to the lot across the street to the shop, move in and hang with you guys all day every day and annoy you :D

  • Comment removed

  • Been shooting for 15 years, and I've yet to have an ND. Could it happen? Sure, but I'd say that keeping your head on straight will get you a long way to minimizing the chances.

  • you guys are great and your shop looks like a lot of fun

  • good info guys

  • you guys are great :D thanks

  • Nice Tantal there. I love the mate grey finish on these guns.

  • my stepbrother had a 30-30 go off trying to put it on half cock, blew the lid off a coffee cup ricocheted off the dash and embedded itself in the door of the truck about a foot away from my dad. tex grebner also shot himself he has a video on it, proving the 45 is not a death ray.

  • Think it was a "Guns and Ammo" magazine i read someone saying "There are those shooters that has had negligent discharge(s). Then there are liars."

Now i had one ND (Pure stupidity) so far, and a few close calls. That ND taught me once and for all. All Guns Are Always Loaded. That is what kept me from getting those close calls up to actual ND´s. Mind you, i don´t handle guns on a regular basis for years now. But it still sits there. And it´s part why i realy like seeing them check every time.

  • You know what you should do is take every "unloaded" gun out onto the range, bring the customer in and pull the trigger downrange. Might really serve to make a point, especially if the customer has no hearing protection!

  • i was shooting my 92 and i was speed shooting and put my finger on the trigger and as i was drawing it i pulled the trigger on acident and almost shot my foot

  • Sir, Thank You for Your Service.

  • i was emptying out a browning BAR .30-06 in the house and i must have touched the trigger and BANG blew a hole in the fireplace, i felt immensly stupid, im very careful now, it was the loudest thing ive ever heard

  • just had one today with my sw9 in the holster. went off, gun flew out and hit me in the leg put a hole through my st croix fly rod then through a basment wall never even touched the trigger somone please tell me how a striker fired 9mm can go off with it being in the holser? scared the fuck outa me

  • The guy on the left looks like the Tourettes Guy.

  • i wait 30 seconds and im 13

  • I have a spot on my closet with a bunch of old clothes stacked up, I have points drawn on it for bore sighting.

I also use it for a "safe direction" when having to chamber a round or do anything where there's a risk. I had a PSL with the firing pin get stuck in the channel, and tore up quite a few shirts, while trying to fit magazines to function. Didn't remove the firing pin because the pin to take down the bolt was frozen solid no matter with I used to beat it with.

  • my 10/22 crushed the whole side of a rim on an Aquila super colibri, didnt even pull the trigger. that was the most expensive bullet i ever shot... it went right into my foot... ouchie...

  • Please!!! Make a video explaining 4473!!! I want to know just how many rights the ATF has stripped from me.

  • I had one back when I was 12, hunting with my old Savage Stevens 940C 20ga, missed a chance to shoot a nice squirrel and went to de-cock it, my thumb slipped and i put the load into a tree in front of me

  • ND's are not funny

    Ever !

  • So you loaded a weapon and pulled the trigger INTENTIONALLY, and thats on your list of "A.D.'s"? hahaha c'mon man

  • No such thing as an AD. ALL unintentional discharges are a result of negligence.

  • I'm sorry but if you're following safety protocols you won't have a negligent discharge. Mistakes do happen but not everyone is bound to have a negligent discharge. Unless someone takes your gun from you the negligence is on the user's part.

  • I prefer DA/SA firearms to 1911's or striker-fired pistols. The trigger pull is heavy and long generally, but it's a worthwhile trade-off to walking around with a cocked hammer. I also like that I can place my thumb on the hammer while reholstering to feel if anything starts to snag the trigger, and best of all no manual safety is necessary, just a decocker. This is just my opinion and if you prefer something else, fine.

  • I enjoy your videos. But I disagree with your definition of "Accidental" discharge.

To be an accidental discharge is mechanical failure or dropping the gun.

Negligent covers any unintentional discharge due to handling or misuse.

Pulling the trigger on an "unloaded" weapon would count as negligent not accidental.

  • Thanks for the gun gripes, they are very useful..if you play with guns like i have for 50 years you can bet on it! you WILL have an axidentil firearm discharge. and it want take 50 years But one can only hope that its your pride thats the only thing gets hurt when it happens and it will happen! thanks guys.

  • Indoors ranges is dangerous. Here in Moscow a woman shot and killed another woman at my range. And on my wedding. I wanted to go with my wife and friends that day, but she made sure the range was closed for a month. She made a strange "double tap". Got surprised by the recoil and the second shot killed the other woman. Hit her right in the head. Still wonder how she managed to do that....

  • @Moscowprepper there are videos on youtube of it, its almost like an accidental two round bump fire, the slow to regain control after the recoil nature seems to make it happen.

  • @Kylef7735 I did not know that. Can you post a link? She spoiled my wedding day:) Must be from the secyrity cams i guess. It's interestin because some have the theory that she might have done it on purpose.

  • @Moscowprepper Ill PM you

  • Put enough rounds through an SKS, and eventually you'll get a surprise.

  • An negligent dicharge can be very expense for years on end..

    (Sorry, I just had to.)

  • OMG the guy on the right would make the ultimate grandpa.

  • @7commenter7 Yup, I'd love to sit on his knee when he plays Santa at Christmas as well.

I'd ask for an LWRC M6A2 SPR but i'd never get it cause i'm too naughty.

  • @7commenter7

That comment makes me feel REALLY old.

  • @7commenter7 Have you ever heard of Hickock45?

  • @DirtRider500R lol yes. He's one of my favorite YouTubers. But this guys also cool.

  • so apparently... fuck walls

  • this is a little off sub, but how can i talk my mom into letting me join the marines or army?

she shuts off the first word i say so from a vet stand point any tips?

  • @devildogsrule101st Talk to a recruiter, they'll help you out

  • negligent - a word that thanks to the stupid English language is almost impossible to pronounce unless you've heard it before.

  • I had one with a .380. I just feel BLESSED a wall stop the slug. Negilgent through sloppyness. But it woke me up PERMENENTLY. Thanks for all the vids.

  • @F3YAW

    Learn to spell

  • To me, an accidental discharge is when a gun is fired because of something that is out of your control. Such as a slamfire when chambering a round, or a mechanical defect that causes the gun to fire when the safety is engaged, etc. A negligent discharge is when you physically pull the trigger on a loaded gun, either intentionally or even unintentionally. There is no excuse for negligent discharge to happen, and I strongly disagree that it is "bound to happen if you are around guns long enough."

  • very nice video ! saffety first ! i am a airgun owner and your video is helping me a lot !

  • What does Barry carry? Can't really tell in the video.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Your description.....That's what she said.

  • The older man makes your channel 10000 times better!

Not saying you suck, but hes nice comic relief and very knowledgeable on firearms!

  • Id call working on a trigger and it going off NEGLIGENT Cause you should have Feild check and Striped it of all AMMO and checked the chamber for a round that would be no excuses the dumb ass mistake that would kill someone

  • can you do a video on 7.62x39 an 7.62x51 my cuz thinks 7.62x39 is a nato round but it is the 7.62x51 that is a nato round not the 39 or just add it to the end of a video some time please an thanks!!!

  • @kingofstl841 your cousin is dead wrong. The soviet's had nothing to do with NATO.

  • I fired my penis inside females vagina... biggest mistake of my life!

  • I've had a few negligent discharges... now I have 3 kids and one nagging mother in-law.

  • You should do a video about guns just "going off" when being cleaned by idiots. There is nothing that baffles me more than someone who cleans a loaded firearm. Absolutely baffling...

  • whats an e5?

  • @PJChillOut

Enlisted grade 5. A military ranking.

  • @116Bears thanx I live in europe so didn't have a clue xd

  • @PJChillOut

    No worries.

  • Great video! In my police department we have one AD at least a year from Glocks. I carry a Glock and love the gun, but you have to pull the trigger to get the slide off.

  • I've had only 1 ND, that one when I was 3 years old.

  • what kind of finish is on the first gun shown. i have seen that finish before and i think it looks weird.

  • You guys gonna jump into the GOP race anytime soon???? I can see it now Barry for President, Eric for Vice president, Ray for Attorney General, And Chad can be Secretary of State!!! LOL

  • Excellent videos,8888. Semper Fi.

  • I'm in the chemical processing industry, and there are two things y'all say in this video that we teach all the time. Barry likes to say "negligent discharge". We teach that accidents are caused by an unsafe act, somewhere along the line. They don't just 'happen", somebody neglected something somewhere. And you say everyone is a range safety officer. We teach that safety is everybody's responsibility. Great job, guys.

  • thanks for teaching me about hangfires ill be sure to teach others

  • 2 here. One with 12 ga. buck shot into a ceiling and one with a .38 special into a bedroom wall.

  • this scares me a bit, i fire a Sauer 200str regularly(in .22) and i shoot, nothing happens, and then im told to "open" the lugs ("re-loading" the firing pin) and then close and try to fire again, but that sound dangerous now that i know a bit about rifles

  • I vote ammo mix-ups

  • I had my first ND 3 days ago. I was a moron and put a hole in the floor with my father's ruger blackhawk. It will happen but as long as you are pointing it in a safe direction you won't endanger yourself or more importantly anyone else.

Also, I really like your vids, the Hi-point destruction ones were awesome.

  • I want to hear a gripe about people that handle a blued shot gun or riffle by the barrel and leave finger prints all over it...

  • I've had two, both with a 12 gauge while point at the ground..

  • I would like to see a gun gripe about stupid gun laws, which include the California 'bullet button'.

  • dam thats a lot of live ammo to find in guns, im suprised you guys are wearing body armour lol.

  • i actually laughed out loud 'bout the story of the officer bump fireing his gun in the stall. thats good shit right there

  • I think the best term for the 240B incident might be "reckless discharge"

  • @TTMR1986 I figure in that instance, I would call it, "Putting an a****** in his place."

  • @ how everyone is an R.O. This is the main reason I shoot alone. Even friends don't like it when I go R.O. on them. I had a guest by for vacation and we were shooting and he was showing me his XD 45. I watch him pull the clip, rack the slide, reinsert the clip, rack the slide and set it down. I say "that weapon is hot. There's a round in the chamber." An argument ensues. I pick it up, pull the mag, rack the slide, out pops the round. "You put that in there" he says "How did you do that?" lol

  • oh plz, oh plz, oh plz, do form 44-73! As in "Do I need to notify my PO that I'm attempting to purchase this firearm?!?" (sarcasm) Do ammo mixups! =D

  • @ iraqveteran8888 Can u do a video on home defense rounds and a talk brief about the use of deadly force in protection of property

  • Excellent tutorial,SAFETY first!! Thanks Eric, and Barry(Gunny)!

  • .357sig is for semi-auto pistols,.357magnum is for revolvers but every idiot keeps telling me a .357sig can be shot out of a .357magnum.

  • I remember Barry telling me and my father the story of the man who shot himself with the 1911 in the back of his pants. good times.

  • Barry is awesome!!!

  • 4473.

  • ammo mix up! love ur vids

  • This is why I donot recommend shotguns that work with a half-cock, sans external safety controls. I also recommend if somebody asks you to move to safely unload a gun, obey them whether they are 90 or 9.

  • Please do ammo mix ups. During deer sight in one year there was a guy who couldn't hit anything at 50 yards. At 25 yards his rifle was key holeing. Turns out he was shooting 270's ut of a 30.06.

  • Great video

  • Just recently I messed up my headspacing on a Browning takedown .22. I found a fix for it and put rounds in to check to see if the rounds would manually cycle. Out of stupidity I perform a function check on it. The firing pin hit the primer on the cheap federals bulk ammo and it didnt fire. Of course it would of only gone through my roof but thank gawd for once on garbage ammo.

  • Lowering the hammer on a 1911 violates basic rules of gun safety. Don't carry condition 2 folks! It's simply too easy to let the hammer slip when lowering it, and you've got your finger on the trigger and safeties disengaged. Condition 1 (Cocked and locked) is the way it was meant to be carried. Condition 3 is also ok, but less preferable in my opinion. Please get a good holster that holds the gun securely and covers the trigger guard on whatever gun you have.

  • im 24 been handling guns since i was 8 and can honestly say i have NOT (yet) had any unwanted discharge of any kind... go me! =) but my uncle blew the shingles off the roof with a 12gauge once and i agree on the difference between ND and AD. To simply put it, if the weapon discharges when you are not expecting it to, you have made a mistake. Glad to see you guys bringing light on this subject, so many people are ignorant to this stuff its sad...

  • My pa' and I have been wondering what we could do for a cheap vacation. I think we're gonna drive down and have a look at your shop :D

  • ammo mixups please !

  • But...you obviously knew that the 240 was going to fire when you pulled the trigger. How is that accidental? That was stupid.

  • Why the F*** would you ever lower the hammer of your 1911 (with your thumb) with a round in the chamber?!

  • @animalmother556x45 Some people have the false idea that carrying a 1911 with hammer lowered is safer than the way Mr. Browning intended it to be carrried, which is "cocked and locked" as they say.

  • @meebit Yeah, that's precisely my point. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I subscribe to the theory that there are no "negligent discharges" or "accidental discharges"...just stupid mistakes.

  • I had an ND while watching this video. I dont care how old you are, its sexual.

  • I also vote ammo mixups

  • 4473

  • @TeoDucky baahahahahaahaha 30yat6!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!! It's ought!!!!! 30 ought 6...double ought buck....most "o" is ought. Not yat. Thank u for making me laugh

  • ammo mix ups

  • and i wanna see amo mixups

  • i had a misfire with a friends 30yat6 last week, i borrowed the gun and took it to my private range and i had aboout a dozen armour piercing bullets, loaded the gun up and racked the bullet and the second i racked it the gun fired, my finger wasnt even on the trigger, the gun was pointed in a safely downrange, i opened the bolt put the gun on safe and then racked the next bullet in, my finger was knowere near the trigger and as i pushed the safty off it misfired a second time.

  • @TeoDucky What the fuck is a 30yat6

  • @tsaojames 30-06

  • @TeoDucky Was it a Remington model 700? I've seen the same thing happen with these rifles, and a lot more people have too. Just google "Remington 700 trigger malfunction".

  • @NLHNTR That was from improper maintenance and ametuer gunsmiths messing with the trigger mechanism. It was not a fault of the 700 design or Remington manufacturing defects.

  • @LifeisGood762 Okay I'll put it this way, the rifles I have personally seen malfunction never had any work done on their triggers, by professionals or amateurs. I can say the level of maintenance varied since different people owned the rifles. However, I've never personally seen a Savage, Winchester or Tikka, etc. malfunction in this way. But, I'm just some dude in a YT comment, don't take my word for it. Always practice safe handling and inspect your rifle, and you should be fine.

  • @NLHNTR Hey if you've seen it for yourself more power to you. I personally don't believe the hype MSNBC caused. You're completely right though, we're just a couple of guys on youtube! =) I consider that a good thing myself.

  • A good gun gripe episode could be on range etiquette: What to do and NOT do at a public range.

Also, I had a guy hand me a weapon at the range after telling me it was unloaded. I racked it and a loaded round popped out. Never trust anybody else, only your own visual inspection. My only ND was not keeping my booger picker off the trigger and accidentally shot a round of 22LR into the berm at my range. Fortunately the range was still hot, still scared the shit out of me.

  • Hey guys want to see some cool gun and knife reviews. Subsribe to my channel

  • I cant stop messin with my Tantal either! No A.D.s tho lol

  • I vote ammo mix-ups.

  • Great video. Also, thank you for your service.

  • @14:05 thats why you shake your ammo

  • Ammo mixups! Oh and can't wait to see that .410

  • Comment removed

  • Glad that you kept the first part in, and got over the sexual innuendo. I've not had an accidental discharge, but several instances of negligence (not leading to discharge, but I still cringe thinking about the situations) when you mentioned them. A bit older and cautious now, and learning from your videos. Always learning. Thanks for what you do.

  • It's ironic that I see this video now. Last night I negligently discharged my Smith and Wesson model 66 through a wall. I absolutely felt stupid and it definitely fucked with my head. Luckily no one was hurt.

  • Ammo Mixups please

  • 4473s!

  • Let's hear about that damned 4473 boys!

  • Ammo mix ups...

  • Good series

  • I'd really like some gripes on Ammo mixups.

  • Make a video on either. I don't mind.

  • I am still working on repairing a Ithaca M51 12ga that double fires on occasion, happened in the field twice once before some repairs once several months after. Both times I felt like an idiot, both times it was due to issues with the firearm, still trying to figure out what exactly it was.

  • Tex Grebner has a Gun/Outdoor channel here on YT. he has a video of him SHOOTING HIMSELF down his thigh during a Close Quarter Drill on a paper Target, with an M1911 . Lucky for him that he didnt hit the BIG artery. Search for it and watch it.

People,as I trained my Soldiers in the Army, keep your Booger Hooker (your finger)OFF that Trigger until you are READY to FIRE that weapon and you will NEVER have a ND or an AD. Stay Safe , This old SCOUTS OUT!

  • You guys are making a difference here! Very informative and its a great REMINDER to even us old "soldiers" about things like cook offs, strange reports were you possibly have a projectile lodged in the barrel...and other info! I had a 45 ACP round that sounded strange last week on the range . I cleared it and checkd it,though the chamber & barrel were clear. It sounded like it was fired under water ((Pop))) ya know? I am CRAZY safe on the ranges & at Home and trained my sons that way too! L8R!

  • Is that a Bundeswehr jacket I spot?

  • i had one. i was out hunting. i was fucking with ym ruger m77 mark2 and sent a 308 into teh hill side. i remember thinking "safe direction..yup...BOOM"

  • Ammo mix ups.

  • Had a guy shoot himself in the hand with a 22 three benches down from me this summer, scary stuff because I wasn't paying attention to anything but what was doing.

  • i never had one. my dad did about 20 years ago. he went out jeep riding with some buddys. one of them loaded the gun without him knowing. shot a 12 guage hole into the floor of the house walking to put the gun up. had it down by his leg. guess its lucky it didnt catch and foot

  • I have had one AD. I was clearing a weapon, semi-auto rifle. Racked the action 4 times, but could not see into the chamber, so I aimed in a safe direction, deactivated the safty, and bang, somehow a round was in there that would not eject. I followed all safty rules, so no injuries to anyone.

  • I have been shooting since I was six years old, and I ain't never had a negligent discharge.

Don't never shoot nothing by accident!
