Pilsudski idea was to create independent Ukraine and Lithuania, and create an alliance. For some time he even was supporting Belarussian nationalists, though finally he decided they are too weak and only offered them autonomy.

Also, Poles no well about 1919. As a newly reborn country for just about a year, Poland was trying to re-establish its borders. Of course Russia (USSR, or whatever) refused to acknowledge these and was attempting to keep those of Imperial Russia.
Like Germany, Russia couldn't bear the thought of an independent Poland. Read General Tukhachevsky's comment as proof.

1) POland had only non-aggression pact with Germany, was not an ally. At the same time Poland had non-agression pact with USSR. Unlike USSR, we had no alliance, no military cooperation, and no political cooperation. Jus tlook at the Czechoslovakia, when Poland was acting against Germany (though Hitler was briilliant politician and was able to convince the world that it was the opposite)

Josef Pilsudky saved our Western Ukraine from femine in 1933 and let our people to live 20 years less of Red Terror. While our Ukrainian were quaraled among themselves Poles united and fought the Red aggression. Under Poland people enjoyed complete religious freedom. The soviet system was a plaque of human history next to Nazis and Taliban.

On one side they were fighting on/for their own land, but on the other condemn the killings of defenseless civilians regardless of their nationality. Both armies UPA and Armia Krajowa got blood of civilians on their hands. They rather should have unite their forces against the common aggressor. And the Soviet benefited by conquering divided nations and instilling their terror upon them.

That makes Poland neither allies of German nor the Soviet Union. The talks about German Polish alliance probably did exist though, since Poland was looking for allies since Poland knew that Russia would try to back stab Poland whenever they get the chance, as they did in 1939.
