You should put the banks power six gun on it. It comes in handy especially if you want some extra power and fuel economy because you have 6 power options. I would also put a banks big hoss chip level 5 (4 for any cali people). We currently have those on our 2000 7.3 with banks monster exhaust and turbo impellers. Hope this gave some upgrade ideas. Beautiful truck you have it in reallly good shape!
Hey Dan, hows that K&N treating you? I keep hearing K&N filters dust the hell outta these 7.3s, the one i'm buying in 2 weeks has one, kinda wondering if it's true and if I should replace it with another filter.
you want to take and get a turbo with a wastegate the excurision models did not come with wastegates nor did the e series models adding a turbo with wastegate with help fuel mileage and save the engine in the long run. also get rid of the k&n get a dry filter not a oiled one any oiled filter will pit the turbo compressor wheel and dust the engine
ditch the bully dog and go with the dp tuner, you can have 16 tunes on it including 140 smoke one, and it also does your trans for ya, makes the shifts firm and locks the tc up more, then ditch the K&N cause it lets too much dit in and tears up the turbo and go with the #6637 mod, and finally plug off the red wire on the wastegate, you'll get 3-5 pounds more boost out of it
you need to cut a hole in the roof and install a 50 cal. Next weld a cattle guard to the front bumper and then fuck shit up. I find that hitting people at about 55 mph produces the best results. God Bless.
Im in no way bashing, but the bully dog is nothing compared to a custom chip. the trans should be fine with those few mods. If anyone has any questions send me message about if you want different mods that can be done. Good vids by the way.
@nowelleoh im 16 and i have an 03 version of this truck and thanks to this vid.. i cut the muf. and added the k&n cold air.. and i have a 3 1/2 in pipe with a 5" tip..
Thanks for the tips! That 7.3 Ford POWER STROKE is a GREAT ENGINE ! Try drilling holes the fiberglass piece (on the driver side) beside the radiator. You'll get more air into the air filter. Also, the 2006-08 Ford rear axle cover makes a great upgrade -use synthetic gear lube when you replace old cover. If you tow, replace the old steel Trans Pan with a HUGHES aluminum pan(5 qts more fluid) Save weight, run cooler and keep your tranny cool. My 2001 BUILT FORD TOUGH F350 has 235K miles !!
If the tailpipe was flush with the vehicle, the whole back corner would be black with soot. We want our vehicle to look nice, not too worried about how the exhaust pipe looks, but the sound that comes out of it is another thing.
Yes, the tuner we have allows us to switch tunes on the move, or "on the fly" as other people say. It's really handy, although I usually drive with it in the extreme mode for fun! :)
They eat trannys, if you have the money, and time, go to powerstrokenation(.) com and look around there, they have tons of information about why Bully Dog is bad(they do a number of other things) but you can also find another great tuner from them, for maybe half the price!
hey i dont know if you wana try it or not, but my friend has had edge, and bully dog in his 350, its a super cab short bed, 6" lift with 35" mud terrains. He really didnt notice a difference, I gave him the sct multi flash tuner outta mine and he it pulls harder, shifts better while the egts are the same. He also has twin 5" stacks with 4" off the turbo. But he loves my sct and swears by it now. But it also rolls alot more coal now then bully dog did and especially edge.
The engine has to be running while you drill the hole because it applies pressure on the exhaust pipe, and forces any metal chips out the hole so they don't get into the exhaust system.
@DanielJaegerFilms Not gonna tell you your wrong, but it you install another, it'll be fine if you don't have it running ;). It's also somewhat safer than those gasses blowing a shaving or two on you, because the drill bit will be pulling them outward anyway. However good vid and good mods. take care of that engine and it'll last longer than methuselah.. well almost haha..
I was told by my reputable mechanic, not to use K&N, on diesels especially. He said they let to much dirt in with the air. Just saying this to spread what I was told, not sure if it is 100% correct or not though.
I've heard the same, but I've also heard that K&N is one of the best air filters for keeping dirt out and letting air in. So far, I have not seen any dirt or dust collecting on the inside of the air intake. Maybe it was some older filters they were using, and they improved them. But yeah, I've heard that before.
Ya. I have heard good and bad about it, like most things. There are always two sides to everything, and it is up to the individual to make the choice. I am sure many people have good luck with the KN systems.
You heard that from people who have never used them before, trust me they are in ALL of our cars and they keep the inside of the carb/throttle body MUCH cleaner than the stock one's do... Just make sure they're not over oiled
i sure know a little more now!...LOL... But im still waiting for that dishwasher video! Did you guys save that center console?? on my dads 1999 Ford Explorer.. in the center console theres the A/C-Heat vents and the radio controls. BOth my partens drive fords.
Well, I don't get to my grandparents house very often, but when I do, I'll take a video! I'm not sure how you would reroute the AC/heat vents on the console in the Explorer. Thanks for your comment!

banks makes a new impeller for the stock 7.3 turbo, it's a fairly easy upgrade, you should put one in.

Hey, why do you have to drill the hole why the engine is running, just wondering
FordsSuck95 2 years ago
The engine has to be running while you drill the hole because it applies pressure on the exhaust pipe, and forces any metal chips out the hole so they don't get into the exhaust system.

@DanielJaegerFilms you can put grease on the drill bit and tap and prevent metal shavings from going into the turbo no need to have truck running

If you install the pyro. pre-turbo you shouldn't. The metal shavings need to be cleaned out before starting the engine.
