A bunch of Marilyn's dresses were auctioned off recently and they barely fit on modern size TWO mannequins. Even when she was bigger she was maybe a four, six tops. And you are comparing actresses to modern runway models, which is apples and oranges; even in the 50s, fashion models were tiny. If people don't like their bodies they should exercise more, not make up lies.

The fact that Marilyn fit into really small dresses during a significant time doesn't discount the fact -- and it is a well documented fact by her costumers and designers -- that Marilyn's weight was not alway the same. Especially when she was depressed. That's not a bad thing, I don't think.

This is what I call film-detective work...until recently, I'd thought this version of the famous (or notorious) "Lookin' for Trouble" scene to be lost. Good work! And while the movie is pretty forgettable in itself (aside from being the debut for Kim Novak), this costume of Jane's is one of the hottest in film history. Women back in the 50's had better figures, took care of their figures and dressed better. Today the fashion industry has this idea if you look like a tongue depressor with no curves your hot.
