my trainer has a loose latch that isn't spring loaded that sometimes gets in the way of the blade or the handle when closing or opening all the way, is there anything i can do to fix that other than just break it off? it's a cheapo ronin gear trainer. ill get a real one with a spring latch when i'm sure i won't cut off part of my finger flipping it.

A cheap one cost around 30$.

It is a prohibited weapon in canada (illegal). You can order one online...customs can seize it.

Maybe try a trainer (comb/bottle opener)?

In my experience and opinion it is crap based on these things:

It will wear down real fast(moving parts get loose and wobly)

It will break easily if dropped because of cheap construction material.

Fit and finish is poor

You have no guarantee or customer service

It might not work as well as higher end balisongs

BUT if you can practice with it and have fun without spending a fortune then who cares if its crap,

@ActOfRandomChaos That is very normal, especially in a cheaper knife. You have what is called a sandwich style handle because there are actually 2 pieces to each handle. The one I have is a channel style because knife makers start with 1 piece of metal and cut a channel down the middle.

first of all you way over do the opening. When you release the unsafe end just pinch the blade, then the unsafe end will be straight up. Turn and release the blade at the sametime and you did it in like half the time. But everyone does it differently.
