@FUCK202 first of all You were not there I was! he parked to a spot that no one wanted to park not even real 4x4 with tires and everything, even after some people warned him. He was a typical "look my X5 girls!" with 2 girls in his X5 already :S So X5 is a great car for the road, even with little bit of snow, slippery roads and some easy dirt roads that most cars could go. But lets just leave it there. And you know what? I dont give a shit either!

My mom's X5 with with the same tires as when it came new the sport/all season tires will climb threw that. Traction Control OFF and slightly on the throttle.

If he turned the traction control off he'd have more luck. If you watch his wheels the traction control is defeating his momentum by constantly braking the spinning wheels.

Sports package on an SUV just doesn't make sense, especially in Winter. My 4Runner with standard tires can go through that snow with no problem

RTFM. (Read The F** Manual). Push DTC button to shut off DTC in such cases. Otherwise the ECU keeps on cutting off the engine power continuously. Of course snow tyres would make it much easier here too. (Unfortunately, mechanical engineering cannot always resolve stupidity...)

a lil' plastic car with 4wd, is still a little plastic car.

Pretty fancy traction system on it, tho. It is certainly trying. If those come with a low range, that might have helped it control the wheel spin a little better.

all wheel drive doesnt mean it will go on snow, neither does SUV label. You have to distinguish between clever advertising and marketings VS your own lack of inteligence and your own stupidity and years of brainwashing. Somehow I can just look at the car and have an idea if it will make it in snow or not. Just by looking at it. isn't it amazing or am I just that good. It's probably both.

x drive system very poor put even with it and the standard tyres this guy could have got out of there unaided if he'd just get off the power and stop spinning the wheels, zero traction once the tyres spin, rock it on the clutch (manual) rock the trottle(auto) to get it started and only use enough trottle to keep moving once you get going, full power gets nowhere in those conditions

I have 2001 X5 and I was driving in snow this winter in ski resort area, - no problem at - deep snow, hills, bad icy roads - no problem at all - just because I HAD CORRECT TIRES AND 18 INCH RIMS !

this x5 is the 4.6is model which does not have the xdrive.... also the driver has to switch off the traction control and reduce the tires pressure... it is an easy stuff but sometimes useless drivers bring shame to such great cars like the X5...

TTQ/S3/R32 = a haldex system.

Audi S4-A8 etc = a torsen quattro bmw Xdrive >Audi haldex >audi torsen

the point is Xdrive cannot do better in the extreme condition better than Audi`s car.

it is a 4.6is from the looks of it.

point is that its an early x5 without xdrive which really sucked big time.

the face lifted versions were the first to recieve xdrive systems this one is a non variable 4x4 system
