  • Yo, nice approach sir. Liking this. BTW: vintage horns rock.

  • You are simply amazing! Look at that technique--remarkable!

  • This cat cooks... :-)

  • You are SMOKIN!!!!!!!! If I ever get stationed in NOLA, I'd love to take lessons if you teach!

  • What kind of set up are you using?

  • @jazzman110393

    Hi there,

In this video I'm playing a Morgan 8L with a 1937 Selmer Balanced Action. Since then I've worked with one of the new Vintage Links, but I am presently enjoying a mouthpiece made by Phil Engleman; all are rubber with a .100 tip opening...

  • cool , il like your playin'

  • I watched your set at the University of Memphis a few hours ago...thanks for coming...I really enjoyed the concert....

  • This is good stuff; Tony's technical facility is outstanding. HIs sound does really elevate the higher partials, (the Bb1 range is bright, the the Bb2 range is twice as bright and the Bb1 range is three times at bright, etc.). I suppose this is b/c he is playing in an amplified environment. Tony is amazing; thanks for producing and sharing this--outstanding.

  • Wow, what a GREAT player! Great concept. his sound knocks me out. This is how I want to play!!!!

Good job Mr. Dagradi. I am off to iTunes to see if I can buy your CD's.

  • Tony:

This is why I always refer to you as " 'da great Dagradi".....you are THE MAN!!

    Steve Goodson

  • Great, as usual. Back to the woodshed. Your friend, Ken(Snakebite).

  • great. i can hear some late grossman there.

  • Tony--always fabulous, but that sound--this is the richest and most profound tenor sound combined with the most superlative technique around. Tony--in all his humility--is simply amazing and is a living legend.

  • We are Tony Fans! Great video. I have gotta get me one of those! Love you,

Craig and Mary, Club 300 Jazz Bistro

  • Thanks for the kind words. The set with Carla was done a long time ago; probably 1984. It was a phenomenal band. Carla is a true genius.

  • Great clip. Thanks for posting this. I first saw you with Carla Bley on youtube, playing that awesome solo from the Pink Panther...great stuff.
