sounds good, but auto?...many know that when u buy a car and u mod it, and it looks like u will race with it since we see u flooring it lol then u should have got stick...auto gets boring
It's not just an auto you fool. No torque converter on that tranny. It's the new 7 speed dual clutch and it's supposed to be faster than the stick with paddle shifts that can get to the next gear faster than any human can row a stick. It has better gearing than the stick also. It's like SMG but better.
lol ok bud. u think i dont know what the new 7 speed does? tell me this, is it better the the IS F's new 8 speed auto gear box? or even the the evo 9 MR's? yes it faster than any human, but was that my point? no, my point was, if u read it, that automatic transmission gets boring whether or not it has the best auto gearbox doesnt really matter to some car enthuasits. if they dont see a clutch to use with their foot, they wont buy a 60 grand performance car unlike this guy. cant always be lazy
Well I can't speak for everyone who has DCT. but I'm a major enthusiast that has driven manual my entire life. I love it and would never see a reason to go back to a 3rd pedal. It just makes me giggle every time it shifts. It feels like a 'proper' drag car tranny except way more refined, like a bus ramming the back of the car every time it shifts... talk about fun!
not true in this trans, in which the auto has as many gears as the manual if im not mistaken, so no there is no lost except the fun of moving a stick and stomping a clutch
Wow! Awesome sound! Love this exhaust on the new M3. The auto slushbox sound of the M-DCT M3 during shifts ruins the exhaust sound in redline runs though. Check out the 6 speed manual video. The exhaust truly sounds sick on the 6 speed manual during shifts in a video of a M3 sedan 6MT (with exhaust sound during the "shift bark", so to speak)
I agree the DCT "auto" sound is bad sometimes, but I think the launch control and 2nd gear shifts in S6 mode sound much better than a manual. I think I'm sold on AA after seeing this one...
I also love the sound of DCT shifts at 50-75% throttle and 5k rpm
