Harry is sometimes used as a shortened version of Harold. Both my grandads births names are Harold but both have always been known as Harry.

Its funny though coz the 1 on my mums side, his sisters call him harold if they is annoyed with him so you always know when he has done something wrong coz he is refered to as Harold, that is how I found out about the name thing.
