here is the thing. i do this for fun but a little extra spending cash can be put into producing mroe content that i like doing. after a certain point without a little compensation, im going to hit a raod block and i wont be able to keep teh pace up at what i like doing. thats why im ticked their view on video game footage! they let machinia go way past what i'd do with copyright issues but me putting up a simple playthrough is subject to getting deleted off the internet for good. :(

@TheDylan1234 No. Monetization IS the money. When you monetize a video, you put ads on the video. You get paid for the ads. That whole process is monetization. You get paid $2.50 for every 1000 views I believe.

Great points. People are appreciative, and get invites from friends, who have different interests. I do promoting of music, through slidehshow, and i"m starting to expand. :). I use unknown local, and now some others throughout the world's music, and it's interesting. You make so much sense, I am a partner, but I agree. lol. :).

The odds of making any real money is not going to happen. The Monetization is an advertising method to get people to use Youtube. They showcase people like Fred and go on about how popular you can be. Its almost like a Scam. My 2 cents is just use youtube the way it was originally intended. And have fun with it.

I agree, it's about what YOU enjoy doing, not what the masses will want to see. It makes you more original and could get you in the spotlight when everyone gets bored with seeing the same kind of videos over and over again. Plus its better to keep a happy few subscribers that appreciate you rather than just follow you because your big and whats cool.
