Ottawa is a very nice city. I live here for 10 years now and I love it! It's not boring at all, we always have something to do and having fun all the time!!! It's close to Montreal and Toronto. Also it's only 80km away from American border!
I love Ottawa. I have lived here my whole life and I can say it has expanded A LOT... we now are home to the largest waterpark in Canada as of June 2010 and the scenery is beautiful. It's just just a nice city.
Hi ds10194, nice video, you touch upon some of the most iconic places/buildings in Canada’s capital. This would be great for the Canada’s Got Treasures collection, which aims to feature Canadian videos of personal or cultural significance. Help celebrate Canadian diversity by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure) and submitting your video. It would be made available on our channel and website.
I visited Ottawa in 1984 when I was a young lad of 18 to visit all my cousins, uncles and anties, and in true honesty from memory I can not remember what the city of Ottawa looks like(apart from the parliment buildinds) well it was a long long time ago......
We cannot pay GST PST HST anymore, we cannot have bad products being sold in our super markets with out our federal Govt taking charge, do your job, we are being Jibed out here, companies selling us old stale defective products the quality of food in this part of Ontario is bad who wants to travel to Toronto for groceries or some rich suburb, you guys doing something visibly wrong here, seems like we have no law, What are you people in your neighborhoods and limousines doing?
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Perfect for those (like me) that wish to see the city from a "normal" perspective instead of some advertising campaign. If I may suggest, I'd love to see some subtitles identifying each location. Thanks!
@Darkvision2012 Thank you very much! Don`t worry about being late. What matters is that you had the kindness to answer. Thanks again. See you in Ottawa. ;)
I live in Ottawa, sure, it may be boring to the naked eye, but wit the right people and the right activities, even a shithole in the lower slums of India could be fun! good times in Ottawa baby, u just gotta know where to look!
Ottawa is a very nice place during the Spring/Summer and even fall. Winter can be pretty boring and dull, but there are alot of activities which come in the Winter.
Due to the state of the economy more and more people are starting to sell there properties through the for sale by owner companies. It has grown rapidly in the past 3 years and it seems like it will grow even more faster as the word spreads about how it works. There is a company expanding in Ottawa that helps sellers save thousands of dollars and help sell there property much quicker then most of the other for sale by owner companies. For more details send me a message.
hmmm iam a canadian, i thought vancouer was the best plavce in canada to live in, i myself am in Toronto and consider Toronto the best as its my hometown, iam thinking of going to Ottawa one day, well lets see...
OTTAWA is a pretty city, and it is also beautiful and scenic. Some may see it as peaceful. True, winter is a dreary time, but things pick up in the spring and summer. There are lots of things to do then.
Oh my - it's quite a challenge to make a "scenic" video of Ottawa during the dreary days of November! Good job - one point though: the "Great Wall of the Bay" in the market will NEVER be scenic, no matter what time of year it is! Cheers!

@casao17
0:00 - 0:14 would be the Rideau Canal
0:15 - 0:21 is City Hall
0:47 - 0:56 is Parliament Hill
1:26 - 1:33 is the National Art Gallery
1:50 - 3:00 is the Byward Market
3:13 - 3:32 are the Canal Locks (Not in use during winter I believe)
4:02 - 4:09 is the War Memorial
The rest are just general downtown areas/parks.
Sorry if this is kind of late. :)
