Amino acids are the basic building blocks of enzymes, hormones, proteins, and body tissues. Skip the difficult digestion and toxicity and eat alkalizing foods. Why do I even bother? so dumb

  • I have not had milk products since I was 13. Im 26 and my bones are healthy. So is my weight. Im under 100 pounds, in fcat now almost under 90.

  • I think this video is not giving a balanced view, raw dairy can be very good for you, look up Dr Weston Price,(his excellent book called: Nutrition and Physical Degeneration) it appears we cannot thrive on a totally plant based diet, although I totally agree plant based diets have a lot of good to offer, particularly raw juicing is excellent for everyone, but studies of ancient cultures have shown the healthiest disease free people were also consuming raw dairy or large amounts of sea food.

    I once thought the way you did, but can't imagine consuming any dairy ever again. We are the only mammals on the planet that consume dairy after being weaned. It is loaded (raw milk) with approx. 80 different hormones. It is a life support for a newborn mammal. Milk is liquid meat. Factory farmed milk is worse of course due to antibiotics, pasteurization & Posilac in some.

  • @rwdford Humans are naturally herbivores, not omnivores. You can thrive on a plant based diet, but not on an animal based diet. Plant protein is what we need, not animal. Things like Iron, B12 and calcium are not only obtained through animal foods, but some people seem to think that they are. Even the vitamins and minerals in plants are more easily absorbed than those from animals. Try to look more at newer research, rather than old.

    If you want to consume a food that contains blood, pus and pooh that is your choice. Consuming animal products makes your blood ph too acidit.   • What do you tell a mother who feeds their children milk? Breast feed bitch, if they aren't babies, use Rice, Almond, and/or Soy Milk. Try some veggies. Some veggies have calcium and isn't as acidic in comparison to dairy products.

    I know a woman whos still breastfeeding her son at over 1 years old. 99% of women today make the huge mistake of stopping breastfeeding their baby at 6 months or even younger. In olden times you were breastfeeding a child for at least 3 or 4 years.

    Cows milk is the worst food you can give to an infant.

  • interesting that Weston A. Price has found the exact opposite to be true in all his studies and research. All the cultures he has studied are the healthiest when they are on high dairy/meat diets. Every constitution/body type, every culture, every lifestyle seems to benefit from different diets. There is never one that is "right".

    Incorrect. Pestisides are used to protect the crop against "pests" i.e. insects.

  • It's important to differentiate between organic meat/dairy and non-organic which usually would contain high amounts of pesticides, chemicals from fertilizers, bovine growth hormone, antibiotics, PCBs (stored in fat); many of which have been proven to cause cancer and other problems, over-use of antibiotics causes bacterial resistance to them. Not too mention that livestock mostly eat grains which is not their average food and brings to mind many more health risks.

Yes babies doo need milk but milk from its mother from the same species... not from a 2 ton cow thats hormones levels and protein levels are different from what a human child needs.... the human body is designed to be a plant eater just like all other forms of apes...   • Thank you and I hope people do take the time to read The China Study. There is so much information out their supporting a plant based diet, yet it is not well reported thanks to media ownership, bias and corruption, in addition to big pharma who prefer us sick rather than healthy, for obvious reasons.

  • @UMakeTheConnection , if you only knew,... you're statements are full of balogna/baloney. The China study is 'incomplete' in considerations covering 'all' the aspects in living as it relates to diet. I'm very experienced with all this, including how it relates to my health, and other peoples' experiences. Failure to thrive over the long term is the standard on vegan/raw vegan, and lopsided vegetarian diets. It's about balance and quality with whatever is eaten, farts aside.

Farts are most common with bulky carbohydrates such as fruits, vegetables, and then of course 'contentious' foods such as milk and beans, depending on the individual. All that even with a clean and lean body system. I've been in the dietary health field since 1984, results speak for themselves. Be aware of what your body indicates. The standards rule.     How have you been in dietetics so long without having to dole out "official" guidelines? Are you a registered dietician? Also, when switching from a heavy meat to mainly plant diet, there are upsets while the body's enzyme production levels and intestinal flora change to accomodate the change.

    I'm not trying to be a dick, just curious for more information. I've seen one dietician in my life, who told me that muffins, crackers, and milk are okay but they made me sick.

  • @kryptilian, here's the deal: your body's an engine. What you consume will give you results you can discern. Do cleansing, that's all good if you got gunked up with food or quantities your body couldn't adequately process. Ok, so that's basically taken care of. Now go out, live to perform, get in tune with your body, consume, get in tune, be aware of what your body indicates. Go on the results that your body practically reveals. Again, live to perform as a physical and mental being.

    Plant based diet is much better. There are children been brought up on a vegan diet from day 1 and they are much stronger than children raised on meat and dairy. I rather get my nutrition first hand.

I know what I'm talking about, by deep personal experience/s and observations. The generalist omnivores are much stronger than those raised vegan.

    Drinking the milk of other animals is not natural. Only humans consume milk after their been weaned. No animal on Earth would be stupid enough to drink milk they can't digest properly.

    What I said was fact. You can get all your vitamins and minerals from fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains.

    B12 comes from bacteria in animals. You do not have to eat the animal or drink its milk to get B12.

    Meat eaters have heart disease, cancers. You hardly hear of a vegan dying from these ailments.

    The dark green leafy vegetables have the highest rates of calcium.

    Typical North American consumes something like 1700mg of calcium through drinking milk but their don't absorb any of it, it passes right through their system plus calcium leeched from the bones urinated out. A typical African consumes something like 500mg of calcium through a plant based diet and absorbs most of it without losing any from the bones.

    Someone who has been vegan all their life will be much stronger than someone who has been eating meat and diary all their life. A vegan won't have any bone diseases or diabetes.

    I know 80+ year old vegans who can run 5 miles a day still. Show me a meat eater of the same age that can do the same(assuming they live that long for vegans live 11 years longer).

  • @UMakeTheConnection, if you only knew. Different people have different requirements(Mercola and others have classified that). So many people have had problems with the body's integrity going vegan, raw vegan, 811, etc., not as cleansing problems, but as 'adequacy' problems. Starches, aging, imbalanced eating, low quality produced products, 'teetotaling', are most associated with heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

    Results with your own body are the real deal. Get in tune.

  • I have read Diet for a New America and admire John Robbins. Im sure you know his history with "Baskin Robbins". I guarantee you will learn more than you want to from the China Study. It is in simply terms to understand, no need to be a scientist, but I was in awe and it change the way I eat and live. No doubt, one of the best books I've ever read.

This was so silly to watch...."food makes you sick"..."food is medicine"...."food is toxic"...this is basic nutrition facts, nothing special...all he said was to not eat dairy...hmm, curious, since we've been eating dairy for 1000s of years and certain kinds offer incredible nutrients for our body.   • If I offered you "human breast milk" right now today, you would be appauled. Yet, for some strange reason.. no doubt marketing and big business advertising, you believe that drinking milk from a COW who gave up her baby just to provide for the corporation she is enslaved in is good for you. You must be dreaming my friend. Cows milk is for calves... yet they never see it... that's called veal! It's not a health food, it's a cancer promoter.   • Where is the research that proves that cow milk is a "cancer promoter". Oh, the research better be in a credited journal too...not Extra.

    To say that cow milk is only for calves is like saying corn is only for crows, or apples are only for worms, or meat is only for the animal's own muscles.

    Currently, milk is NOT a carcinogen...it's been consumed for 1000's of years.

    A reason not to drink it would be to reduce animal suffering (as you mentioned), but NOT because it's bad for you.

  • If you live in the usa you are being bombarded by recombinant bovine growth hormone,a steroid given to cows. And then of course theres the whole antibiotic issue. Do you really want to assert that this isn't dangerous? Or maybe you want to assert that these things aren't cancer producing.I urge you to do some research on long-term steroid and antibiotic use and how it affects the human body. Then come back and comment. Until then, peace,love, and great waves of information upon you:)

  • I am very well aware of the antibiotic/hormone issue, and I eat nothing but organic meat. There is absolutely NO research that concludes that these cause CANCER. For decades now, there have been multiple studies and NOT ONE suggests this conclusion. 

    These practices ARE however, bad for the environment, from run-off to bacterial resistance; this and other reasons is why I'm on organic.

    YOU do the research and find a legit article in an accredited journal saying these cause cancer!

  • I'm well aware of corporate media, but I'm also aware of unbiased accreted science articles/journals.

    I like documentaries, but I also recognize they're bias and agendas which tend to focus on certain info while leaving other info (just as pertainent) out.

    I know there is TONS of crap wrong with our agro system...I just read Pollan's books...but there is no proven connection between milk and cancer...yet.

  • It is both. How can a cow's milk be good for you? It is from another species and not meant for people. It is meant for calves. Which they take from a grieving mother, fact, and just literally milk these cows until they are worthless. Nothing natural about putting a cow on a milking machine and taking the life out of a cow for years until they kill it for the meat or dump it at the side of a road, sometimes. We all must EVOLVE into compassion.

    I agree cows need to be treated better, but this doesn't mean that "milk causes cancer"..that's just wrong.

  • Calcuim~The most healthful calcium sources are green leafy vegetables and legumes

    Vitiamin D~The sun..15 minutes a day and you will get a zillion mg of the BEST D ever

    Fats~everywhere and milk fats are very BAD for you.

    Protein~Broccoli, green leafy veggies, soy, Americans actually get too much protein. Read some suggested books as you are living in the dark ages 1,000 of years ago. We do not need one thing that we can not get from a whole plant based diet and extend our lives.

    "milk fats"? how are they different from other fats? People all over the world depend on goats and cows for milk fat/protein and calcium. They are STAYING ALIVE because of milk.

  • You are grasping at straws and I really want people who have an open mind. I have provided you with much information as have others on this page yet you keep wanting to *fight*. I am done as you can answer any of your questions by googling or asking your doctors. All my doctors are vegan so I know they know as much as any of us and more.     Just accept that. It's ok to complain about our food industry and to give reasons why we shouldn't drink milk or eat meat or non-organic, but you at least have to give FACTUAL information (which there is plenty of)...you don't have to scare people with made-up cancer facts.

Maybe we are more aware of nutrient ion here in CA yet the points you make/made are different than what EVERYONE on this page is saying.   • I am correcting a single fact, here...Find A SINGLE science journal article that proves "milk causes cancer".

    If "EVERYONE on this page" is saying milk causes cancer, then your "page" is a cult. California is full of them! I'd like to think you aren't in one simply because MOST of what you say is true.

    If milk causes cancer, every news media outlet would be all over it and they wouldn't be selling it. Journalists have decided to ignore your sources.

  • Please leave me alone and check out PCRM..Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine who are ALL Physicians who have DEDICATED their lives to the TRUTH of animals and how bad they are to eat. Most doctors only take ONE nutrient class during their whold studies. I have co-authored a book and have done more research then most people. I would suggest that YOU pick up a book and read about what the truth is. The person who put this video on has suggested a number of books. Get educated then speak

    2. Vitamin D Deficiency (Holick MF)

    These both suggest that milk SHOULD be consumed. I couldn't find anything on "milk causes cancer". Maybe if you could locate these articles that show overwhelming evidence that milk causes cancer, that would satisfy me and your guilty conscience for publishing false information.

  • The next time you're in a book store (if that could ever happen), pick up The China Study and look in the back under references. There should be about 35 pages of references  which support these findings. If your wife is a doctor, she should have no problem finding and accessing some of these. Don't kill the messenger.

  • doctors prescribe prozac and ritalin all the time as well, and we all know how safe those are. and the suggestion that BECAUSE a doctor prescribes a drug is testament enough as to it's safety, is absurd. as to disinformation, truly steroids are the single most dangerous drug class in the usa, due to their wide and regular use. and i doubt this blind acceptance you purport exists. there is no reason for anyone to hold either of us up as authorities and not inform themselves independently.

  • Where did you hear "steroids are the single most dangerous drug class in the US"? I would think alcohol or nicotine would be; but that's irrelevant.

    There's no point in singling out a drug as being bad when it does WAY more good than harm. Ritalin does GREAT things for people who really need it, of course it's abused and results in consequences, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be prescribed. People abuse painkillers, they can even KILL, but that doesn't mean that they're bad.

  • This research/book totally demolishes the animal protein myth and what constitutes an appropriate diet for humans. The research is robust, reputable and irrefutable. Yet powerful interests override this sort of information and so many people are dullards even when it's in their own interests to know these facts.

    Caught in the middle are millions of suffering animals.

  • You're right, nobody wants to think they aren't eating well, particularly when our government, corporate marketing / advertising departments and of course our one sided media tell us the opposite.

    It's truly time that "we the people" take back our health. Never mind worrying as much about the health care situation in the U.S. If we eat nutrient rich foods, grains, legumes, veg and fruit, "we the people" can put them out of business.
