they took one platoon and had them conduct police calls day in and day out on top of training. and on the other end of the spectrum a platoon that only conducted training. then the platoons were ran thru FTX and guess who came out on top. the "police call" platoon spotted most of the hazzards before they were a threat. the other platoon failed tremendiously

I was an E-5, actually. I'm just an old 11B from the 502nd. Who said anything about having more sense? Dumb shit DOES get played out up and down the CoC but that was not what I was commenting on. Here, I see this as blatant disrespect and insubordination to an NCO (Article 91). A "Roger, sarn't" and moving the fuck out woulda sufficed. Instead of taking the time to bitch and whine, the private could have had that NCO out of his hair and been done with whatever task was given.

I feel this way about some of my NCOs. I seriously want to ask them who pissed in their cheerios most days. But some NCOs walk through fire for their soldiers, and I've been lucky enough to be directly under them for most of my time in service.
The detail shit never ends though. I'm in the biggest platoon in the biggest company in my battalion, and so if there's no aircraft work to do we get stuck on motorpool or police call or something equally fun...
