I get what Kate means that they wanted to bring in a sexually pleasing character and thats why Jeri was brought in in the first place, but Seven of Nine was a brilliant character and I feel that she brought alot more to the show than just a nice body. Seven was intelligent and brought a new perspective to the view of women. You can be beautiful, strong, and intelligent all at the same time.
It's interesting that whenever I see Mulgrew comment about her objections to 7 being brought in, she invariably refers to Jeri Ryan as a "girl". It seems at odds with her feminist sensibilities to refer to this talented, capable, grown woman as a girl. Makes me always feel like it's a back handed compliment, and somewhat insincere.
Anyway I wish her "ruffled feathers" would go down long enuf to see that Seven was Janeway's missing "Spock" and be thankful she came along!
Before when the marrage of a woman was an exchange of property it was basicly saying that she no longer belonged to her father but now belonged to her husband

I think she did a good job commenting on all her cast mates. She showed how close they were and how much they meant to her.
