It was a project name, like how Armored core silent line was called Project sigma or something before it was officially announced. It was something like that.
Was it originally something else, or was it supposed to be an Armored Core from the start (with "Project Force" just being a funky subtitle)? The mecha design here looks like traditional Armored Core, but a lot of From Software tends to look more gritty and mechanical than most mecha; it could just be their traditional style, rather than Armored Core-type designs.
