  • ''We got shit to do'' HAHAHAHA :)

  • Mah Nigga

  • Its from Marriane Williamson poet of love I believe, not from this film but yeah they used it to more effect.

  • 1:45 is brilliant because really, that's all he ever wanted to do. He says it in a much more forceful way at another point in the movie, I think it's at the school board meeting prior to this, but he says something like "I took this job so that I could affect change in young men in this city and THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!" When Timo Cruz said that he saved his life it means that he succeeded... Even before all the Playoffs and St. Francis stuff.

  • Totally got shiver when Cruz said "you saved my life"

  • this fucking insulting, its not even the full quote of nelson Mandela what a shame

  • @radicalphantom1 Nelson Mandela didn't even write it. How is it an insult?

  • Comment removed

  • @32YG the insulting part is that it isnt even the full poem of the original creator: Marianne Williamson

  • YOUR MISSING A VERSE! THANKS anyway.

  • So fucking true..........

  • well said and thats damn good writing!

  • did anyone else get shivers when he said "you saved my life"?

  • whats the music that they used here when cruz gives the quote??

  • one of the greatest ever quotes

  • Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make

  • rich wa richman rich wa richman

  • "We got shit to do, Sir" Lmao

  • basketball, motherfucker do you play it!?

  • excellent gave me goosebumps. thanks for posting my friend

  • 9 people are living in fear

  • on what officer tenpenny gots his own basketball team.

  • This one quote has motivated me through my years at school, work and in life.

  • whats that song at the end of this video..instrumental?

  • whats that epic song name in the background?

  • This is without a doubt my favourite quote. Unfortuantely however, its origins are credited to both this movie and Nelson Mandela incorrectly. It has been adapted from the book 'A return to love' by Marianne Williamson.

  • i'v watched this movie like 100 times I know that quote of by heart!!! fuck you haters, jus coz u could never produce an amazing speech like that doesn't mean you have to talk it down, lets see you learn English pussy's

  • this speech inspires me :') i feel like happy crying ..

  • CLASSIC!

  • who disliked this??

  • if you say this quote is bullshit then you do not understand the true meaning of the quote.

  • There is everything in rising by making other people small, with hurting them! This everything is happyness and if wished and trained for enlightment, carried by beeing happy.

  • @whatthehell81 there's also no "y" in "happiness

    you need a hug

  • That quote is a bunch of unreal fictional phantasy that has nothing to do with this world!

The more you shine, the more you take away the love from others and put fear into them! Unconciously people get destroyed in their soul and hearts, with others shining too much around them!

  • @whatthehell81 I prefer the original quote better, yours is, how can I put this, SHIT. You spell fantasy with an f by the way, did someone shine and take away your ability to use a dictionary?

  • @whatthehell81 You may want to look at the parts about it is in all of us not just some of us and the part about freeing others to do the same. Insofar as you omit these parts then what you are saying could happen.

  • Comment removed

  • thats bullshit

  • Our deepest fear is saying what again, saying what again, someone daring me, double daring me to say what one more Goddamn time.

  • " We Got Shit To Do Sir " ; Lol

  • Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure.

  • 9 People couldn't be liberated from their own fears

  • my fave sport movie ever

  • the song on the intro is Why I Love You by Shells

  • Can someone fully explain to me this quote. I would really appreciate it

  • @brian092393 it describes that our deepest fear is our fear of not being able to live up to our potential, "we are powerful beyond measure," that we are too great to do fullfill our own destiny, at least thats how ive always interpreted it

  • @Airman32292 i see it as we fear how great we can be. we aren't afraid of being in adequate. we are afraid of fulfilling our destiny, because we are afraid of what it will be. not that we cant fulfil it.

  • @Airman32292 i see it as we fear how great we can be. we aren't afraid of being in adequate. we are afraid of fulfilling our destiny, because we are afraid of what it will be. not that we cant fulfil it.

  • @JacobB1832 yeah thats pretty much how i perceive it, its really deep, theres a michael jordan commercial that has a small reference to that idea, its called look me in the eyes, and he says, "look me in the eyes, its ok if youre scared, so am i. But were scared for different reason, im scared of what i wont become, youre scared of what i could become" really cool quotes, both of them

  • Samuel L. Jackson's reaction (the head movement and the fact he swallows) after he says "you saved my life" is so understated. It really does add something, I know it sounds silly but it really does, it makes it seem so authentic and as though Samuel is really feeling it.

  • and sir i just wanna say thank you...you saved my life.

  • which movie?

  • This poem is written by a women called Marianne Williamson. It is a christian poem but in the movie they changed it.

  • I have the quote blown up and framed in my house. It's one of the first things you see when you walk in. It's powerful and moving. Actually longer than what's in the movie too. But still love this scene.

  • i used this quote in my application for university...great sucess!

  • @maclean22 you sure you got in there bud? "sucess"

  • @maclean22 really ? how did you brought it ?

  • @maclean22 Did it work?

  • @maclean22 kenny you old dog ;)

  • @maclean22 kenny you sly dog, woof woof ;)

  • @maclean22 Are you serious? It's not plagiarism?!

  • @AiBallinErday no because i stated it was mandela who had spoken it before

  • Marianne Williamson from the book A Return to Love

  • I love this quote, I get turned on by these words.. Weird, but fruck it.

  • The best quote !

  • whats the main theme song from 0:14 ?

  • Comment removed

  • Do you guys think the first 2 lines of this poem... "our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure."...would be a good quote as a tattoo in reference to one of my sport teams?

  • @BostonBruins2010 I would just say "Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure"

  • @BostonBruins2010 it would be a great tat...im strongly considering this as a tattoo also

  • @avilesnba the whole thing?

  • @nrenau the whole thing would be amazing, its a lot though and idk if people would be willing to sacrifice that much skin for some ink....just the first two lines, the "our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure"

  • Just letting you all know, this poem was actually contributed by Mariane Williamson. Not by Coach Carter or Nelson Mandela.

  • from 0:04 can someone please tell me the name of the song and artist? i know it samples michael jackson in it that's all i know lol . thanks

  • This is required viewing by everyone who I work with in my business.

  • It's an adapted quote from Marianne Williamson.

  • i always thought this was a Nelson Mandela quote.. i stand corrected..

    inspirational whoeever said it

  • @kingkongblowhorn My friend said EXACTLY the same thing to me today, he probably read your comment, LoL

  • @legendaryspartanking i hope i was quoted correctly :)

  • @kingkongblowhorn Indeed you were, he said those exact words and when I saw your comment I LoL-ed.

  • its not form that mvie its form Marriam Williamson

  • Our Deepest Fear is a Great quote. Sometimes it makes you cry when you listen to this.

  • i love it too they used it in akeelah and the bee too

  • every time i see the movie i cry in this scence

  • U really cant dislike this (very strong words)

  • I love the look everybody gives each other after he makes the speech, they're all like "woah man....that shit was deep"

  • For all those wondering the music used during the speech. It's called 'the apology' and it's part of the original motion picture score by Trevor Rabin. It's not readily available on the net for download but if you pull a few strings like I did you may get hold of it in mp3 format. I recommend trying, it's one of the best movie scores ive heard. You may also be able to get hold of it in .rar format and take it from there.

    Cheers ArchGB

  • I could listen to this speech non stop and not get bored. Nothing short of brilliant

  • Great quote, great film. just finished watching it and it was awesome.

"death smiles at us all, the only thing a man can do is smile back"

  • great quote, great film. just finished watching it and it was awesome.

  • THESE MOVIES SHOW WHY I LOVE SPORTS ITS ABOUT PASSION AND BROTGERHOOD! HOW CAN U HATE SPORTS!?

  • That is a nice speech, so those bloody bastards who dislike it, go screw an other movie, because this is a very good poem !

Maybe you should listen to it before critising it !

So let i let my own light shine, so i give those other people permission to do the same so they can liberate from there own fear

  • this is so tru thanks :)

  • was this written from this from or did someone else say it

  • @JacobB1832 it was in a novel

  • im crying...

  • What is the name of the song that was in the background when he said the speech??

  • 7 people are the ones who are insecure

  • ipodmail??......

  • 7 people fear this quote

  • @24gdizzle you are fucking lame and so is your comment :)

  • who could ever dislike this!

  • I love this.....

  • the actual poem DOESN'T talk about God, it mentions Him twice and i assume Marianne Williamson is Religious so therefore her beliefs revolve around God.

thats probably why this version for the film was changed somewhat, probably so, as to not want to PREsume that all viewers of the film are religious in that same way and instead, in doing so, include MANY people from All walks of life :)

so you dont think I'm an atheist or a God hater, I am actually a Catholic :) Just Saying!

    lov n peace

  • 5 people are still afraid.

  • this is actually an edited version for the movie :( the actual poem talks about god.

  • this is actually an edited version for the movie :( the actual poem talks about god.

  • @dannytoosuperr23 Shells - Why I Love You

  • @dannytoosuperr23 My bad, you mean the inspirational thing.

  • @dannytoosuperr23

its from the coach carter soundtrack.

  • "What is you deepest fear? That you're, inadequate?" Our deepest fear is not that we're inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we're powerful beyond measure.

  • @burninkey Yeah thanks for that

  • some months ago i watched this video and today i've seen the movie, it's made me think. some people think coach carter is one of so many movies about "schools in guettos"but i do not think so. aim spanish and i've need to see it whith subtitles, but i've done it in original version to beein able to hear the differences (f.i. when cruz says "hijo de puta" after his cousin was shooted).

i love this movie, and i think it's gonna be one of the best i'll see in my life =)

  • Best scene in the film,

  • It is our light not darkness that frightens us the most

  • This is One of My top movie moments of all time made me cry

  • this is amazing, seriously hits home.

  • Love this so much.

  • Who the hell would dislike this?

  • i fucking love this movie and freedom writers, it's easy to point fingers and hate, its harder to love and forgive, and a lot of times the right thing to do, is the hardest things to do

  • @hiimjon1990 get the fuck out mate, and step into reality. You talk like you know this shit? Go out there and preach that.

  • the 5 dislikers cant let there light shine . . . .
