the actual poem DOESN'T talk about God, it mentions Him twice and i assume Marianne Williamson is Religious so therefore her beliefs revolve around God.

thats probably why this version for the film was changed somewhat, probably so, as to not want to PREsume that all viewers of the film are religious in that same way and instead, in doing so, include MANY people from All walks of life :)
