Does the ball ever get bit? I just rescued a baby ball that had three bite marks on it so I buy the mice, kill it and then feed it to my ball. Atleast it is still fresh, warm and moving a bit. I was just wondering. Also, how do you boost up the humidity in the tank? Im having probs with this.

The main issue with live feeds (other than the risk of the rat damaging the snake) is that when a mammal is stressed, their thiamine and endorphine levels increase massively, which can prove potentially detrimental to the snake.

It doesn't do them any short term harm, but can potentially reduce the life of the snake, although I've no idea by how much.

Having said that, I know a guy who has fed his corns on live prey for years, and they're some of the healthiest I've seen.
