Sungha wears a thumb pick, and fingerpicks made by aLaskaPiks on his forefinger, middle finger, and ring finger of his right hand. His little finger is used mostly as a brace or a means to keep his hand in proper position.

On many of his older videos, he plays without picks. An MC on a Korean TV show even commented once that Sungha had developed callouses on his fingertips.

By the way, aLaskaPiks provides Sungha with his picks for free, under a sponsorship agreement.

1) The brand name of the picks he uses is clearly stated on the websites kept by him and his dad. You can tell which fingers he wears them on simply by looking at his videos. (?)

2) His dad's site mentions that his fingerpicks are sponsored.

3) If you look at his older videos, you can see that he is not using picks. One of his videos shows him on a TV show, where the MC examines his fingers, and comments on his callouses.

There's nothing mysterious about any of this.

well, that's what separates the good from the greats. There is a guy who is temporarily staying in my co-op (coincidentally, i go to berkeley) who plays the piano several hours a day, and never gets tired of it. He's been playing for 7 years, and he's extremely good.
