@Brian3514 Thanks! One of the first videos I ever made. I still have the pedal, too, and it's still great. Kudos to Michael Ibrahim for introducing me to the bottomless pit that is boutique guitar pedals.. :)
Just gotta say thanks so much for making this demo. I was thinking of buying it because it has dual fuzz and OD modes, but since you said the fuzz isn't usable that keeps me getting this thing.
I'm looking for a crunchy overdrive to get similar tones to live RHCP crunch (without using a ds-2), would this pedal be able to do that? I have the hardwire tube overdrive but it doesn't quite get that punchy crunchyness needed, it's more of a classic overdrive.
Fantastic demonstration of the versatility of this pedal and its responsiveness when working off the guitar's volume and various pickup options on the tele. Great playing, great recording & delectable sound!
No, I couldn't use it and I actually had the toggle removed by Michael Ibrahim after I pushed it in one day. Doh! So this is a custom job of sorts. :)
is this a good gain boost for a semi clean amp to get a '60s-'70s rock tone like grand funk railroad, the who, the mighty led zepps, purple and other stars? by semi clean i mean blues junior, jtm45 kind of amps....;)
Would this pedal be any good to use as a booster/tone shaper in front of a high gain amp? Can't find any vids of anyone trying it like that. Or would it have a bit too much hair on it? Would I be better off with Maxon/Ibanez 808?
@colmonic in front of a high gain amp im not so sure, but you can drop the gain knob all the way down and it gives a nice clean boost. the only thing might be that the pedal drops a lot of tone, and even with the tone knob at the max the signal comes out fat. you might like it though, i love this thing and take it with me everywhere :)
good demo, too. do you use the fuzz or overdrive setting?
I had Micheal Ibrahim remove the Fuzz toggle after I snapped one off one day. So this is a custom job - sort of! Thanks for watching. Have a great 2010. :)
Thanks, I'm pretty fond of it too. It's pretty hard to beat a Tele; sounds great, super fast neck, unpretentious look, lightish - cool as f@#k. Every home should have one! :)
OK, I'm with you. Story: Michael Ibrahim went out of his way and caught a bus to my gig to replace a pedal that I'd buggered up - on the same day his warehouse was robbed entirely of its contents. Now that's service! Serious props to Mr Ibrahim. :)
Great playing great demo killer sounding pedal. it seems like lots of people are fond of this pedal. I'm gonna have to go out and find someone who carries this so I can try it out.
good work

Haven't got one yet. Santa got me socks again so I'll have to wait and see....
Like the look of the new tonebug OD now though. I'll probably want something else tomorrow....
