So you are telling me that a 175hp SC or NA Miata cannot beat the 320hp Miata on this track? He better do consistent 1:56's and not a 1:59 like the last RTA event there. My opinion is maybe not 160hp but a less than 200 hp Miata can beat his time. Your car is loose in this video with sticky tires so his suspension must be terrible. It took him many many times just to break 2:00 minutes.
Matt blew his stroker on Sat, put a stock MSM bottom end in for Sun, turned the boost down and retarded timing. Way down on power so the1:59 means nothing.
If a <200whp Miata on NT01's can go under 1:56 at BW13, I'd certainly like to see it.
SM in NASA events are in the 2:05's on 13CW now. Those are 30-50k cars with $6-9000 dollar long blocks. My best in an underprepared SM on 13CW is a 2:08 I think. EP record is an RX7 at about 1:56 I think. Word is the best make about 125whp where the OGK makes about 150whp on an equivalent dyno. I have yards more grip though.
1.58.9 is pretty damn impressive... errr intimidating! I'll be on my Azeni 215's until they wear out ;-) ... I'm gonna need a Miata Challenge Window Sticker pretty soon Mr. 949...
I could not find any Miata running slicks ever on this track except you? I did find a Turbo Miata using a stroker kit running 1:55~1:56 lap on NT-01's. A NA Miata should be able to do that on this track IMO.
In your opinion a 160hp Miata is as fast as Matt Andrews RTA winning 320hp Miata? Dude, you need to get out more often, or at least buy a calculator:) It was a 1:56.187 in practice for SLB, not a 1:55. By the way, that's the driver I sponsor that I mentioned in the PM. Reason I was anywhere close to Matt's time is my suspension works a little better than his and I had much faster tires.
Same size as the NT01, 225/45/15. I figure the A6 is about 2~2.5 sec faster than the NT01 on a track that length. Savington did a 2:00.7 in his turbo after pulling a bunch of timing (down on power) on the same NT01's when it was 95° or so. Pretty sure he could have matched my high 1:58 with had he run in the morning with me.
Way to throw that baby around Emilio, enjoyed this!

Still a good time with the NT-01's. What size Hoosiers 225?

Nice! I like the Go-GO! hand signs! Those are slippery little cars at buttonwillow. I want one so badly....

Reminds me of a motocross rider: always slightly out of control. Fun to watch!
