I honestly dont know how to transfer the songs. But I know if you have a wireless router you can listen to songs from your pc to your ps3 using the windows media center function

I should hope so. The software version should have nothing to do with it. The sony bluetooth device is a transmitter/receiver so it does all of the work regardless of what type of Ipod/Iphone u have

No. What I meant is the 2nd gen iPod Touch has BlueTooth built in, but only 3.0 software unlocks the capabilities.

Anyway, I tried it last night exactly like how you did and it works for a brief second (plays through my TV) but then stops playing...? Wondered if you know why?

Oh I wasnt aware of that. If it has built in bluetooth you should be able to sync it with the playstation minus the bluetooth transmitter/receiver. Put you Iphone into pairing mode then scan for devices using the PS3 and see if it recognizes it.
