actually I gave up on shooting from the dash, It was too noisy and unstable. I have actually started using a tripod mounted between the seats as it is more secure and gives a wider view angle. Glad you liked it!
I live in Lombard, IL and just the snow we had hear today (12/26/09) was nut's. I'm a Commercial Driver for AutoZone (I just drive a little rear wheel drive Ford Ranger) and just trying to drive really slow was hard with out my tail coming out from under me.
I used a tripod between the seats mounted down with elastic shock cords so that it can not move or tip. I tried dash mounting it and a couple of other options but in the end I had to go with that as it was the only way to keep it secure, out of the way, and so it could not be in a position where it could be claimed as distracting as it is out of my line of sight when it is running.
