ha actually its a more traditonal way of playing. some kid taught me to do it. you just play with all your fingers. you move your hand like youre flicking water at someone. its hard to explain. but he plays like that so he can play faster and he doesnt need a pick. when you play acoustic guitar fast with a pick its easy to drop it.

Maybe it's that I can't relate to these lyrics, as you cannot relate to Conor's lyrics. Sure, I like Conor's music because I've been through some hard break up's and I can relate to his lyrics, but that does not make me emo in any way, being upset over a break up is completely normal.

Conor's lyrics paint a picture, Andrew's lyrics however are boring as hell to me.

That's my opinion, everyone is entitled to one, I felt like expressing mine. Why? Because I'm a proud asshole at times.

art should be happy and optimistic. thats "how i learned how to survive" haha.

folk punk has some good songs about depression too, but it always ends on a high note. i suggest you do some more searching and listen to some more folk punk. if youre into depressing stuff listen to Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains.

I think that's really close-minded to think that art should be only happy and optimistic; it should be whatever you want it today, that's the beauty of it.

Great art has come from emotion, as well has art that is considered happy - it's not really always all about being happy.

I wouldn't say I'm really into stuff that's "depressing", it's more of that I'm interested in stuff I can relate to, as is anybody. I love anything from metal, to classical, and to some "real" well written rap.

I've never listened to Dr. Octagon, but I've heard many good things about him, I'll check it out.

My favorite hip hop artists are Atmosphere, Tupac, Aesop Rock, and Eminem; all very talented writers.

I think music is good when it's depressing sometimes, because it's a good feeling to know that other people know exactly how you feel, no matter what emotion it is though actually.

It's just differnent lyric writting styles, this song takes a more objective view on life.

If you like more dark and metaphorical writing i would suggest the microphones or opeth if you don't already listen to them.

I guess this just isn't something I enjoy, everyone has different taste. I really do like something in every genre though.

I do like some dark writing, but I mainly like lyrics that are just about life, or anything mysterious-like for that matter.

I guess everyone draws out a certain meaning from the lyrics to a song to something in their life, which is why they like the song, but I just couldn't relate to AJJ's stuff.

Opeth is alright. I like the kinda writing Between The Buried and Me does.
