Don't let those cool calm dispatch voices fool you. You have to stay calm. It helps no one if the call-taker gives in to emotions.
I worked 9-1-1 dispatch in Tx and I finally had to quit because I began to suffer from PTSD. It doesn't pay to have a soft heart in this job. It will kill you.
I was on my way home and it was pretty late at night and all of Sherman was just sirens wherever you were you could just hear emergency vehicles. What a horrible thing.
i don't like how the last 911 operator acted like she was in high school and someone just gave her some really cool info...what the f is up with these operators nowadays???
I have to agree, she freaks out hearing 30 ppl, dont get me wrong, she immediatly sent that to dispatch, but she needs to keep herself calm because she is the link between those on scene and rescuers in route.
you can not be serious...She was doing 10 other things while taking that call...Im sure you have never worked in such a job..I have!!!..Shes doing exactly what she has been trained to do...She did an amazing job..and you are clueless!!! Do you not hear her relay the information that they had 30 people on the bus??? then she takes yet another call...not to metion the fact that she had just dispatched...Fire, Emt. Police
@Rubyonerose I don't know if you both realize this, but listen to it again, She wasn't acting like it was cool info, she was relaying the info to another dispatcher... so they could start immediately w/ dispatching more resources
1/2 Yet again, another tragic demonstration of what happens when this type of bus rolls down an embankment. First problem...so many fitted without seatbelts or 'flawed' lap belts. Second - seats that are fitted by way of a track system (so the operator can easily change the spacing when adding more seats) which often buckles up and in some cases with passengers strapped in, cant take the load and break free altogether. Third - the huge glass windows with thin minimal roof structure supports
2/2....may give a good view but result in very poor load bearing capabilities in a roll, often resulting in the entire roof completely collapsing or shearing off, Forth - the huge window areas go down well below the shoulder line resulting in passengers limbs on their upper body being at risk from impacting (or being scrapped) on the ground outside if the bus goes on its side and the glass shatters. All these things were known about years ago. So little has been done.

Trains - Operators negligence of switches, faulty rails and bridges, mostly safety related problems.
Buses - In foreign countries:Terrorist bombings, and high speed accidents.
Subway - Terrorist related bombings and attacks.

this isn't a very legitimate way of sending out your message. People are less likely to contact someone over Youtube about this matter...
