Question: I have a new online entity that has not been entered into the search engines. I have been using twitter and another social network to gain exposure. The site that I created is basically a temp site until I complete coding for the site I will actually use. Is it critical to submit the site to the search engines? While watching you video, you mentioned some interesting points that relate to how google + pages could potentially help ranking. Now, on the flip side, wots worst senario
I created a Google Plus brand page with the idea that Google would have designed an engaging an interactive page for business owners and fans. Turns out it was just as bland as G-Mail. Brand pages should "pop" to me. And it should be engaging and very interactive to your customers. Not liking it so far. I've seen the Twitter Brand pages and they are on point. I can't wait for them to release it to the public.
As Google is the biggest fish in search engines, that's the main drive for success in their Chrome browser, though I can see Google+ picking up more users down the road, but they need to add more features and get more word out there of their social network. I see Facebook being a strong network for the next few years to come though. And Google "anything" is successful, because they are the main information highway, of all search engines.
personally, i think even if you don't really use it for right now, you should go ahead and create a page with your company brand name, if for nothing else, it keeps others from cyber squatting on your brand if you do get big enough to warrant it.
I HAVE A VER SERIOUS ISSUE, HOPE YOU CAN HELP: I'm a partner now and have monetization enabled on one of my videos, problem is i keep getting this email from Youtube, "Please provide written documentation that you have all necessary commercial rights to make money from your content." WTF!??? It's 100% original content all created myself and showing no "softwares....etc", i know ALL the rules trust me. How in the Hell do you provide written documentation of rights for something YOU made?
No social platform targeted at the masses stays clean for long. I agree...G+ looks really sharp right now, but take a picture...it won't last long.
I could not care less about PR or dofollow links.
Marketers need to stop looking for new tools and start rocking the ones they already have! I see way too many people making this more complicated than it really is. Peace :-)

I personally think this won't survive. Facebook relies quite a lot on minors (under 18 year olds). But these minors don't have 'business' or want to have a 'google' account. I don't really care too much for it.

This is not what the internet and search is all about....Google says they promote content, but if your content is used on their search results but the Google Plus site ranks better, then the un-biased results will be lowered on search.... no quality. @Tiiberius I use my own url to create forwards to my media sites (ie: keithbloemendaal dot me/plus) I use a quick redirect plugin on my wordpress site and away I go....
@Tiiberius you can do like for affiliate links, use a redirect on your own site. Lisa has a video about how she does it for her affiliate links. You can do the same for any url, so including google plus pages.

Google+ will fizzle away like Buzz. The Google pages won't have much, if any, impact. The fact their pages is going to be "dofollow" is a desperate move to attract businesses. They will only attract spammers. Every single web site Google owns is "nofollow", and Google+ and their pages will be too.
I won't use their pages, Facebook is where everyone is. Only businesses and webmasters are their, not teens, parents, or friends, they're on Facebook. Google will succeed, when they are fun.

I use google plus for myself (+Mark Serrano) and my website +mixtapemonkey. I disagree with you calling google+ being a social network because its really different and they aren't trying to be facebook because facebook is facebook. There isn't a need for another one. I hear that they will be merging everything together (google, g+, youtube, blogger, reader, etc). Apparently you will able to access everything with one username and password. they have bigger plans for google+.
Idk, I didn't get overly excited when I heard about it, but now I see no reason not to make one, so why the hell not. That's kinda my approach with everything haha
I think Google could make Google+ more successful if they added more intuitive features, like what Facebook has already, and then some, and it may be possible for them to make it successful. With Google being a top search engine for ten years, as anything could throw them off, I think they know their search engine stuff more than anything else, where microsoft knows operating systems more than anything else. Microsoft cant substitute something google has mastered IMO.
I use g+, its a lot cleaner, and handles privacy better than other social networks, and the way it handles the feeds, well it's for me, better than twitter, and facebook, its like a combination of both but "improved"

Tried it, sucks. And, you know over time G+ is gonna change just like every other social network does, besides facebook is still hopping. All I see over there about G+ is how lame it is. I'm not alone on thinking this.
