Diago is a great fighter. But he is beatable. The first round he was under genuine pressure as Sagat had him blocking for long periods. Anyone who can play Ryu really well will beat him.
@Abirxtreme0001 Yes you can beat him EVEN with him using ryu. Ryu's strength lies "up close" and at "mid-range" where he can jump over projectile attacks. The first thing to do is NEVER jump towards him. Let him COME TO YOU! It takes a heck of alot of practice and confidence but it can be done. Remember, always seek encouragement from the weakness of others, in Daigo's case, a "relatively" slow fighter like Sagat had him backing up and blocking in the first round.

In SFIV daigo is top ranked in win percentage with something like 86% win rate followed by ojisan and mago. with 81% and 79% win rates respectively. but in Super Turbo or 3rd strike, daigo is not the best. people say daigo is the best Street Fighter player ever, as in the entire series of SF games. this years evo tourney daigo came in 4th on HD remix. Im not hating on daigo, just makin sure people know whats up before they ride his nuts.

@ArmenianAssassin I believe that. But broken is not what I'd call him as he should THEN be fixed in SSF 4. But Sagat's overpowered effects still remain which means the developers want it that way for the less skilled. Look on the character ranking stats right now and you can see how much users are progressing with Ryu, Ken or any other hadouken. Kinda sad how easy it is for EVERYONE to have 4000 or 5000 BP using these fighters.
@Lionsblood sagat does way less damage now. His tiger uppercut damage output alone has been cut by 50% and that helps a lot when you are trying to win against him. Before, you would do 3 or 4 good moves on sagat and he'd tie you with just one move. Not so anymore. I dont want him nerfed to the point where he is useless because I like his style and use him but sometimes it hurts the game
@iheartipecac The hadouken fighters ARE cheap. That don't mean I shouldn't like looking at vids of people using them. We all know it is EASY to shoot guns at someone. But does that make us enjoy seeing shooting in movies any less? No. We know that one who shoots and kills Bruce Lee with a gun does not mean one is more skilled than him. Therefore, we KNOW that using the hadoukens and beating people does not mean skill. They are EASY to use. People like me know better where others somehow, do not.
And onto your actual "arguments". How is a fireball character cheap when they're left completely vulnerable immediately following a ranged attack? There are dozens of methods for characters to make their way through, over, and under fireballs. Who says you even need to get past the fireball in the first place? If you have the life lead in match, why advance at all? Sit back and jump over those fireballs and win with a time-out...or is that "cheap"?

For vulnerablity to be a factor I would have to be close enough. If I'm far, that vulnerable shit won't be an issue. The only time they are COMPLETELY vulnerable is after a missed Ultra. Besides, a shoryuken can usually be executed very soon after a hadouken. Sure, you can win by time out. Not cheap if the foe is cheap already.

@anhkhoashevakt Yes. That is true. Guile is one of them. I don't like how he can grab seemingly ANY attack out of the air. It's bad enough he can throw sonic booms instantly and can immediately block or flash kick afterwards. Kinda makes it difficult if you're trying time it to catch him with an Ultra Combo or any other attack. At least with the hadouken fighters they're a bit vulnerable after throwing hadoukens.
@ 1:15 if Mago had of released the focus attack rather than dashing back he would have taken the round, big risk by Daigo & big mistake by Mago & i'm sure he knows it

In SFIV daigo is top ranked in win percentage with something like 86% win rate followed by ojisan and mago. with 81% and 79% win rates respectively. but in Super Turbo or 3rd strike, daigo is not the best. people say daigo is the best Street Fighter player ever, as in the entire series of SF games. this years evo tourney daigo came in 4th on HD remix. Im not hating on daigo, just makin sure people know whats up before they ride his nuts.

@TJhandford524 best as in all round best sf player. daigo has been in the top 10 at 1 point in just about EVERY SF game, so i think the point is valid. granted im not saying he is the best, but he is a contender. he won sfa3 japan nationals and world, ST won both SBO and EVO. 3s won SBO and runner up twice in evo. i believe he won or came 2nd at cvs 2 at evo, also runner up at SBO. the best ST and 3s players are only known for that game, daigo was know for every SF at one time. he's def up there

And I dont think that just because daigo is or has been top ranked in every game means hes the best all around street fighter player. Bruce lee once said, " I do not fear the man who has practiced 10000 kicks once, but i fear the man who has practiced one kick 10000 times." I think that philosophy holds true to this too.

u misunderstood what best all around means. a guy practiced 1 kick a 1000x is only best at 1 kick! thats my point. daigo is by no means the best at any SF but all around hes up there. and what bruce said doesnt apply, bruce never competed at top level of any combat sports. the words of people who did. its like saying Ali, who practiced an array of punches, should fear someone who only practiced uppercuts. that logic is flawed because that guy would never amount to anything in the sport of boxing

@ArmenianAssassin I believe that. But broken is not what I'd call him as he should THEN be fixed in SSF 4. But Sagat's overpowered effects still remain which means the developers want it that way for the less skilled. Look on the character ranking stats right now and you can see how much users are progressing with Ryu, Ken or any other hadouken. Kinda sad how easy it is for EVERYONE to have 4000 or 5000 BP using these fighters.

@Lionsblood sagat does way less damage now. His tiger uppercut damage output alone has been cut by 50% and that helps a lot when you are trying to win against him. Before, you would do 3 or 4 good moves on sagat and he'd tie you with just one move. Not so anymore. I dont want him nerfed to the point where he is useless because I like his style and use him but sometimes it hurts the game

@iheartipecac The hadouken fighters ARE cheap. That don't mean I shouldn't like looking at vids of people using them. We all know it is EASY to shoot guns at someone. But does that make us enjoy seeing shooting in movies any less? No. We know that one who shoots and kills Bruce Lee with a gun does not mean one is more skilled than him. Therefore, we KNOW that using the hadoukens and beating people does not mean skill. They are EASY to use. People like me know better where others somehow, do not.

And onto your actual "arguments". How is a fireball character cheap when they're left completely vulnerable immediately following a ranged attack? There are dozens of methods for characters to make their way through, over, and under fireballs. Who says you even need to get past the fireball in the first place? If you have the life lead in match, why advance at all? Sit back and jump over those fireballs and win with a time-out...or is that "cheap"?

For vulnerablity to be a factor I would have to be close enough. If I'm far, that vulnerable shit won't be an issue. The only time they are COMPLETELY vulnerable is after a missed Ultra. Besides, a shoryuken can usually be executed very soon after a hadouken. Sure, you can win by time out. Not cheap if the foe is cheap already.

@anhkhoashevakt Yes. That is true. Guile is one of them. I don't like how he can grab seemingly ANY attack out of the air. It's bad enough he can throw sonic booms instantly and can immediately block or flash kick afterwards. Kinda makes it difficult if you're trying time it to catch him with an Ultra Combo or any other attack. At least with the hadouken fighters they're a bit vulnerable after throwing hadoukens.
