If you look at the facts (Catwoman's importance, popularity, fame etc.), it is pretty OBVIOUS that Talia isn't a character who can even be compared with a character like Catwoman.

When asked if the Penguin was going to be in The Dark Knight...Nolan replied "No, the Penguin is too far-fetched"...I doubt he changed his opinion on that. The last villain I would ever want is the Penguin.
@SLPIFan I'm glad he thinks that because I think the Penguin sucks: he has no classic comic stories or episodes from BTAS simply because he is not scary or psychotic or a fighter or a genius, or even interesting...he is a campy villain, for a more silly Batman, like in the 60s. If you do a silly Batman, then Penguin is perfect. WB forced Tim Burton to use him in Batman Returns (he wanted Two-Face) Burton changed the Penguin so much that he was more of a cross between Killer Croc and the Joker.
He doesn't need to be campy though. I mean it's fine that you don't like him, that's perfectly all right, but Penguin can be a dark character, just not in the same way as Batman Returns. I think being a dark, shady, ruthless mobster with an inner animal masked by a proper gentleman persona would be great for the Nolan movies.
Burton has full creative control for Batman Returns, a condition of him doing the sequel, so the studio really couldn't have forced him to do anything.
It's been documented that Burton wanted to use Two-Face, that is why he had Billy Dee Williams in Batman 89. The studio felt that Two-Face wasn't well known, but that the Penguin was famous in the 60s campy show, the "suggested" that Burton use the Penguin. Again, he has no classic storylines...comic book writers don't even use him anymore and in the cartoons he was relegated to owning a night club called the Iceberg lounge...no one knows what the hell to do with Penguin because he is ridiculous
No, he himself had Harvey cut from the film because he only wanted it to be loosely connected to the original, why I don't know. His contract and main condition for returning was complete creative control, so the studio couldn't have forced him to do anything.
And why they did the lounge thing was because it was in the comics, and having him as a crooked businessman is a way to make him work. He isn't an unrealistic character, and not really that ridiculous if done right.
@SLPIFan Every comic I've read with Penguin in it (even the joker's asylum version which was pretty dark) just has his thugs get beat up by bats, has him get threatened by bats, then he gives up info and batman leaves. I'm sorry, but they can do a lot better than Penguin. And as far as Catwoman goes, tired of her, if a girl has to be in this movie use Talia al Ghul since they have the set up for her.

But the Nolan movies take place in an early stage of Batman's life, so if Catwoman will be in the next movie, she will be an antiheroine. Besides, the fact that Catwoman isn't evil like the rest of the villains is not a negative or boring thing, even though you desperately try to make it sound that way. She is in an unique position between good (Batman) and evil (the other villains), which is interesting.

I disagree, try reading Catwoman: When In Rome, by Jeph Loeb, she is more of a parallel of Batman than a contrast (like the Joker). Batman and Catwoman both are physically skilled and cunning... but Batman is selfless and she is selfish, she not only profits from her thefts, she ENJOYS breaking the law, she gets a thrill from stealing the most difficult things to steal. She is possibly Batman's most dangerous villain because she is alluring, he is tempted to fall for her and be just like her.

I think Angelina Jolie would make an awesome Catwoman. She can act, she's always a bad ass, she can just pull it off overall. Someone said it was to be Megan Fox, and I think that's bull shit because she can't act to save her life. And she is way to overrated.

I am not Chris Nolan, but since Rachel Dawes is dead, there is an opening for a love interest. Not every movie that has a love interest becomes a "chick flick". It is interesting because she is a temptress, if Batman falls for her, then he will betray his own convictions. The "villain" could be any number of characters. I think the Riddler would be interesting, but this is all just speculation.
I hope that catwoman is in the next batman 3 film. Nolan must make it worth it though! and im sure he can, he did pick the purrfect characters to play in THE DARK KNIGHT didnt he? Especially with Heath, he made a great decision, so why wouldnt he with the next film by placing catwoman in there?

@MR8M I completely understand what you mean, and I certainly agree with you... at least to a certain degree. Yes, I am a Catwoman fan, but I'm not defending Catwoman because of that. I am not biased. If you look at the facts (Catwoman's importance, popularity, fame etc.), it is pretty OBVIOUS that Talia isn't a character who can even be compared with a character like Catwoman.

@SLPIFan I'm glad he thinks that because I think the Penguin sucks: he has no classic comic stories or episodes from BTAS simply because he is not scary or psychotic or a fighter or a genius, or even interesting...he is a campy villain, for a more silly Batman, like in the 60s. If you do a silly Batman, then Penguin is perfect. WB forced Tim Burton to use him in Batman Returns (he wanted Two-Face) Burton changed the Penguin so much that he was more of a cross between Killer Croc and the Joker.

He doesn't need to be campy though. I mean it's fine that you don't like him, that's perfectly all right, but Penguin can be a dark character, just not in the same way as Batman Returns. I think being a dark, shady, ruthless mobster with an inner animal masked by a proper gentleman persona would be great for the Nolan movies.
Burton has full creative control for Batman Returns, a condition of him doing the sequel, so the studio really couldn't have forced him to do anything.

It's been documented that Burton wanted to use Two-Face, that is why he had Billy Dee Williams in Batman 89. The studio felt that Two-Face wasn't well known, but that the Penguin was famous in the 60s campy show, the "suggested" that Burton use the Penguin. Again, he has no classic storylines...comic book writers don't even use him anymore and in the cartoons he was relegated to owning a night club called the Iceberg lounge...no one knows what the hell to do with Penguin because he is ridiculous

No, he himself had Harvey cut from the film because he only wanted it to be loosely connected to the original, why I don't know. His contract and main condition for returning was complete creative control, so the studio couldn't have forced him to do anything.
And why they did the lounge thing was because it was in the comics, and having him as a crooked businessman is a way to make him work. He isn't an unrealistic character, and not really that ridiculous if done right.

I'm sorry, but they can do a lot better than Penguin. And as far as Catwoman goes, tired of her, if a girl has to be in this movie use Talia al Ghul since they have the set up for her.

@Sydpart2 Catwoman is more of an antiheroine, and later on she kind of becomes a vigilante. But the Nolan movies take place in an early stage of Batman's life, so if Catwoman will be in the next movie, she will be an antiheroine. Besides, the fact that Catwoman isn't evil like the rest of the villains is not a negative or boring thing, even though you desperately try to make it sound that way. She is in an unique position between good (Batman) and evil (the other villains), which is interesting.

I disagree, try reading Catwoman: When In Rome, by Jeph Loeb, she is more of a parallel of Batman than a contrast (like the Joker). Batman and Catwoman both are physically skilled and cunning... but Batman is selfless and she is selfish, she not only profits from her thefts, she ENJOYS breaking the law, she gets a thrill from stealing the most difficult things to steal. She is possibly Batman's most dangerous villain because she is alluring, he is tempted to fall for her and be just like her.

Meow. I love it. I really hope Catwoman makes it into Nolans 3rd batman sequel, I am very interested in what he might bring for the character. I love doing Catwoman impressions. Catwoman has been my favorite strong willed woman of all time ever since i had been introduced to her.

to be fair,i dont think catwoman can be a greater villian as the joker,no way, Im sorry but the idea of a woman in tight clothing,trying to LURE batman & co is in no way thrilling than the joker,UNLESS they introduce a bit more anarchy to the story and upset the established order.

in that case without a villian(!!!) in the story will either appear to be a chickflick /romcom or a mindless action flick...and I doubt that Nolan will flush all his work down the drain by doing so.

I am not Chris Nolan, but since Rachel Dawes is dead, there is an opening for a love interest. Not every movie that has a love interest becomes a "chick flick". It is interesting because she is a temptress, if Batman falls for her, then he will betray his own convictions. The "villain" could be any number of characters. I think the Riddler would be interesting, but this is all just speculation.

I hope that catwoman is in the next batman 3 film. Nolan must make it worth it though! and im sure he can, he did pick the purrfect characters to play in THE DARK KNIGHT didnt he? Especially with Heath, he made a great decision, so why wouldnt he with the next film by placing catwoman in there?

Its nice to hear positive conclusions about Michelles catwoman character. Michelle Pfeiffer was phenomenal. purrfect. I guess she is the reason why i do catwoman impressions. Im not so sure... But i am so pumped about what new flavor of cat Nolan might bring to the big screen.. That is .. IF he chooses Catwoman to be in the 3rd sequel.

Given the ending to TDK, Catwoman would fit in PERFECTLY with the third film. She's essential to Batman, just like The Joker and Two-Face, and Nolan shouldn't be too stupid to realize that. Goyer, yes, but not Nolan.

cher will destroy catwoman and the movie. Just like the fake venom ruined spiderman 3. Catwoman is same age as batman. Catwoman is agile, graceful, sexy, anti-hero we all love. Every comic you ever read or animated series, she been young and beautiful. Only Frank Miller messed up one comic series of catwoman. And the movies were horribly wrong. Shes not magical but a thief with martial arts, agile.

As much as I like this video, and the idea presented, there is NO WAY that Catwoman will be in the next movie. Pitof destroyed all hopes of that happening with that shitty movie that starred Halle Berry. And no, the movie isn't her fault-it's Pitof's!
