man if we`re talking about the LA music scene, it was MOTLEY CRUE that started everything - the music , the looks, the attitude, the mayhem, etc, etc. All sleazy bands that came after them were just cheap followers and tried to copy exactly everything that Motley first invented.
Damn, I had that EP, an original one, and it was great, had to sell it and nowadays you can get one on Ebay for 40 or 50 dollars....I wish I didn´t had to sell it, because it kicked ass.
well... elvis, john wayne, motley, guns, ratt etc. whatever kind of real 'band' at the time... they recreated and kept the true spirit of rock n roll alive back then...

@mphrdldn probably came from all the lifting he did from the club days. He loaded all his own gear and that drum riser they used was a beast to set-up and tear down.
@mphrdldn I totally respect Ratt for what they did and how they came up through the ranks. They earned everything they got. I haven't read Bobby's book and probably won't. I'm not going to bad mouth him, but I'm not one of his biggest fans. But hey, if you read it, let me know what you thought about it.

@ 2:54 the marqee has Cirith Ungol playing with Ratt. Cirith Ungol is a really good underground band that never got big. i was shocked to see them on there. cool!
I think that its funny that Motley is getting credit for cracking open the LA scene, when it was Quiet Riot and the "Metal Health" album that did it. And "Shout" did not come out in '82, it came out in '83. I remember very well. BTW, "Theatre" sucks ass as an album, and even "Girls" only had like 3 good songs on it. Very sad about Robbin Crosby. RATT had good musicians, but Stephen Pearcy sucks as a singer.
@resqfireman metal health was a hit before Shout, but I think the 2 bands being similiar is what blew open the scene, when you had 2 metal/glam bands for LA made everyone check it out. Plus quiet riot fell a part pretty quickly
@BobReidy i dunno, if you've read the dirt you might think vince got the most pussy. when he had to stay sober he would line up 5-10 girls and run a sexual obstical course.
