  • well by the end of the video he is rid of his paddle thats for sure!

I say make a life line (safety line what ever you call it), just a simple rope around the boat (from point to poit bough sides), you can stick your paddle under it and go in the boat and your paddle is still there. you need a life line anyway, if your in the water you want to crap that line and hold on, even when you have a safety jacked its a good idea to have (and cost nothing)

    *sorry for bad english*

  • @bLoodykNuklz

NEGATIVE my friend.......the price tag matters depending on the type for kayaking you plan on doing. if your a camper you need to buy one that has more storage and the price tag is higher. if you are just going you float around your price tag is going to be cheaper. so it does matter i just learned this today from a kayak shop.

  • Thank you! I was thinking about getting a kayak ...

  • Don’t try entering your kayak in a body of water that is a muddy along the shore with thong sandals. Your thong sandals might get stuck in the mud, causing you to lose your balance…. Wear foot gear that will protect your feet from stepping on broken glass, and fish hooks, that are secure around your feet and ankles.

  • I'm gonna get one from dicks.

But it doesn't come with footpegs, and Im not sure what they are, if you need them, and how to install them :P

  • is it better with a boat for one

or having a kayak that fits 2-4 people

  • can't see the stupid video cuz the script is all over the screen..thanks

  • This has been my BIG question too. I'm getting ready to start kayaking, and I have been wondering how to get in and out of the darned thing. This is good, basic, common sense stuff.

  • Good tips! Thanks!

  • Like this video - great for beginners although my local paddling seems to require a dock side entry.

  • thanks im starting kayaking tomarrow im excited! :)

  • Jesus! We aren't all ace kayakers - I agree with maddiehammer. For people like me who just bought a cheap kayak for some fun this video is great and very informative. The guy is showing us what to do in a similar sort of boat most beginners will have. What the hell is wrong with that? If you want instruction on an Olympic kayak go and pay someone to teach you - why do some of you people have to be so bloody pretentious?

  • is that a white water boat?

  • no i don't think so i'm a kayaker i play canoe polo, race slalom & do white water and this doesn't look like a very good kayak loll

  • god all of you haters, he's just helping out. i just got a kayak today and this helps me out.

  • how about showing it in a kayak and not a ferry..

  • Now lets see him do that on a boat that isn't 3 feet wide.

  • haha yh wadda crap vid .... i expected him to get in from on the side not standing in the water aswell1

  • good point try geting into a k1 without the dock

  • Very stable boat you got there with a huge cockpit, I think it may have helped telling people to keep their weight in the center of the boat, good tips though for that kind of canoe

  • Yay--these are great instructional vids for those of us who are newbs.

  • Any tips for getting in when the water is a little deeper (mid thigh) and the footing is more uncertain (slippery and sharp rocks)?

  • it's not easier

  • Good video. I am planning on getting a kayak and have NEVER had one. This type of stuff is good for newbies!!

  • @Gimpdiggity I have had 5 in my life time.

The one ive got now is a really good one too, didnt pay stupid amounts of money for it either.

Go white water kayaking loads of fun too, only problem is, it had a hole in it because of the last time I went kayaking, so took some plastic off the ridge part of the kayak and melted it with a blow torch onto the hole so its all ok now.

Dont use a kayak for sledging pml, just wrecks it!

  • @Gimpdiggity Never had one! Your gonna love it trust me! Dont get frustrated by the "straight line problem" it always sorts itself out ;)

  • @Gimpdiggity Like to hear it kayaking is amazing its a one of the kind thing. what type of kayaking are you gonna start doing
