@synasta562 I'm also khmer and understand how you feel, but everything is peaceful now, so stop taking the argument or any things between our country and others to say again and again, especially argument between Thailand and Cambodia. Even I'm khmer, but I think that most thai people also didn't want this to happen. No one wanted it to happen. Let's stop wasting time to hate. It's useless! We should spend the time to develop our country!
French explorer found Angkor Wat, but Kamen people never know that there were exist on Cambodia. Amazing, That 's why French must ruled this country or a long time.
I have been travelling to Siem Reap for over ten years now from my home in Malaysia and take groups of students to support Savong's charity school near Angkor. In my presentation to the students before they go, I always show them your video of Angkor. It conveys the awe you felt at sunrise, and the choice of music, the stills you pick and the genuine excitement you show, really capture the students' attention. Thank you - better than any formal, fact filled professional tourist video.
Such a beautiful song set to a wondrous and beautiful place--"heartbeats" is very appropriate. Did you know that in Angkor Wat, there's a chamber where you can hear your heartbeat? Angkor is an Egyptian word meaning "Life to Horus."
ankor is beautiful in person...it was the high light of my trip (visually) during my 3 month trip thru south east asia. it was breath taking. especially the sunset and sunrises. you should go and see it
Well for one thing, Our history was pretty much disappear, although there are some story about our kings, there isn't much about anything else..so it hard for them to come up on how to create a movie in those day. whereas Mayan is known for many things.
@OwCoCosplay laos always respected our culture, only if our neighbor thai and vietnam was more like laos, the khmer people could of given much more to the world. thais in the north want our land and credited angkor culture for themself. Vietnamese to the east look to steal our land and destory our culture. There greed have halt and destroyed the very people who created a culture that even rivaled the Greeks themselves.
@synasta562 since when did laos respect your culture? u even know there lots of your ruins in laos to and laos had a big part of angkor empire fall to not just thai lao and thai were the tai. and u khmer never really respect the thais either if u did i wouldnt be seeing all these false news about thailand by your media to stir hate and keep the hate going on for so many generation while the thais already moved on. about the past....people who stuck in the past never will be rich or wealthy
@synasta562 and it never seem to amaze me how u khmer come online to stir hate and fight with the thais...just enjoy the fucking video and leave politics and history alone.no one here to know what happen between u and thais 900yrs ago ok get over it its 2010 already god dammit nowonder your country still a pile of u know what because your still stuck in the damn past. instead helping to make it better u sit there complain about viet and thais. keep complaining thais and viet r taking off new era
@MrPhon1984 I agree with you. we should just enjoy the video, leave politics/history alone and let's not talk about the past, but can you stop criticizing about our country? I know your country is a developed and rich country, but don't look down on our country. we are trying to develop now. And not all khmer people hate your country! I'm khmer, but i don't and never hate your country. I appreciate my own country, your country and even other countries. we r all human, so let's make peace, ok?
@MrPhon1984 you know, some thais also talk bad about the whole cambodians. it's hurt, too, but i don't really mind because although some of them say bad about my country, there are still many people that don't. minding it will make the hatred going on, so there won't be peace. we're like neighbors, so we have to help each other, not fight with each other.
Undoubtedly a magnificent place to visit with some majestic monuments of the past which tell us a story that is beyond words... this is perhaps where divinity resides.....
Sorry, I made a mistake and pressed SPAM on blurice's comment. What I wanted to ask is what does mom think about this docu: Africans In Asia. Is there truth to this, because I notice this video doesn't get to close to the intricate messages/carvings on the wall. Thanks

wonderful video. Sisophon, Battambang and Siem Reap (as the name suggests: Siamese Reign) BELONG to Thailand. They were happily part of Siam for 500 years before the French took over and the people there would have been happy without Khmer Rouge, hatred and communist experiments. Cambodia can have the landmines, Tuol Sleng and Killing Fields (and Viet prostitutes) as tourist attractions.
wtf dude, go get an encyclopedia and do some research... you're embarrasing your ownself by almost acknowledging that Angkor Wat is a Khmer temple and STILL wanting to claim it as Thai because they conquered the land way back then but the French gave it back to Cambodia what was rightfully hers.
Actually Siem reap means "Siam's retreat" not Reign. wheather is was a Thai territory 500 years ago or not Angkor is still a Khmer monument. Thailand was never ruled by the French so why would they give Thailand's territory away when it's not theirs?
I thought it translate to "Built by Siam" as if the Cambodian's used thai slaves to build the area after the battles? I dunno, could be wrong in my translation. But it still belong to Cambodia anyways.
It wasn't built by Thai slaves, they came way after. I understand what you mean, "reap" sound like "reap Jom" to prepare, so it can seem that way too.
No, our history did not say like that. And when Angkor was built, Thais didn't exist yet, but Siam. What I mean is that you generally think Siam = thai, but now we just know that Siam is not Thais. Thais is new comer.

have you guys seen the movie Apocalypto by Mel Gibson? anyway it takes place back during the Mayan civilization.
and i was just wondering why dont the make a movie like that that takes place during the Khmer empire of Angkor??
i think that would have the potential to make an amazing, mysterious movie that wil ltake us back in time to the ancient kingdom.
