absolutely love the solo at 2:38. It's a melody that is an integral part of the song and it ties in nicely with the main melody that comes after it. It's how a guitar solo should be; rather than superfluous notes- wether in key or not- played fast.
EOS is one of my all time favorite bands. Inferno was an awesome album. How can you go bad with songs like Hell Is Where The Heart Is as an opener? Amazing! Anyways please check out my band/music/samples as I'm influenced by Dan Swano. By band name is Dawn Of Dreams myspace dot com /dawnofdreams07
Just thought I'd throw a little addition to the Swano lovefest.... Steel - Say Goodbye To Love, type that into your little YouTube search box, hit enter and prepare to be amazed!! Maybe bring tissues got your gonna be having a trouser accident!!
I am stunned.... I only knew that song from "Nightfall Overture" by Nightingale (Dan's other band). Never knew the original came out under the label "Edge of Sanity"!
this album differs from others EOS albums by its sound cuz it was recorded at Peter Tagtgren's (Hypocrisy) studio... it was kind of experiment i think... in those days EOS and Hypocrisy were competing agains on metal scene... Purgatory Afterglow is my favourite EOS album, however I like this album as much as the others. EOS Forever!
I just found these guys maybe half a year ago. I'm been kicking myself for never hearing and/or appreciating them earlier. They're gods I'm in love with this band.
When I shared Edge of Sanity with some of my online friends they were like "who is this Edge of Sanity??!" I got some metalheads into this band. Swano made so many great songs while he was in this band.
I can't even remember what my first instant favorite was. I do know that Blood Colored is up there with one my favorites, though. Purgatory Afterglow maybe be tied with best album (in my eyes).
Thanks for the uploads, Beesson, very nostalgic. Love this band.
@sugessad Well, in the flow of things, you never know what can happen. Lots of bands thought they would always stay underground and liked it better that way, but once the carrot was dangled under their nose for long enough, most are bound to bite it. And who could blame them? A good bundle of them probably have trouble holding down jobs on the side. Its completely justifiable but still a sad route to see music artists go down, because usually the quality of their music suffers.
I have the first three Nightingale albums, but I've been told the latter ones are better, starting from 'Alive Again'. But the 2nd one, 'Closing Chronicles' is a progressive rock masterpiece IMO and it also includes great hard rock songs such as "Revival" and "Steal the Moon". So I would recommend that one ;) Or you could just buy the praised compilation album 'Nightfall Overture' if you can find it somewhere, as it's incredibly rare.
@deicide46 I agree, also Swano's other band Nightingale, So refreshing when you look at all the crap on TV today. Nightingale and EOS are both so underrated
Edge of Sanity is so sick. Check out my two uploads of them. I appreciate them sooo much

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with her in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?

i think other bands should make cover for every song edge of sanity made. great songs but weak performance.

The chorus is so catchy.

I prefer the song played by nightingale. By the way, Mr Swano sings there too
vampiromaniac 2 years ago
i agree, although i like both in their own respects. This ones darker, while Nightingale's is more energetic.

Helter Skelter - Best Song Ever (my opinion)
Edge of Sanity should've been at the top of all bands in my opinion.
EternalSolstice 3 years ago 2
Helker Skelter is my favourite song ever.
Edge Of Sanity are so underated, they need to be where Metallica were. HUGE
This band certainly have the energy for it.
Amazing
EternalSolstice 3 years ago 2
They are amazing.
But i would rather not have them as mainstream metal band, this way EoS stays special :)
SharDarksoul 3 years ago 11
@SharDarksoul thank you. Someone who understands how the mainstream works.
Jesus, I thought i was by myself on that one.
overlord3069 1 year ago
@overlord3069 Nah even if they were popular Dan Swano wouldn't let them sell out.

@overlord3069 Then the band would fall apart. Cause for Swano its all about music.
sugessad 1 year ago
@sugessad Artists get tired. Artists need money. Artists have families. Therefore, artists will always be tempted monetarily.
overlord3069 1 year ago
@overlord3069 Then explain to me why Swano hasn't sold out yet?He needs money he has a family.

a band has to play live alot to become superstars and edge of sanity was never more than a project. great songs anyways :)

They were more than a project, but simply not a live band.

holy shit. why doesnt this band get more attention?!?!?!

I wonder the same thing. Listen to Nightingale if you like this song. It's closer to sounding like this than any other Edge of Sanity songs.
Beesson6606 3 years ago
Can you recommend some good Nightingale albums? I love edge of sanity but I also love songs like this and Black Tears. ^^
