Totally. Why does everyone think it's so weird?! Sora's face looks different! He looks older. Also, it's possible for boys to have a radical change in pitch of their voice overnight. It happened to me!

ultimately his Kh:ReCOM voice sounds a bit different in tone then his KH2 voice and it still manages to suit him dispite what naysayers may say. Haley does his best even after puberty and his sora voice always manages to come out well regardless. now his japanese voice on the other hand..... (jk XD)

I didn't like how his voice was in KH1. It was too young-sounding. I thought Haley did his best in KH2. His actual voice at that point had gotten reasonably deeper, but he was able to alter the pitch (he obviously developed the character of Sora and Sora's voice to fit that) to work just right. It WAS deeper, but it fit extremely well. He developed it very well since the first game.

"Re: Chain" was a bit shaky, but since it was just a revised version of the GameBoy game, I can understand that.

And you guys think technology editing would solve the problem? It won't. They can only increase or decrease the pitch and if they increased the pitch, Sora would sound like a little girl.

@TheRPGPlayer it is possible to edit the voice in that manner. and, yes, that can cause in the end, that the the voice sounds like a little girl. but that doesn't matter if you look at it like this: there are some much male anime main characters which all are spoken by girls..really :)

KH2 Sora's voice is in my oppinion is the best voice for RE: COM, (I'm not just saying this because Osment went through a voice change in the last few years) but, if you picture it this way...won't KH1 Sora sound a bit odd in RE: COM, I mean it's fine in KH1 because he looks younger, but in KH RE: COM his facial appearance makes it hard to picture him sounding like a kid again. I was ok with it, I mean it's part of life, we all grow, it's just how we were created, same goes for Sora and Osment.

Well, Audacity is an example of a program that is capable of sound editing, but that's not what they'd use professionally, it's freeware. There are devices and programs that could probably do it much better.

To answer your earlier question, you COULD probably manipulate the Re:CoM dialogue to make it sound like KH1 Sora's voice, but you also have to consider that it would effect other sound as well. You'd be changing the pitch of the music, effects, and other voices too.

He sounded too kidish in KH1 but that makes sense becuase he was younger there and his older in KH2. So yeah I like his KH2 voice way better. Remember this is my opinion so yeah.

I miss Sora's young voice. It took me a long time to get used to the new voice when I first played KH2. Sora's personality is all lively and childlike, and KH1's voice suited him PERFECTLY. KH2 might've been okay, but it's just awkward to see Sora's younger body with KH2 voice. This really bothered me during the whole time while I was playing COM. Wish they electronically made it a little higher tone, but O well... still a great game.

Here is the problem. The guy who plays Sora got older a few years after KH1. Thats why the voice is different and thats why he sounds older in COM. Weird right after KH1 he went through puperty right as he entered C.O. But the younger voice would have been better for COM but cant go young again

Combine? No. You could alter his performance though. Though, using cheap stuff like Audacity to pitch it up might make him sound robotic.

...that said, the voice may not fit, but I found his performance one of the best ones in the game.

Many people know about processes like speeding up and slowing down audio, but is it possible to do the same thing but in terms of de-aging? In other words, speeding up the track to make it sound like the actor's voice when he/she was younger?

They did it with Aang's voice actor in Avatar, and his voice got really deep at the end of season 2, so they did that to make him sound the same as he did. They had a program for that. I can't remember what it was.

Re:COM is the worst of the KH series, not because of the story...it's the friggin' gameplay. I hate the whole cards thing.

Anyway, I'm used to them both now but I really like the old voice. But since Haley is in his 20's now that kinda sucks...

@tococoa Well think of it this way. He's in Castle Oblivion because he's already asleep, thanks to Namine. So his voice has already started to mature. Besides, it couldn't have been help. Hayley Joel Osment had already outgrown KH1 voice by the time they made Re:COM. They waited too late and that's the product. I feel the first COM was rushed, the second was more thought out. And I know it's tough to get used to KH2 voice, but Sora DID mature in that year lol. As did Hayley. Hence deeper voice.

KH and KH2 are a couple years apart. Osment probably couldn't manage the voice anymore, cause he's older. The voice sounds weird, and if someone plays the games in order, they would be mad. Although, I think that Sora's voice in KH was a bit too high...and that it was just about time for it to change at the end...really, the voice should have been a median between KH and it's sequal, so it would make more sense...

The only problem that I have with Re:COM is the flaps (mouth movements of the characters). Compared to KH1 and KH2, the flaps are horrible. They don't match. I know the game was made in Japan, but KH1 and KH2's character flaps matched the English voices. What happened here?

If you are a true, die-hard KH fan like I am, you would buy the game. I did. I think that this game is to either get people into KH again since there is a long pause between games or give into the demand of KH's popularity

I don't see the problem. Yeah, Haley did come back to make Re:COM, but think about it... HE GREW UP LIKE EVERY PERSON ON THE FACE OF THIS PLANET! I'm glad that he IS coming back to do Sora's voice. Its good that Square Enix didn't get someone new to do Sora's voice; it wouldn't be the same. Haley Joel Osment IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO COULD DUB SORA. That's final. So his doesn't match the Sora's age. You should be happy that USA actually got the license to Re:COM. I know I am.

Plenty of us DO give a damn believe it or not. The quality of a VA can often make or break a game. Re:CoM in itself is an awesome game, but if they fuck up Sora's English voice, it will heavily affect your opinion.
