The idea that everything is an illusion has already been presented by the old Buddhist teachings with the idea of emptiness, the absence of self (=soul) and that nothing is what it seems to be but is only a sum of different parts put together in a certain way. And the way to see the emptiness is through enlightenment. Sounds like quantum mechanics to me.

I'm not a Buddhist, but I find it interesting that science is tackling the same subject only with different terminology.

I dont think dark energy exsists at all. I think the galaxies are moving away faster and faster is because they are still excellarating from the initial explosion of the big bang. When a bullet fires it goes from 0 mph and accelarats rapidly to a certain point and gravity and atmospheric resistance slows it down. There is a period of accelaration though. The Universe is at ultimate scale, and the period of excellaration could be a long time.

I'm starting to think the human mind will never be able to see dark energy or dark matter, we cannot comprehend it while existing in what we call "reality" Yet we still know it's there because we can see its effects. Perhaps in the future we will escape this confined reality we perceive -- perhaps via a technological singularity-- and truly become all knowing.
