  • Fuck commercials. I know what the fuck will be in stores thanks to SALE PAPERS. So, FUCK your commercials...I come on Youfuck to watch videos. Fuck you.

  • It will take us throwing aside our differences and uniting together to make change. We will be tested but so help me we will march with our heads high and shoulders back declaring this land of freedom be restored to the people. We are the voice. We are the people. We are the change.

  • Luke 17.21 "...behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

Remember this video when visiting the polls in November. Republicans vs. democrats vs. others makes us weak. If the people unite we would become overwhelmingly powerful. At that point, true change is bound to happen.

  • @homie391 yes lol

  • and because of people like you it is so hard to reach such high goals..."mememe, it's in the book, i must be evil! it's in the book". come on, you accuse GOD being the cause of you being an idiot?? thats pathetic...

  • Anyone can agree with the state of man in what he describes, but this speech is naive in what it prescribes. Man is fallen and cannot fix his own evil nature, as he seems to suggest we ought to do. He's calling us to a goal that is impossible, out of man's power. God alone sanctifies man, and will restore his full good nature through the cross of Christ.

  • I am Humanity.

  • the only way you can dislike this is if you don't know English.

  • And I will endure every nasty look, every nasty spat aimed towards me with a smile. No one will ever feel hate, but to let them feel a light who wants to help them. The troubled, will never be troubled through my words. I'm sad that a world Charlie talks of, won't ever come true too soon, maybe eventually. Until then, I want to pass my beliefs through my children. And maybe their lights could re-kindle that future.

  • Honestly, this would have had more of an effect if you didn't plaster your channel name over the page and cover the video with annotations. It really took away from the impact of the speech for me.

  • @Zeroftw87 if you click the red little bubble at the bottom right of a video it hides all of those things, and i agree

  • I think that it is very impressive speech for such an old movie. The moralities of his speech sound like he was on the right track.

  • So True ='(

  • at 1st i thought it was a joke because of Charlie Chaplin and the fact that he is dressed like Hitler

  • What is the song that is playing in the background?

  • A beautiful speech but ultimately meaningless. Human beings were not made for peace and love but war and hate.

  • @Aethelhald And troll, don't forget trolling.

  • @DeadmauFIVEisCorrect People have been saying basically the same things he in the speech said since the beginning of recorded history, probably even before. That hasn't stopped wars - so many we can't count - and violence, and hate based on anything we can possibly find like skin colour, different beliefs, etc.

If the human race were made for peace and love then there would be 6,000 years of recorded history of peace and love, not war and hate.

  • @Aethelhald Arguments based around this are strictly opinion and are therefore retarded.

So in order to make this conversation more friendly to Youtubers:

I MASTURBATED FURIOUSLY TO THIS VIDEO!!! THUMBS UP IF YOU DID TOO!!!!

  • @DeadmauFIVEisCorrect I suppose you're right. I've yet to have a conversation on Youtube that, by the fifth piece of text, has NOT degenerated in to a slanging match with lots of use of words like faggot and the inevitable comparison to Hitler or the Nazis.

  • @Aethelhald I accept your challenge, I promise to not call you dicksucking homobitch for at least six pieces of text.

I believe that religion is not the cause for wars, I believe it is people using it as an excuse just like they would use something else as an excuse if it were not to exist. An example for this would be Hitler, an Atheist that found some form of justification for the slaughtering of millions of innocents (not just Jews might I add) through the idea of eugenics.

  • @DeadmauFIVEisCorrect And there's the mention of Hitler, conversation ends. Fun chatting with you.

  • @Aethelhald YOU'RE NO FUN!

  • @DeadmauFIVEisCorrect

I'm not an atheist, but I will say that Atheism does not inherently lead to war and cruelty, but tends to the belief that everyone is equal. It is often when people fail to respect ideas and cultures that differ from theirs that hate results. Nazism was essentially a semi-religious movement, and it's belief in the superiority of the "Aryan" race was as much mystical as anything else.

  • @DeadmauFIVEisCorrect

What I'm saying is that the evil of Nazism was not atheistic in origin.

  • @DeadmauFIVEisCorrect Sorry dicksucking homobitch but you are a religious piece of shit.

  • @tufionxxx Nope. I actually agree with @MindinViolet on this one, I just failed to make that clear in my comment. I don't believe his Atheism is what caused his actions.

    He said:

"It is often when people fail to respect ideas and cultures that differ from theirs that hate results."

Difference itself is the cause, not just religion, and I think it's a great shame when people can't tolerate other people's beliefs and many Atheists start getting self-righteous.

    I am an Atheist.

  • Truly the greatest speech

  • Someone put onions in here...

  • Scroll back up and do something right for once in your sorry life!

  • I'm gonna take this at face value and connect with the speech and not complain about any "flaw" in the speech or about him looking like hitler.

  • @TheXavierConspiracy He looks like Hitler because he plays a Jew that looks like Hitler in the role he's playing in this movie. Great movie, by the way, it's called "The Great Dictator".

Also, anyone taking this as a political statement is an idiot, if you listen it's a speech based solely on morality. Yes, Chaplin was a socialist, but don't let that affect your opinion because ultimately, I bet you share the same morals as he has shared in this speech.

  • Utopian speeches sound good, but don't make much sense. One utopian society already died, let's not call for another socialist empire

  • It's even more interesting to note the speech is from the first talking movie written by Charlie Chaplin called The Great Dictator. It's said by a character who has somehow switched places with Adenoid Hynkel (the movie's parallel to Hitler) and has the chance to give a speech to the entire country.

  • When you consider that this speech was made before any of us were born, it's very sad that every word is still valid. As long as humankind allows itself to be ruled by greed, there will never be true freedom.

  • I need to watch this every day

  • ... Whoa. Why didn't they show this in Religious Education in school? :c

  • @CudanCoch Because then there would be no more religion.

  • @KurtRileyOfficial Nah, we get taught moral and ethical stuff as well, which can be of great significance in religion in general. This would be a good video to show people about what human nature is really like. How compassion is in our nature. Have yer religions if you need them, just be nice about it.

  • @CudanCoch That's the problem. Plenty have religions...very few keep it to themselves. :)

  • Why is Adolf Hitler speaking about lolwtf? i dont even, nazi propaganda yes

  • @baryon15 it's Charlie Chaplin..............

  • @baryon15 are you stupid? Did you listen to what the speech says?

  • That's it.. I'm translating this to my language right now and I'll pass it to everyone I know... everyone should do the same.

  • Beautiful.

  • @myY0UTUBEchanneI That would require Ron Paul's gaining a modicum of empathy for his fellow beings. Theonly things about which Dr. Paul is correct are the legalisation of all controlled substances and the elimination of fractional reserve banking.

  • so hitler wasn't so bad afterall.

  • @MrBrilliantChaos - You kind of missed the point of Charlie Chaplin dressing up as Hitler. Charlie was being the "Anti-Hitler".

  • But I like greed...

  • The song is The Album Leaf - Window

  • You cannot consider yourself a good person if you dislike this.

  • chuck norris or andrew ryan should have read this speech

  • If you see the Iraqi trucks being blown up I worked with those men they were good men

  • lol anyone else tear up?

  • @homie391 - I couldn't help but have tears welling up in my eyes.

  • 21 members of congress must have seen this video...

  • @eyesofjustice Bah!, hogwash.

  • Haha thats 3 different artists. I'm sure it is Sigur Ros but not sure what the song name is?! Think i'm in a pickle.

  • sigur ros

  • I think it's explosions in the sky

    rising

  • Comment removed

  • What is the name of the score/song played in the background anyone?

  • @RisingAboveU I think it's by a band called "The Album Leaf" but I cannot remember which song it is. Hopefully someone will know on here.

  • whats the original movie?

  • We, the people, with our compassion, look to our politician's and world leaders for the same. But all they give back is greed, and more greed. We know of this, we know of their lies and wicked plans, yet we continue to search for the good in these men, these machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts, not because we have no choice, but because being compassionate is the very thing that makes us human.

To the poster, and creator of this wonderful clip...Thankyou.

  • And after all these years since this was recorded, we keep making the same mistakes

  • I like the overall message, except that the call to this "revolution" to democracy and a human centered culture is that we should "fight" for it. fighting is the technique that has been used to create our current culture, and it cannot bring peace. to fight...to harden our hearts against those who have propagated our culture of fear and violence, is to perpetuate that culture. to those who have propagated violence and fear, let us offer healing and compassion, and show them how NOT to fight.

  • At first I was like :D

Then I realised it was all some promotion for democracy. I am dissapoint...

  • It's not the same without Music...

  • spreadin and ffs gives me goosepops everytime i watch it so true

  • I lost interest at the all-too-predictable "We think too much and feel too little" bullshit. It's people acting on their feelings that got us where we are. We as a species don't think nearly enough.

    Sentimental claptrap.

  • @BlackTemplarSgt

It's sad. The reason why that line is so predictable is because it's always been true for us, the reason why we are at war is over oil for the sake of thinking for an economic purpose, not because our elected officials care for the people who need gasoline to get to work to feed their families, but to sell to the people only to build a wall of money that separates them from the rest of the world, more and more so that they can get away from the hell our earth endures from it.

  • @AAC4Garra =) someone with intelect instead of being huuu huuuu i am uberkewl on the internetz =)

    thumbs up !!!

  • @AAC4Garra I disagree, of course. It's feelings that lead to wars, not reason. Greed, hate, envy, nationalism. Please don't equate the hunger for money (or MORE money) with rational thought. I'm sorry to say you are quite wrong - what's "always been true" is the emotional and unthinking motive force underlying human political and social life, with countless dead and millenia of misery resulting. The application of thinking rather than animal "gut reaction" is almost unknown in our history.

  • @BlackTemplarSgt You know why you're wrong? It's because you're saying we should just think without any emotion, to be nothing of human. And if we were to defy nature and do what you want us to do, the world would grow cold over night, and we would all die because emotion is the very thing that keeps us alive, and we wouldn't be able to think of how to simply keep our race alive because that take fear and thought. Rational Thought is nothing without emotion. Both are needed, not just one.

  • @BlackTemplarSgt

Greed, hate, envy, are there for a reason(and nationalism is not an emotion). The fact that you are ignoring the contrasting emotions that kept us alive and brought us so much greatness in this world shows you're thinking from an angry perspective, you're thinking with emotion, not rationally. If you really wanted to help the world, not let it die because you disagree with it, you wouldn't be commenting about petty things on a video with a much bigger picture than that.

  • @BlackTemplarSgt

bad ass nick but ffs send me a better message... Can you?

are you like huu huuu it is what it is. cuz if thats so lets nuke the planet

cuz then whats the use anyway? Work for JP morgan,Halliburton, the FED?

Think about the message sed and be huuu huuu all ya want but dont come

back like huu why this and how that,,, be a robot all ya want....

Makes me wonder why the hell did ya watch this vid anyway....

    Greetz

    Zhe Red Baron ^^

  • some people in here just don't get it. DEATH TO THE NEW WORLD ORDER

  • fuck democracy

  • restore the Republic....Ron Paul 2012

  • @CorrectTrail how would u know?

  • powerful

  • An ideal world cannot exist under current conditions. Too much ignorance and fear. But it's nice to wonder if in time there could be.

  • Man cannot create a "Garden of Eden", only God can and has, but we must pass onto the next life to enjoy it.

  • @CorrectTrail

exactly the speech kinda sounds like it's meant to control

democracy always leads to despotism.. he should be talking about the rule of law and the natural law, not rule by the masses and the majority

  • I like this, but do away with national boundaries? create a new world?

dunno what to say to that

  • @elitebanktyranny he never said that...listen again

  • ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The change is coming, we need to all come together and support the global revolutions!

  • @wyrwich if it comes to it we must revolt in a wary way, the illuminati has triggered almost every revolution in history thus far.

  • @wesleytj except for this one. Welcome to the Age of Knowledge.

  • This is not, the greatest speech, this is the most dangerous speech........ for the establishment...

Imagine what would happen if all armies come together against it.......

  • Fantastic video.

  • @sndblstr-right on...capitalism may not perfect but its the best we got. My father came to this country illegaly armed with nothing more than a sixth grade education, determenation, and a good work ethic. Today he's a citizen owns a small bussiness and makes a good living...he's not the only one with the same story in this country but this is one of the countries where this story is so common. In what other socialist, marxist, communist nation does this happen???

  • I love how the guy puts Bush's face on the tag for this, I guess trying to get some of those Bush worshipers to click on it.

But I suspect most of them click the back button real fast when they realize what's being said.

"Yeah but..." Christians all. "Yeah but ..." means they don't really believe what Christ taught. They're blinded by mammon, not realizing that they're not in John 3:16 "...whosoever BELIEVETH in Him...". They don't believe in Him because they won't do what He told us to do.

  • The greatest comedians speak the truth.......Chaplin, Hicks, Carlin.

  • If you click on Artist: Charles Chaplin, it goes to Michael Jackson.

    why

  • best video i've ever seen on youtube. \m/

  • Beautiful... Just Beautiful...

  • they say they advocate liberty, then turn around and force us to pay into social security, tax us so they can start "green energy" and other centralized economic polices.

  • @sharinganclan213 and it's all the socialists fault right?

  • wow

  • Guess I am going to have to do some research to find where this is from! Come on, put it it the description!

  • @roastbeef240 I don't know about the images, but this speech is by Charlie Chaplin, in the movie The Great Dictator

  • Beautiful

  • We are where we are because of fear. Everyone is afraid of everyone else these days, nations are so scared of each other they build weapons capable of indiscrimantly killing millions. Nations are so scared of their own people the security forces treat any large gathering as a threat of violence. Hell, you try walking down a street at night and check how many times you are scared of someone going the other way, is it every time?

  • @JhericFury ...Fear has told us that it doesn't matter if you're cruel, because so are they, that you shouldn't help others through the fear of recieving hatred in return. Fear turns decent people into monsters, and a decent system into a dystopia. If we ever wish to create a united world, we must first get over this fear of our fellow human, or the battle is already lost.

  • the zeitgeist movement

  • The soundtrack... Wich one is it? It is from Sigur Rós?

  • Doctor Who! Wooooo!

  • The Humanist Creed

  • nice vid man. great speech alright.

  • it was so beautiful, and the sad part is, we all know this about ourselves, about humanity. this is not new information, but we treat it as such. Because it's just too basic for most of us to understand. Too basic for most of us to believe that we could ever possibly listen and actually follow this way of life.

  • I watched this movie with this dad as a ritual when I was little... Thanks, papa.

  • @albigjino theres plenty of anthropologists who would disagree with that. Therre is no such thing as human nature. We are the product of our environment.

  • @ikov who cares the world is a terrible place and we need to fix it

  • more likes than views, says something.

  • 16 people dont get it

  • This needs to be played on every frequency, in every language, in every form of media, EVERYWHERE.

  • @MrJeggus This is from the ending of The Great Dictator. Charlie wrote his own script so those are his own words.

  • Even now, your voice continues to reach millions across the world.

  • what is this song

  • @WhatTheBbqSauce 'Window' by The Album Leaf (One of my favorites)

  • This video needs more views! That or it's lagging out. Which it definitly is considering it says 302 views and 546 likes (and 13 dislikes, but those people are idiots and we won't mention them)

This video really touched me. It reminded me of the symbolism of the Chaplin Stash, NOT Hitler stash, but Chaplin. He was the greatest, if only he could see today how true his words rung.

  • @albigjino Saying this is idealistic is like saying Martin Luther King's dream is idealistic. It's a dream. It's something that we aspire to be true. Mankind is greedy and selfish by nature, but doesn't want to be. It is in no one's interest to become a greedy person. What Chaplin is saying is trying to break this circle of selfishness. It's much more than some "Idealistic Bullshit," look harder and deeper at what you see. Lest you want to embrace ignorance.

  • @MrJeggus He meant it - and he WROTE the script.

  • Why can't people be this intelligent and beautiful anymore.

  • just under a century later his message is just as true. technology may change but man will not

  • 13 people disliked this video

  • @albigjino

So I should kill you and take your stuff?

  • @albigjino Not true at all, humans have a complex nature that can not be simplified by your judgements

  • I've always loved this speech.

  • re-upload... iveseen this a million times.. cept it had more than just 300 views. jerk

  • @theforkisonthetable

spreading the word of this video is not bad... seriously just stop complaining

  • What happened to greatness?

  • Stunning.

  • @MrJeggus This was from a movie he made, so it's very much scripted. But still, he wrote it and meant it, and the film itself is great.

  • This is not the original video -_- this is a repost, the original has over a million views. COME ON KNIGHTS OF /r/ NEW!

  • SO WHAT THIS IS SAYING IS THE WORLD IS RULED BY CYBERMEN? WELL WE ARE FUCKED

  • Charlie Chaplin was a pretty amazing guy.

  • This video ended terribly.

  • If anyone's wondering, this speech is from the movie 'The Great Dictator'.

  • Glad Im one of the first people to see this. I really want to share this with everybody now.

  • @kurdtLycan there's no evidence that he was a pedophile. its all rumors.

  • @rjymadarang you are not getting the point of this video

  • @rjymadarang "Mohandas Gandhi's early life was a series of personal struggles to decipher the truth about life's important issues and discover the true way of living. He admitted in his autobiography to beating his young wife, and indulging in carnal pleasures out of lust, jealousy and possessiveness, not genuine love. It was only after much personal turmoil and repeated failures that Gandhi developed his philosophy." Know the entire story. Dont just read the punch line.

  • @xpatel927 thank you for that

  • this is so touching it literally brought me to tears.what he is saying is exactly true it moves me.it wakes me a regular 13 year old girl want to make an impact on this world and show people what not just they can become, but all of us standing together rising up and being one. This is some thing that should be broadcasted so that every one sees it and yes, even thought that was filmed long ago it still pertains to the here and now 2011.for love compaction and equality to all those on this planet.

  • @catsrcool1567 equality is subjective Equality under a nation of laws that promotes security of free life is what is necessary.

  • @rjymadarang it's good that you raised this, when we look back at the lives of historical figures it's best to take them as a whole and understand that they aren't perfect and not idolize them and treat them as they are perfect. I think once we can do that it will be easier to say "I may not be perfect but I can be at least better then those before me"

  • @rjymadarang you should add more to that than stating it. makes you sound stupid.

  • No matter what his fame brought him, I will now remember him for his integrity.

  • @kosilveriarn what is that even suppose to mean? That he's human and can make mistakes, just like the rest of us?

  • @HammieRulez What?! lol. All I said was that to me he was only to be remembered as a weird silent movie comedian, until I saw this. Now, for the first time I see his integrity displayed. For every silent movie joke I have seen of his, it will now be coupled with his glorious insightful comments about humanity, and especially the fact he rose up to speak them in his time.
