There is such a fear of reproaching God's name that these situations were swept under the rug. And it was wrong and it happened with spousal abuse too had the same issue. It's wrong. They got better though and made strict guidelines to make sure this doesn't happen on a congregational level.
I saw a similiar, mush more detailed documentary on one of the major networks a few years ago. Think it was ABC. Guess the Catholic Church does Not have a corner on the market, after all. Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses since the early 70's something happened that stop me cold. My four year old grandson told my wife that a brother sucked his penis. I did what I thought was right. The elders of their congregation handled it. A group of elders questioned my grandson and the 'brother'. Nothing happened because there was not a witnesse to the crime. That 'brother' is still active in the congregation. I should have gone to the police. This was not God's loyal love.

As for holidays, many Evangelicals choose not to celebrate some of them, they should have the right not to. Christmas is one of them (engulfed with paganism) in that sense I agree with JW's (although not in fundamental doctrines). However, I do not think that celebrating it has eternal consequences, this a matter of conscience. Establishing rules out of gray areas takes us to extremes, such is the case with Jehova's Witnesses.

However, doctrinally, I cannot come to an agreement with JW's because of their translation of the Bible, every translation might have a level of inaccuracy, but the NWT tampers with the nature of God, all this because they translated it with a bias. @Chinaculiacan If someone commits any immoral act (people are of their own free will and do commit sins-they are influenced and live in a highly sinful world-bad acts are all around us)they are disciplined by the elders, and if necessary, are disfellowshipped. This is a rare JW occurance.We teach good, and study the bible everyday to help fight off it's influence- It's so sad that every religion has, who knows, how many stories like this? My in-laws are old with very little income. They have two tiny investments in PR; a JWs woman is "managing" these houses and she says that the homes can only be rented out for $50.00 (yes, you're reading right, $50-) a month. my friend from high school was JW and there family never tryed to push there religion on me hes a great friend and his brother and sister were the same a vary nice family.
I was almost killed by one numerous times. God gave me super human strength to save me. These people who do these terrible things do it in the name of Jesus. They keep trying to kill ya, just to see if God will save ya. The same person continues to terrorize my family over religous reasons. I've yet to meet one NWT student that agrees that Jesus claimed to raise himself from the grave. The narritive clearly explains what he was referring to in vs 21. So I'll ask you very plainly. Did he claim to raise himself from the grave? Your answer will determine whether you consider him Lord, liar, or lunatic.

@Soul4JC I see alot of videos on youtube. I watch about nutrition, jokes, animals, music, and many various things. Jesus does not command me to do this. Each person is responsible for what they watch. I answer to Jehovah God. The bible does not mention videos, but does say to turn away from bad. When I see something bad, I turn away. I send comments with answers to questions or opinions people have. The bible says to make a defense of my faith. Jesus talked to every sort of person, everywhere.

I believe every Jewish woman with a child in Israel remembered their children on the date of their birth. They would speak of what happened on that day and how happy they were to have them. That is the most natural thing in the world for a mother and father to do. I raised children to be witnesses. I always felt bad on their birthdays. I felt that if I acknowledged their birth is any way I would be breaking a rule. There is no rule against remembering your child's birthdate.
The wedding ring comes from paganism. It cannot be found in the Old or New Testaments. There was no practice among early Christians to wear finger rings as a sign of marriage or an engagement but here we are wearing them. A couple of rulers did something awful on their birthdays. If God or Jesus does not allow a parent to remember their child's birthday it would have been forbidden in the Bible. Acts 15:20

There is such a fear of reproaching God's name that these situations were swept under the rug. And it was wrong and it happened with spousal abuse too had the same issue. It's wrong. They got better though and made strict guidelines to make sure this doesn't happen on a congregational level.

Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses since the early 70's something happened that stop me cold. My four year old grandson told my wife that a brother sucked his penis. I did what I thought was right. The elders of their congregation handled it. A group of elders questioned my grandson and the 'brother'. Nothing happened because there was not a witnesse to the crime. That 'brother' is still active in the congregation. I should have gone to the police. This was not God's loyal love.

As for holidays, many Evangelicals choose not to celebrate some of them, they should have the right not to. Christmas is one of them (engulfed with paganism) in that sense I agree with JW's (although not in fundamental doctrines). However, I do not think that celebrating it has eternal consequences, this a matter of conscience. Establishing rules out of gray areas takes us to extremes, such is the case with Jehova's Witnesses.

However, doctrinally, I cannot come to an agreement with JW's because of their translation of the Bible, every translation might have a level of inaccuracy, but the NWT tampers with the nature of God, all this because they translated it with a bias. My parents FLOURISHED me with gifts and unrestricted love.
While kids in 1st grade had mommies that bought them 5 dollar plastic shoes at Payless, my immigrant JW parents bought me REAL non-chemical sturdy shoes that wouldn't hurt my feet.
While kids had birthday parties and gifts once a year, I didn't celebrate my birthday and still had gifts given to me just for being ME all through out the year.

@Chinaculiacan If someone commits any immoral act (people are of their own free will and do commit sins-they are influenced and live in a highly sinful world-bad acts are all around us)they are disciplined by the elders, and if necessary, are disfellowshipped. This is a rare JW occurance.We teach good, and study the bible everyday to help fight off it's influence- It's so sad that every religion has, who knows, how many stories like this? I grew up Catholic, abused by Catholic men sexually.

I too was an elder in a congregation for 12 years and I got tired of seeing elders, ministerial servants and so called christians in good standing were breaking the law, molesting young girls, cheating on thier wives when they got `drunk at get togethers and even traded wives. I was almost killed by one numerous times. God gave me super human strength to save me. These people who do these terrible things do it in the name of Jesus. They keep trying to kill ya, just to see if God will save ya. The same person continues to terrorize my family over religous reasons. I know that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the light, and not an angel. These people try to see if your willing to take their God over yours at all pain and sufferring.

Jehovah Witnesses are a Cult. You can even read about this in your local library. Its no hidden secret. Why is it when a member of the Jehovah Witnesses is abused, A Jehovah Witness does not believe them? Do you think they make up a story just to get attention? This happends in all churches, but the difference is, other churches do not get rid of their abused member. The police are called and its handled. I believe every Jewish woman with a child in Israel remembered their children on the date of their birth. They would speak of what happened on that day and how happy they were to have them. That is the most natural thing in the world for a mother and father to do. I raised children to be witnesses. I always felt bad on their birthdays. I felt that if I acknowledged their birth is any way I would be breaking a rule. There is no rule against remembering your child's birthdate.

The wedding ring comes from paganism. It cannot be found in the Old or New Testaments. There was no practice among early Christians to wear finger rings as a sign of marriage or an engagement but here we are wearing them. A couple of rulers did something awful on their birthdays. If God or Jesus does not allow a parent to remember their child's birthday it would have been forbidden in the Bible. Acts 15:20

It says this kind of celebrating belongs to the stupid ones-It does say that,so this is Jehovah God's view.We shouldn't reward someone for the simple fact that they 'were born', but should reflect on the seriousness of life and that it is short. We should do good with our life to help others, and not focus on bringing undue attention to ourselves, which b-days do. Follow Jesus :D

@torrents4u2c Celebrating marriage is acceptable in the bible-Jesus performed a miracle at a wedding feast!He turned water into wine for enjoyment at the feast=John 2:1-11. The bible gives no hint that wedding rings are not acceptable,so we use them to show others we are married, and not available to date. It is a good idea for that reason to wear the ring. WE do not throw rice and drink to drunkeness, as this is not good=1 Corinthians 6:9,10. We don't 'clink' wine glasses or make a toasts.

At that wedding feast Jesus attended people were intoxicated not that Jesus approved of that. Certain Christian groups do not wear wedding rings because of its connection to astrology. Your saying it's acceptable to you because the Watchtower Society says it's acceptable. If the Watchtower Society changed it view tomorrow you would change your view. The wedding ring had a pagan origin. Christians are not to learn the way of the nations. A case could be made.

Blood transfusions pass AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and also carry the DNA. Do you want someone else's DNA running and controlling your bodily functions? Male hormones and DNA into a female would really confuse that woman's body quite a bit. Acts 15:20,"...abstain from blood...The apostle Paul said. At least 23000 known sex perverts held on secret Watchtower database. JW whole congregations turn up in court to vilify victims. WT Society spends $millions defending child molesting charges against scores of elders in USA alone. FBI excluded from database because of 'religious privilege'. No internal justice for innocent victims, rather, they are universally suppressed. So called 'repentance' is an excuse to whitewash blatant crimes. Victims who go public are shunned. I dont identify JW's as sexual abusers, or pedophiles but if this is a reoccurring problem SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. that means they need to send over seers from bethel to investigate why elders are not doing their job reporting these criminals. the elders should not withhold any accusation from these girls and let them just report it to the authorities. the elders need to stop acting like theyre cops when they know that is a situation that needs to be left to AUTHORITIES! stop being stupid!

But listen what the first girl said about the group's reaction (02:12) "it didn't happen, it couldn't happen, do not lie or you will have a committee". These women could file a lawsuit. If they are wanting justice, they could report it to the authorities. All religions have pedophiles. Humans make their own decisions. Jehovah's witnesses give STRONG bible counsel against ANY sexual misconduct. I was brought up a Catholic, and was abused by at least 4 Catholic men! I don't then say all Catholic men are pedophiles. Each man is accountable for himself. These innocent victims can hopefully get justice from their abuser in a court of law.

Unfortunately, this does happen (abuse and cover ups). With JWs this is not a common occurrence, however these Elders were very misguided in the recommendation. Through their actions, or lack of they may have become a sharer in the sinners sin. This is not good. This makes them no different than the Catholics' and their cover ups. Shame on the Elders and the molester.

are you serious? these news have to make a bad name for jehovas witnesses also? look..if u noticed at 1:34 the news lady says "you were ten years old when you got abused tell us what happened" that part was ok but then right after that the girl that got abused said "well the man who abused me" and all of a sudden the news lady says "was a jehovas witness"....now, she had already said that the man who abused her was a jehovas witness like 7 times why did she have to say it again in a rude way???
