  • ffs im getting so tired and fed up with this phone, its always telling me i have no storage... but i have an 8 gig memory card with 6 gig left!! and ive transfered everything over to it i can! omg so stress full, and now i cant get the back off! my fingers hurt so bad x

  • Well... HTC will receive a hate mail after this. After 2 hours of cursing and destroying my fingers, after i watched all the videos and reviews, the solution is simple: USE THE PALM, but NOT with your hand oriented up or down, but on the side. If you use your right hand make sure the fingers are on the side of the phone oppossed to the volume buttons. Press down and try to slide it in your direction. This way you can also protect the front buttons and the screen from too much pressure.Good Luck!

  • I have an htc status with an extremely stubborn cover. It will not come off. It feels like it's glued in there. I want to remove the battery to put it back in again because the device has shut itself off and won't come back on....but the alarm works just fine. Great.

  • got it using my palm!

  • @azimataiji hahah thankyou so did i........ You helped me after hours and hours of *epic Failure*

  • tried a lot of ways myself, what worked for me was place the phone screen down on my bed, put my thumbnails along the very bottom seem, raised it to about a 45 degree angle with the bed and pulled cover toward me with fingers.

  • @daco420 Palm it :)

  • the only solution to open this back panel is through using rubber gloves..thumbs up if it works for u !!!

  • I actually went to the extent of rubber gloves. Works though! LOL

  • @TheDanezDude worked for me :) thanks

  • @TheDanezDude hahahaha palms the way to roll :D

  • One more suggestion, in the absence of blu-tac my wife grabbed some costume fashion (double-sided) tape. We used the thumb "option" and put the tape parallel to the seam just onto the white part. It wasn't exactly easy but it worked. I'm gonna go ice my hands now. Good luck!

  • Looks easy but not working for me. Aching fingers and hands now. Still struggling.

  • @MsPeruser palm works a treat

  • i was having the SAME problemgetting it off! finally i placed it on my thigh and push down andvout with the bottom of my palm and click it came off! whew! hope it works!

  • The absolute EASIEST way, just get two blobs of blu-tac, stick em on the back and use them as grip to push. Took me two seconds.

  • ahh i cant get it either!

  • i see a lot of people have the same problem as I have ;D i'm so frustrated that i started to laugh ;D

  • What hollyloves said, use the palm of your hand and it comes off right away!

  • thumbs don't work!!!!! use the palm of your hand was off in 2 seconds after reading that comment!!!!

  • im trying to open mine for 2 months =( and still its stuck FUCK!!!

  • Hey thanx bro, i have been trying from morning and finally achieved it after watching just 20 seconds of ur video

  • It's awful! I hurt my hands but it's not open yet

  • LOL it took me a while but when he says use 2 thumbs i used my palm, (palm has more grip then both your thumbs) i got it first try with my palm

  • im really getting pissed off!! loll i cant openn it!! my thumbs are on firee

  • A pair of rubber gloves did the trick for me...a thick rubber band could work as well

  • The whole problem is that the manufacturer doesn't have the common sense to include a grip on the cover...that's just DUMB.

  • i couldnt do it until i put my two thumbs together in the centre of the seam and pushed up, rather than pushing in the middle of the cover, try that! worked for me :)

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww thanxxxxxxxxxxx

  • man wtf i used the gloves and my fucking fingers for 3 hour WTF htc what do you dummass think some company going to jack the battery assholes

  • i honestly couldn't do it just by pushing so i dug my fingernail into the seam and managed to open up a gap, then i got a knife and levered the cover off, easy.

  • SERIOUS PROBLEM - theres something wrong with my htc. Ive done everyting accoriding to instructions... but IT still doesnt seem to catch the fact that my simcard is inside. I can divert emergency calls only. WHATS WRONG HELP ME PLS

  • Cheers, almost immediate success-was worried about damaging phone

  • This is rather in embarrassing. I've tried for two hours straight to open the phone, and I can't even feel it budge. My dad, who I consider to have the strongest hands in the world, can open all the bottles in the house when nobody else can't - he can't even open it. I'm really annoyed. I just want to put my sim card in and I CAN'T GET THE FLIPPING BACK OFF. Please help me, any suggestions!?

  • @wemadeourmove I got the same thing.. I want to see my phone alive!!

  • Fucking bollox cant open the fucking thing it's going out the window.

  • Use a Rubber Glove. it is the easiest way

  • this is rubbish...

  • Thank you so much! @TheOnlyJacobGreen the washing gloves really helped too! Lol:)

  • I cant open it...HELP!!!

  • I used a sharp knife. Sorted that bit out but now I can't access my texts or contacts or anything else. Ready to take it back.

  • im sweating trying to remove this shit

  • My sister finally opened it after watching this!

    Thank you so much! :D

  • All, use washing gloves---works like a charm! Also, do so before you put too much pressure and damage the screen!!!

  • @TRNATO1 I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

  • @TRNATO1 I love you so much right now, thank you!

  • Ok, here is a way that seems to work for me:

Push down the cover with your thumbs as much as you can, to create a little opening. Then use your fingernail and push down one of the hinges that keep the cover tightly locked. If you push at the right spot (where the hinges are) the cover should come off.

Still, this is not an easy and straight-forward procedure as it should be. Shame on you, HTC!

  • WTF, my thumb keeps sliding down the cover so their slipping off the phone. There actually must be an easier way!!!!

  • In the end I used a knife to force it open - not really clever, but like most of you I just lost my rag... How can any respected phone manufacturer come up with a useless design like this? Really beats me...

  • Why.. HTC? why? Goddamn cover -_-

  • Fking design, i cant open it.

  • its been 4 hours so far................... i just want to play with my fone, thats all simply play with my fone and i cant :(

  • still can't

  • i can't bloody open it.....its been an hour.

  • Use washing up gloves!

  • I managed to open it.. firstly u hold the phone in a position as if u are holding a hamburger in both hands. then used both of your thumbs to press against the middle of the cover along the seam. Apply a little push and the battery cover will open. Hope this helps..

  • This is impossible really. I've pushed down as hard as i can and hasnt worked

  • I've been trying to open mine for 5 hours. You say watch the video closely, but you don't show when you push down!!!!! You say line it up on the seam... do you push down on the seam, and then you just jump into the middle making the seam bit pointless.

I'm losing my rag at this phone!

  • @MysteryVoice2323 - I'm sorry you are having problems! What I did was lined the centre of my thumbs along the seam and using a lot of force (more than usual for a phone) you need to push down (you may hear a click) and then slide the cover away. If you are still having problems after this, then I suggest you take it to your local phone store. I hope you get this sorted out! ;-)

  • @htsv105 I found out that using the palm/wrist, which have more contact area, makes it easier than using the thumbs.

  • @MysteryVoice2323 I was also feeling like a rabid dog on an off day over this technoduff feature of the phone but look at the vid below and you will see how adding a rubber band to the party really improves things. Having previously been convinced I was going to destroy the phone with the back cover challenge, it just came straight off first time.

  • @MysteryVoice2323 Solution! Get a knife and gently insert it in the seam between the silver HTC piece and the lower battery cover door and it comes right off!

  • Please. I have been working with mine for like an hour now! I still can't get it open!

  • @ThatsTheHolyGrail @birdbird83 - All I can say is watch the Video closely, you have to position your thumbs in line with the join, push down and away! I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

  • anyone having similar problems... i still can't find the catch to opening it

  • you made that look so easy. I'm in battery cover hell right now lol

  • @MsHonestB - You have to push down on the seam, where the cover meets the phone body. Once you find the right position it is very easy, but if you are slightly out, then yes it can be very frustrating. ;-)
