Extremely underappreciated movie. This isn't your typical feel good movie, its real. This is what minor league hockey was like in the 1970's and 80's, most of this movie isn't imbellished. It portrayed life in the rust belt perfectly in my eyes.

i remember watching these guys in the north american hockey league....they played for the Johnston Jets...the uniforms were the same...i went to the games on Cape Cod remember seeing Nick Fotiu(he has clips on here) beat the shit out of all 3 of them one night...the scean here where they play thier first game are the same uniforms as the Phily Firebirds and when Dunlop calls the Golies wife a dyke the uniforms were the same as the Binghampton Dusters..

I agree with everything you are saying with the execption of the last sentence. Since you go on YouTube, go enter Philadelphia Flyers in the Seventies and you will see things haven't really changed. Even in the Fifties, the players would hit each other with their sticks. The main difference now is the money they make, but this is not their fault, they can only ask. Cheers!
