I have a golden window from this building - with lots of photos of where it came from and how I aquired it. I think it was the smallest of the windows and weighs approximately 21 kilograms. There is a serial number that can be just seen between the double sheets of glass which should help to identify it's authenticity. Does anyone know where I can sell it ?

Richtig So mit dem Abriß, nach In und Ausländischer Kritik hatte Walter Ulbricht versprochen das Schloss zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt wiederaufzubauen,aber der herr Honecker meinte natürlich später sich nicht daran zu halten!

Schade um den Palast der Republik,aber man sieht wie die meisten Deutschen (Wessis)denken,Kommunismus war ja so schlecht also hinweg mit jeder Erinnerung,aber hauptsache die Relikte des Dritten Reiches bleiben als Erinnerung und dienen den NEO-NAZIS als KULT-STATTE.

The baroque Berliner Schloss should be rebuilt on this site. The communist criminals in "Mitteldeutschland" or central Germany destroyed many fine buildings that could have been restored to their former glory. GDR was not "East" Germany because that is to the east of the Oder-Neisse Line.

This is a very stupid remark on your behalf proving you know nothing about this building and its history. The Palace of the Republic was built on the exact spot where the Hohenzollern castle stood. The communist blew up this ruin and built the ugly palace.

I hope some form of the Schloss is rebuilt somehow somewhat ... or the square's name would not make sense.

Hopefully, some philanthropic people may be able help raise funding to rebuilt the Schloss ... it shudders me to think if the Berlin City Council has to dip into its bankrupt reserves to pay for the new Schloss.
