i have about 6 storm balls right now, and i have to say this ball hits like a monster! this was my first storm ball so it will always be special to me haha. mine may not be drilled strong as my other balls but man it hits those pins down!
iv had this ball for about 10 months now. and it is not hooking nearly as much as it did when i first got it. i am getting somthing done to it at the moment to see if it can get its hook back. but all in all its a very decent ball and i would recommend to anyone
@pinhead444556 If you soak the ball in dawn (soap) and hot water, it will pull the oil out and the thing will hook like mad.. I did it with my original Dimension.. on a normal house shot it would BARELY hook enough to play straight up.. now if I don't swing it at least 15 boards it will fly across the lane. Soak all areas for about 15 minutes or so, and put cotton balls inside all holes just to absorb any excess that may get in them.
This is by far one of the best Storm bowling balls released in the last couple of years. The VG and VE just weren't what I expected. I think that Storm knows what there doing with symmetrical bowling balls (ROF and 2D) but there asymmetrical ones have just been a dissapointment since the Shift and Attitude Shift.
the virtual energy did not replace the virtual gravity or the gravity shift. the virtual energy is a hyrbrid coverstock thats designed to allow a cleaner glide through the heads than the virtual gravity, how ever controling the midlane greater than that of a gravity.
I just took a look on Storm's website and they no longer list the Dimension in their master line. Does this mean they are going to be introducing new balls to replace the Dimension and Second Dimension soon?
ok the gravitys were out the same time as the dimensions. they didnt replace anything and you dont know what youre talking about. completely different line
how in the hell can a pearl replace an extremely dull solid? the energy was designed to compliment the gravity on lesser volumes of oil, when the gravity was too much ball. i.e a house shot.
i know what you said, because i speak english. you said the VE replaced the gravity, which is incorrect and you're wrong. the energy is a PEARL resin. the gravity is a SOLID resin. they were released to compliment each other. the gravity is an extremely dull solid resin designed for long patterns and HEAVY volumes of oil. the energy is a step down from for when the gravity is too much ball.
YOU go re-read what i said, because you have no idea what you're talking about.
@Taz86 the gravity shift is not a solid the virtual gravity is the solid the virtual energy is a hybrid and replaced the gravity shift was discontinued and the virtual energy replaced the gravity shift
THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAID STUPID! YOU SAID "I THOUGHT THE VE REPLACED THE GRAVITY"! that, to any normal person, would mean VIRTUAL gravity, not gravity SHIFT. the VG is referred to simply as the "gravity", the gravity SHIFT was a different line and would be referred to as gravity shift.
you don't even know what the hell you're saying. the virtual line replaced the shift line, yes. you're an idiot.
@Taz86 YEA THE VIRTUAL ENERGY REPLACED THE GRAVITY SHIFT THE GRAVITY HAD THE SAME WEIGHT BLOCK AS THE VIRTUAL GRAVITY THE ATTITUDE AND SHIFT HAD THE STRONG ASYMETRIC CORE THEY CAME OUT WITH THE HD WEIGHT BLOCK THAT THE GRAVITY THE VIRTUAL AND THE ENERGY HAD
I AM RIGHT YOU ARE WRONG DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU ANSWER BACK
NO, YOU FUCKING IDIOT, YOU'RE NOT RIGHT BECAUSE YOU ASKED YOUR QUESTION WRONG! LIKE A MORON! YOU ASKED "DIDN'T THE VIRTUAL ENERGY REPLACE THE GRAVITY?" NO! @Taz86 YOU JUST SAID THAT THE VIRTUAL ENERGY REPLACED THE GRAVITY SHIFT. THE GRAVITY SHIFT HAS THE SAME SAME SAME WEIGHTBLOCK AS THE VIRTUAL GRAVITY. THAN YOU SAID THAT THE VIRTUAL IS THE SAME AS THE GRAVITY. ask any pro shop guy before you come screaming at me you obviously know nothing about the premere line of storm and btw the shift and virtual are the same premere line
OMG NO YOU FUCKING 14 YEAR OLD MORON! GO BACK TO FIRST GRADE AND LEARN TO READ! I SAID THE VIRTUAL GRAVITY AND VIRTUAL ENERGY ARE IN THE SAME LINE - THE VIRTUAL LINE, PART OF THE STORM PREMIER LINE! THE SHIFT LINE WAS THE PREVIOUS PREMIER LINE, STARTING WITH THE ORIGINAL SHIFT AND ENDING WITH THE GRAVITY SHIFT - THE PREMIER LINE THEN BECAME THE VIRTUAL LINE!
i know more than you'll ever know, because i was bowling 6 years before you were born. learn to fucking read you moron
@Taz86@brunswicksucks Be nice, people. Every ball from the original Shift to the Virtual Energy used a version of the Shape Lock core and were a part of the Premier Line. Both of you are actually correct for the most part. So let's get along and enjoy these great bowling balls! :)
And When I was thirteen shot my first 300. Absolute Inferno, ball soaks up a lot of oil tho, put it in the oven a lot. Kinda shitty. Not good for tourneys, mine was jokes league so kinda dry.
if you put your ball in the oven in your home (which is how it sounds) i'm sure you did it wrong and killed the ball. a bowling ball should be heated by a professional and with care. a bowling ball should never reach temperatures higher than 140 degrees farenheit
i have been bowling for about a year and a half now and im wanting a ball thats a bit more agressive than my current one(Storm Fast) and im trying to decide if the 2nd Dimension, Reign, or a Virtual Gravity would be best... i throw at 10th board at a slight angle
yea right now im 14 and i carry a 192 avg but for school but when i get on to places that have heavy oil compared to my home lanes im almost throwing a straight ball.
Get an Invasion. Balls beastly, really agressive. For heavy oil patterns in sport shot tournaments and leagues I stand on seven play up seven. Perfect line. I don't crank it either. More in between.
If you want something that will be real agressive and help you throw a but bigger hook the VG is a good one but I also recommend the Storm Invasion. Got me one drilled two weeks ago and alll I can say is BEAST!
honestly if youre only playing a slight angle and no hand its not gonna make a difference what ball you get. when you start opening up the lanes youll see a difference
This ball rolls diffrent. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. It's a good thing to have a ball that just bursts into the backend like this one does. You do have to make adjustments. After about 3 games with this ball and making a 10 board adjustment=279 I LOVE THIS BALL
how can help me out? i want drill my 2 nd demension but wich lay out creates the most revs??? my style is tweener mph 25 wone play the second arrow right, iam right handed. all ready thanks
i rolled a 245 my first game with this ball. i have a pretty aggressive drill on it for the back end. i have the dimension as well, and this ball compliments it perfect! I reccomend this ball for when you need a little extra push through the mids when your benchmark ball is reading them too early and you still want a hard reaction into the pocket, cause this baby packs some punch!
Im only 13, and this is only my second ball. but this ball is amazing. as an all round bowling ball its perfection and I am now a Storm user for ever!!!
The energy is a medium-heavy oil while the 2nd is medium, plus the cover stock on the energy is much better in my opinion, its a smoother roll, plus a much better reaction.
i would prefer the 2nd dimension, bcuz it has a nice clean finish and keeps the pins low...i just got one and the first day of my league tht i used it, i shot 223, 211, and a 245 and i average roughly 193...its ur decision, but i'm letting u knw thts wat i recommend plus it also depends on who's drilling the ball...let me knw wat u think
I have both and in my opnion i think the second dimension is the better ball. but the virtual gravity is still an amazing ball. I threw my first 300 game with the virtual gravity
This is one of the best balls i have ever thrown. Its really consistent, read the lane really well, abd its one of the hardest hitting bowling balls i have thrown. Storm is the best. Some pro shops told me that storm and roto grip are much better quality than ebonite, and i agree.
yester day i got a 254 with 4 bagger and then the 10pin...err...then 5 bagger then a 7 count! i think it being smelled apple pie was a calling for me to get it! XD
that sounds like its gonna be a good ball when it comes out. im still considering either the Fast or the Furious. im pretty sure im gonna get either the 2nd Dimension or the Street Rod pearl when i get this tournament money i won
i have seen and owned a couple used balls with that extra hole drilled in them. i still dont know what they are for. please inform me about it and if it really helps
you are aloud to drill o once off center if you drill any more than that you have to a just your ball and that is how they mak up for the differnce is drilling out a hole
your a moron, the extra hole is due to having too much weight in one quadrant of the ball, top right, top left, bottom left, bottom right, theres other technical names but lets not get into that lol. if you ahve too much weight to be legal, you drill one to take weight out. you can also drill weight holes in certian spots to change the reaction of the ball
I believe if you drill more than a ounce off center that would make one side heavier .If your a left handed bowler it would be to the left side of thumb and fingers and the right side for a right handed person.I said it just the same as you did but you are one of the people that thinks everyone else is stupid.because you are so smart.go to your shop and the main reson is because the had to balance out the difference that they drilled to far right or left of center .
I think the 2nd dimention is a better ball than the virtual gravity got both balls i feb and love the 2nd dime would sale or trade my virtual for another 2nd
John Congdon I want one of those cool blue with purple swirls thumb molds like the one you made for this ball. I want to put it in a Rogue Cell. Would it be possible for me to get one from you dude? They look freaking awesome.
i got mine drilled similar to tony's in this one. except i didn't put the cg so far right so i didn't need a weight hole. ball is a monster. the hy-road is a good compliment to it.
Also, does this ball hook about the same as the origional dimension, or is it a little less? I know it's got more skid and snap to it, but is the overall hook about the same?
the 2nd dimension has ridiculous backend, i bowled in the NYS high school states, and the lanes were drenched, anyway i seen a kid use it and 1st game it was coming back so strong, i used a storm virtual gravity and i was playing straight up. the dimension has more overall hook though
dude seein that guy bowl makes me wanna buy it more because it shows how much forgiveness the ball has because john doesnt do the same thing everytime like halstrom or ruocco he put it out really far and pulled in and had it hold i mean the shot has a lot to do with it but still pretty forgiving and john is comin along
You have to understand that these reviewers are the best on youtube because they show all 3 main releases between the 3 bowlers, the last guy is actually a great example...
eh, he might not be that good, but since I don't put a lot of revs on it, it gives me the best idea of what the ball is going to do for me. All his shots might not be great, but if you just pick out the good ones you can get a good idea of what the ball is going to hook like for a stroker.
a pearl is later break point than a solid it comes in handy sometimes depending on the oil pattern i myself love pearls i can get a better smoother reaction out of them
Hey once again one of the first to review a new ball. This really helps as I know what storm says it does but it is always better to see how it really reacts. Thanks!
John isnt bad, his style is just different. I mean yes a 188 average is just decent, but they wanted to show a lower rev bowler for people that have low revs to know what the ball would react like for them. 3 good symmetrical balls: Raw hammer Acid, Storm Dimension, Raw hammer psycho, not too hard, symmetrical are still good, just they are made to be smoother than assymetrical.
Hell yeah baby. I like seeing their 3 contrasting styles and what the ball does for each style. That is cool as hell. Man that Tony Ruocco guy just crushes the pins though! Shit I wish I could bowl like that. Very nice man. But yeah I like that they show the three different styles on all of their vids. Excellent.
why is that retarded guy John Cogdon with a 188 average and a terrible throw in every one of these vidoes, the other guy who cranks it is good but the John guy is just trash
you only listed one Symmetrical ball in the Dimension... Out of symmetrics, id look towards the Dimensions, Raw Hammer Series, most of Columbia is symmetrical, anything with the V2 core
I want length with clean midlane and strong angular backend with control. I want't bowling ball like Total nv i i have NVD but it hooks a lot. I need the same motion but on medum oil or everything without Heavy oil. I really like my total nv i have it 2 years ago and it still hooks hits hard The agerage is good. The MoMentum looks very nice the 2 Dimension Too Playmaker too. Any Ideas :)???
I would have to say, that you should look at the Cell Pearl. This may not be a lighter oil ball, but probably would work for medium or so.. I havent heard anything bad about it, and my friend says it is really clean through heads, but strong and controllable backend. Check it out. Ask your local pro-shop what they think too.
If you want something with good length and strong backend i'd say go with the cell pearl, black widow venom, or i have a hy-road with a negative pin layout. pin over middled finger Cg kicked 45 Degrees to the left. (i'm a lefty) increase length but the backend is strong. Unless your center is a med-heavy pattern you would have to put the dimension away after the first game same with the nvd. The playmaker seemed to need alot of maintenance and only last about 75 games before it died
Storm sent me an email they said it was crazy how much steam this ball got a month before expected release...they haven't even admitted to it to the public! the only pro that would talk to me about it was Rhino Page! lol good stuff
Yeah no kidding! I thought they used to have a bowler with a 220 average. That was him huh, Brian Halstrom. Well, shit happens man. It's probably not easy to perform at such a high level and then to have to try to maintain it. At least he's honest. Poor guy I feel for him. But I'm pretty sure he'll be back up there in no time.
how would this ball react if brian got the pin under his fingers??

Im stuck between this ball and the Hy-Road. I currently have a Virtual Gravity and I need something to compliment it...
iconz116 2 years ago

spankydubbs 2 years ago
I think the 2nd dimention is a better ball than the virtual gravity got both balls i feb and love the 2nd dime would sale or trade my virtual for another 2nd
rhinmo 2 years ago
I have this ball since the last sunday and it is a controllable beast :)
chiller4everrr 2 years ago
Great coverstock!!! Try 2000 if it skids too much for you.
bocabgob 2 years ago
It seems like Congdon has 20 boards to play with with every ball he reviews, why does he only average 188.
If I had as much hold and recovery as he does, I would average 235 instead of 218!!!!
phorcajo 2 years ago
He might release it inconsistently and therefore be a horrible example to use on a ball review imo.
Avengist 2 years ago
Or it could be that the lanes are so walled up, even Stevie Wonder could score on them
phorcajo 2 years ago
John Congdon I want one of those cool blue with purple swirls thumb molds like the one you made for this ball. I want to put it in a Rogue Cell. Would it be possible for me to get one from you dude? They look freaking awesome.
trueblu8 2 years ago
i got mine drilled similar to tony's in this one. except i didn't put the cg so far right so i didn't need a weight hole. ball is a monster. the hy-road is a good compliment to it.
ffsuperfreak 2 years ago 2
Cx6Productions, if a ball has more revs, it probably hooks MORE, you dumass
bcbcharlie36 2 years ago
wana bet dumass? Change the surface!

This song is used on a couple of their videos, anyone know what the name is?
alaphere 2 years ago
it says it at the end of the video
bigredxx 2 years ago
Also, does this ball hook about the same as the origional dimension, or is it a little less? I know it's got more skid and snap to it, but is the overall hook about the same?
waddleman 2 years ago
its my understanding that the 2nd dimension has MORE hook, but not by much.
NGC500 2 years ago
the 2nd dimension has ridiculous backend, i bowled in the NYS high school states, and the lanes were drenched, anyway i seen a kid use it and 1st game it was coming back so strong, i used a storm virtual gravity and i was playing straight up. the dimension has more overall hook though
jdaust57 2 years ago
this ball rocks. it rolls, hits and kills the pins.
yoshiharu26 2 years ago
i dont think the last guy is bad at all! his ballisnt as fast as the others but hes not that bad!
i really wants this ball bad! someone told me if u have alot of rev on the ball it doesnt turn....wat does it mean???
Cx6Productions 2 years ago
Im sorry, but the last guy that bowls sucks
If their trying to show if a ball is good or not and that guy is bowling, then no ones gonna buy it
bcbcharlie36 2 years ago
dude seein that guy bowl makes me wanna buy it more because it shows how much forgiveness the ball has because john doesnt do the same thing everytime like halstrom or ruocco he put it out really far and pulled in and had it hold i mean the shot has a lot to do with it but still pretty forgiving and john is comin along
ebonitemorich 2 years ago
You have to understand that these reviewers are the best on youtube because they show all 3 main releases between the 3 bowlers, the last guy is actually a great example...
collectingking 2 years ago
eh, he might not be that good, but since I don't put a lot of revs on it, it gives me the best idea of what the ball is going to do for me. All his shots might not be great, but if you just pick out the good ones you can get a good idea of what the ball is going to hook like for a stroker.

damn the backend is WICKED
slimpickinz420 2 years ago
Yea, you need front 10. If you only get the first 9, the highest possible score is 279. Its impossible to get 288 with only front 9.
awsomecool123456789 2 years ago
strike!!!!!
gusijuiceone 2 years ago
Storm Second Dimension is bad-ass. I threw one today, and shot the front 9. My score ended up being a 288.
Hamm3r300 2 years ago
Im pretty sure you cant shoot 288 with only the front 9
awsomecool123456789 2 years ago 2
ya u need front 10 or else no

does a pearl coverstock bowling ball do alot better on dryer lanes than a solid reactive?
tejanoparasiempre 3 years ago
Yes it will help you when the lanes are in the transition stage.

thank you very much
tejanoparasiempre 3 years ago
what's the difference between a pearl coverstock and a solid reactive bowling ball.
tejanoparasiempre 3 years ago
a pearl is later break point than a solid it comes in handy sometimes depending on the oil pattern i myself love pearls i can get a better smoother reaction out of them
leecross308 3 years ago
I think yalls reviews are great, but can you cut the crappy background music, whats wrong with the sound of the ball hitting the pins?
TranswarpXL 3 years ago
Hey once again one of the first to review a new ball. This really helps as I know what storm says it does but it is always better to see how it really reacts. Thanks!
showtime24071976 3 years ago
John isnt bad, his style is just different. I mean yes a 188 average is just decent, but they wanted to show a lower rev bowler for people that have low revs to know what the ball would react like for them. 3 good symmetrical balls: Raw hammer Acid, Storm Dimension, Raw hammer psycho, not too hard, symmetrical are still good, just they are made to be smoother than assymetrical.
00bravesfan 3 years ago 2
Hell yeah baby. I like seeing their 3 contrasting styles and what the ball does for each style. That is cool as hell. Man that Tony Ruocco guy just crushes the pins though! Shit I wish I could bowl like that. Very nice man. But yeah I like that they show the three different styles on all of their vids. Excellent.
trueblu8 3 years ago
why is that retarded guy John Cogdon with a 188 average and a terrible throw in every one of these vidoes, the other guy who cranks it is good but the John guy is just trash
lpcskater23 3 years ago
looks a little jumpy at the breakpoint... How does this matchup to the wildride and the rattler? just curious! =)

Hey tell my three good Symmetrical balls

xImp3rf3c7x 3 years ago
nO THANKS i WANT something from Ebonite Storm or Columbia 300
BM2504X 3 years ago
How about the Storm Virtual Gravity, Storm Dimension, and Storm Paradigm Passion?
xStormxBowlingx 3 years ago
you only listed one Symmetrical ball in the Dimension... Out of symmetrics, id look towards the Dimensions, Raw Hammer Series, most of Columbia is symmetrical, anything with the V2 core
svstar34 3 years ago
Yeah maybe I'm thinking about Momentum :)
BM2504X 3 years ago
The momentum is a good ball, but try the momentum swing, heard its pretty great too. What are you looking for in your balls reaction?
00bravesfan 3 years ago
I want length with clean midlane and strong angular backend with control. I want't bowling ball like Total nv i i have NVD but it hooks a lot. I need the same motion but on medum oil or everything without Heavy oil. I really like my total nv i have it 2 years ago and it still hooks hits hard The agerage is good. The MoMentum looks very nice the 2 Dimension Too Playmaker too. Any Ideas :)???
BM2504X 3 years ago
I would have to say, that you should look at the Cell Pearl. This may not be a lighter oil ball, but probably would work for medium or so.. I havent heard anything bad about it, and my friend says it is really clean through heads, but strong and controllable backend. Check it out. Ask your local pro-shop what they think too.
00bravesfan 3 years ago
ok thanks :)
BM2504X 3 years ago
no problem. I am either getting the cell pearl or an acid myself. =)
00bravesfan 3 years ago
pearl all the way
lpcskater23 3 years ago
If you want something with good length and strong backend i'd say go with the cell pearl, black widow venom, or i have a hy-road with a negative pin layout. pin over middled finger Cg kicked 45 Degrees to the left. (i'm a lefty) increase length but the backend is strong. Unless your center is a med-heavy pattern you would have to put the dimension away after the first game same with the nvd. The playmaker seemed to need alot of maintenance and only last about 75 games before it died
lilk248705 3 years ago
U r the first to review this ball on youtube! Looks great!!
DaveBais 3 years ago
Storm sent me an email they said it was crazy how much steam this ball got a month before expected release...they haven't even admitted to it to the public! the only pro that would talk to me about it was Rhino Page! lol good stuff

220
to 207
ouch
urbanshaft 3 years ago
Yeah no kidding! I thought they used to have a bowler with a 220 average. That was him huh, Brian Halstrom. Well, shit happens man. It's probably not easy to perform at such a high level and then to have to try to maintain it. At least he's honest. Poor guy I feel for him. But I'm pretty sure he'll be back up there in no time.
