ohhhhh thanks!!! my macbook does that noise when turning on too and i was really worried about it. now im no longer worried haha thanks people for the answers!!!
all sounds fine to me dose any1 have an answer to this though
well on my mac ox s macbook hd i have 2 accounts (guest and mine with pass) and i was on mine listening to youtube but then the sound stopped but only on youtube and now im on guest and it works fine plz tell me wats wrong?
The first two days i was turning it on it just made the chim sound when i started it, no disc drive sound. Then i loaded a disc, it must of been scratched because it wouldnt load . So instead of force quiting it i held down the power button for like 10 secounds and turned it off. After i did that , everytime i start it , it does the same thing... Disc drive noise I dont know if i fucked it up or not apparently not afer seeing all these comments what do you think?
if your HDD did that, that would mean you would need to get a new one cause that one is going to crash soon. but its just the super drive...^_^ as you can see from everyone here
Ho scoperto ke il problema era dovuto a Sophos Antivirus. dopo aver settato un pò di cosine è andato meglio. Magari anche altri antivirus possono creare un problema simile!
I forgot to mention that there is some strange problem with my 1999 iMac (note that it is old) but I think it's that OS X is damaged or something because 10.4.11 sudendly became more bright than it sould be. I think it's OS X becase Mac OS 9.2.2 doesn't look unusually bright. The processor 600 Mhz with 384 MB RAM
Your CD/DVD drive will either make this noise (Panasonic Matushita Optical) or something like a VVT VVT (Hitachi-LG Optical Data Storage drive). This noise is perfectly normal and it is just getting ready to accept a disk. Most slot loaders made for computers will make this noise.
It's just normal. The time you press the power, automatically the HD turns on and that's why it sounds like that. BTW love the bootup sound. And back to the topic, that's completly normal.
optical drive just starting up its not a startup sound.there is not real easy way to turn it off and if you did, it probably woulndt be a good idea, because you wouldnt be able to use it(because it would have never turned on in the first place)there are some programs on the internet that let you turn off the startup chime though. just do a quick google search, but some people have had problems with it so i wouldnt recommend it but what you can do is just turn off the volume when you turn it off
normal...
