They have no clue of what they are laughing at. Mr. David Suzuki must have this same impression of the huge majority of people that don’t “get it” because of their commitment to media and to consume. They are no longer citizens… they are consumers! Here in Brazil, the Senate just approved a law (Forest Code) that will be, in a short future, considered one of the harshest crimes against humanity. Many of us tried, like David Suzuki, to warn people to engage and don’t let this absurd to occur.

As shocking as it may seem it is a perfect imitation of our reality. The laughs hurt deeply as the blindness of the general public. How can so many people collaborate for their own destruction to the benefit of some very few corporations to make more money? This Comedy of Losers are the perfect image of a society that is disintegrating without their own knowledge of they are doing. I’m sure that if we zoom into each of the audience members, they are “normal” citizens and good intentioned ones.

@ak47catpeeler You've missed the point completely. I am a regular donor to the Suzuki Foundation. I think the man is indeed a champion. Sadly, much of his work is either ignored or disbelieved. I find it frustrating and often it angers me.

I asked myself how can David continually go up against close-minded fools and not get angry? How does he manage to not lose it when the government repeatedly goes against his recommendations?
