:( i use a shimano bait caster and an ugly stick... and love my spinnerbaits... im from ontario canada can i still enter i would love to learn new tricks from other fisherpeople.
I use a Falcon Lowrider XG heavy, with a Diawa twitchin Bar reel.. my technique is what i call the Flip'n skip.. i pitch low down and close to the water, and skip the bait on top of the water like a rock, it will skip back in pockets behind and under low hanging cover. It lets me get back in where the bass are hiding under the low branches and cover. Hasn't failed me yet. You gotta be careful though, you will backlash like there is no tomorrow unless your careful!
I like to flip a 7' black trick worm up against pilings and let them sink down deep. I also flip over logs lying in weed patches. they offer a natural break in the weeds for the big bass to stalk their prey.
I flip with a Kistler Magnesium TS 7'8" Heavy rod, Shimano Curado 201e7 reel, 20 lb fluoro, and anywhere from 3/8-1oz jigs and soft plastics. Beaver style baits in the grass are my favorite. Just pitch it out, let it sink, and hold on!!
I flip with 50lbs Power pro moss green. REEL: Quantum Tour KVD LH 7.3:1 baitcast ROD: Abu Garcia Veritas Casting Rod 7ft Heavy action. LURE: Punch Bait 1/2oz weight 5/0 Punch hook Punch skirt. With a hippo weight stop. I flip and heavy stuff i can find. Even lilly pads. It casts me some SLOBS ;)
I like to flip/pitch in to shoreline debris. It gives the appearance of the bait crwling in to the water. It has worked well too, even with non traditional baits like spinners.
When flipping, the type of structure that I primarily look for is heavy matted grass with holes and little pockets. Also, wherever the type of grass changes that is a hot spot for largemouth bass. The equipment that I like to use is a 7'3 MH Abu Garcia Veritas with a shimano citica reel spooled up with 50lb power pro braid. I typically use a 1/2-1oz tungsten weight that is always pegged with a bobber stop. When choosing the bait, I want something slim but also with a lot of action. Good fishing
skeet reese is a very good angler and ive learned a lot of fishing techniques from him, he is in my top favorite 3 bass anglers of all time, the bait created by havoc is going to be successful because it was designed by proffesional bass angler SKEET REESE!
I am in Texas, Im fairly new to the flipping technique. I use a 7ft heavy action ugly stick with a pinnicle series 100 baitcaster but one thing a guy taught me was this ...
when flipping back off your spool tension, bring the bait lower than your reel and release lightly in a pendalum fashion. I also rig mine different i rig my soft plastics with a 1/4 or 1/2 weight in a drop shot fashion..
Where I primarily fish for bass (City Park New Orleans home of the oldest fresh water fishing tournament in the US this years 64th Annual City Park Big Bass Fishing Rodeo) there is so much cover and grass it's almost useless to use anything else but soft plastic and flipping to the spot where the over 4 pound "big Bass" lurk. In those spots just flipping and retrieving will not be effective. You have to be accurate and hit pads, edges of the bank or limbs & coax the strike with the entry. POW!
I'm fairly new to bass fishing but I already swear by Berkley PowerBait worms, texas rigged on my Ugly Stik/ Pflueger President combo. I would love to be a part of this contest!
frist things frist, i love to flip and pitch, i use a 7'7 powell rod with a shimano Curado, i live up near the delta and i need all the back bone i need, i love to find maded grass and punch, ps skeet reese rules

Use 8 strand braid. YGK is smooth as silk and will make this technique so much easier.

My favorite flipping technique is to rig it backward because it swim back into that cover I can't get too.

I like to try and skip my bait as close to overhanging trees as possible, doesn't always work , I end up snagging the tree. Love the Berkley worms.
