Fuck me it's like a dick measuring contest in here.

It's all down to personal taste, imo eddie and chris are the better singers and allround frontmen, PJ are the better band, Soundgarden and AIC are both 2nd for me and nirvana and kurt were very much average and i wpuld not have them in a top 50 nevermind a top 4 or 5.

But that is just my opinion some people will agree and some disagree personally i could not give a shit what other people think.

I love both Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and I think they're two totally different bands as far as Grunge goes. It's like comparing Leonardo Da Vinci with Salvador Dali, one may be more iconic but they're both masters in painting!

@Monchi2006 No. Just... no. Don't get me wrong, Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time. Love grunge, and when it comes down to it, I prefer Pearl Jam over Nirvana, and just paid near $150 to see them a couple months ago. To put it simply: Pearl Jam is the best.

HOWEVER, Nirvana is iconic in a way that NO other band will be. Nirvana changed the music scene, and they basically invented grunge. They were iconic back then, and they're iconic now; wouldn't matter if Cobain was alive or not.

@JackChaos I agree with you. Nirvana is iconic. But they only "invented the wheel" because a young man named Andrew Wood died before Mother Love Bone had a chance to shine. Not saying they would have been as iconic or mainstream as Nirvana but MLB were the true trailblazers and ground breakers for what we call "grunge".

But Dave made it look so easy, when it sure wasn't! no u get me wrong,i dont want anyone trading shoes,what i meant was,that nirvana are considered legendary today because theyr not around anymore so all people can say is how good kurt cobain was,im pretty sure if Eddie had died instead of Kurt,then you'd be seeing all the Eddie Vedder t shirts in hot topic,and he'd be so legendary cause he's dead and not to many people would be considering Cobain "spokesman of a generation" or "god".I also think in 1992-1994 PJ was more popular than nirvana
