well... that will give you a LH for sure. You are right, my mind is blown.
This seems to suit Hamelin better than the Liszt HR #2 performance. He's just not "bombastic" enough for Liszt. I'm not putting down his playing at all--he's awesome. I just enjoy his Chopin moreso than the Liszt.
I agree, too. But if you listen to his performances of the more meditative Liszt, like Waldrauschen & Un sospiro, he really gets the full measure of the piece.

I don't think he ever gets anywhere close to the "full measure" of Liszt (or for that matter Brahms, Scriabin or Schumann). He's the greatest technician alive, but he plays like a 21st century Godowsky: glib parlour tricks to infinity, all roll no soul.
Impressionnant...!
Merci.

I´m still a little dizzy of t/his performance...
What for a greatly gifted person!
we should take him and his talent as a present,
and we gotta enjoy every of his movement to the last cranny and nook of the world!
...do I sound like a fanatic, somekinda weird guy?
Or is this only the fascination´s secondary effect?
However - I´m - as it is said in German - "baff"!
;) Thnx for uploading!;3

Must be a very difficult etude. Hamelin is one of the best pianists today.

I agree.
His liszt requires more fury. His playing is too smooth.

Hamelin is the man. These etudes are some of the most difficult in the repertoire.
