  • Are you kidding me? Why the hell would you let people up a wind turbine w/o being climb safety certified? And why would you not put the break the blades when someone is at the top? You my friend should be fired immediately.

  • enercon?

  • WHAT WOMEN WILL DO FOR A BLOW DRY

  • I guess you people that are worried about the dangers of being on top of that windmill also wear helmets in your vehicle?

  • cool

  • There should be a mile high club for wind turbines...who will be first to join?

  • @segarza there allready is.. Blue stamp club.. :)

  • I hope you all passed your wind turbine climbing courses at £400+ And no hard hats! Someone needs their arse skelpped! The ratio of the gearbox is probably 1:100 so the flexible coupling and the shaft will be death traps.

  • I hope you all passed your wind turbine climbing courses at £400+ And no hard hats! Someone needs their arse skelpped!

  • smart guy,a chance to spend the afternoon with some pretty girls, showing them the wind turbine is a chance at dinner and a movie with one maybe.

  • what a nice place to have a family picnic

  • No 1 in my family would go up there

  • Oh shut the fuck up, you gotta die sooner or later.

  • Where are u ppl from hoepfully not the US or if OSHA sees this video some1 can get in big trouble big safety issue while running!!!!

  • Mind if you take me with you next time you go so i can base jump off of it?

  • AAAAAAAAA the noise!!

  • base jump that B!

....this doesn't make me want to go to germany

  • apparently they wade slightly when running? o_O

  • Thats the stupidest thing anyone not trained or trained to be an authorized entrant could do! There are many hazards for someone to be in a turbine when its running. Even if its in wind sense or a test mode. WOW! this must be over seas.. I hope anyways..

  • @greatdivide29 Lighten up... you sound like a union guy.

  • thats the stupidest thing anyone could do. There's many hazards with a running turbine. Even in wind sense when it's pitched to a lower degree. Wow.. must not be in America

  • Wind turbines scare the crap out of me (some weird phobia of mine) and this takes the biscuit.. Ive no problem with heights, but you wouldnt catch me at least a mile from there lol :)

  • Id kill my self if i fell and was hanging on (not realy)

  • @bigdougo There aren't any reasons for running a turbine while technicians are in the tower and/or nacelle. Couping failures, runaways and hard stops are some of the dangers of being up while it's running. If the company you work for allows you to do so they do not care about safety. In 2007 a runaway Siemens turbine killed an E.M.S. technician in Oregon. Needless to say many technicians have had thier lanyards caught in the main shaft and high speed coupler pulling them in and crushing them.

  • @justincerveny we did overspeed tests on the ground, then went up to do blade pitch, brakes, etc. still dangerous and I do not do that anymore. I built that turbine in Oregon, the guy was a local tech from Goldendale, Washington just across the river from the site ( Klondike 3 in Wasco). so I understand the dangers, that's why I don't work for that company anymore.

  • OMG I didnt relize that those were THAT BIG. But im afraid of heights...id be shittin myself if I went up there.

were you wearing a safety harness or parachute? whats the orange thing you all wearing?

  • @Smokie181 We were aearing safety harnesses. But I have to admit that sometimes two persons' hanresses were connected by a rope.

  • Why on earthe are you running the turbine when people are up there? That was strictly against the rules whan i worked for Vestas..

  • @Lasselkv28

It`s still against the rules everywhere!! I build this things and even we can´t be inside when it`s running!

Do you guys have any idea of the danger of being inside a turbine running?? The person responsible for this "visit" could (and can) be severely punished for letting a group of people go up for some pics. It is completely forbidden to be on a turbine running. Small pieces can fail and seriously hurt someone not talking about the electricity running on those cables!

  • @vecorsmeister you build turbines? I commission them and you have to run them to preform all necessary tests but a tour? that is a little different. This could be in Europe where the rules are very lax, no safer, just not against the rules

  • @bigdougo You don't have to run them while being up tower. There's too much of a chance for a runaway. Safety regulations being written write now are going to prohibit running turbines while technicians are in the nacelle and tower.

  • @justincerveny That`s right! I`ve only worked once or twice inside of a running turbine and because it was really necessary. Otherwise it is strictly forbidden!

  • @RandomConcepts I happen to disagree with Mr. Mengel...

  • good place to smoke a joint

  • Why is the Turbine not stopped?

  • Wow, do you guys work on them or just found one and climbed up?

  • @slimj82 One of us knew the guy who owns the turbines and he took us up there.

  • freakin awsome, next time bring your base parachutes, finish the rush!

  • Are these people crazy /

They are not supposed to be on top of the tower, when the blades are spinning. They are not even supposed to be inside the tower, when the blades are moving.

  • omg thats like heaven...

  • um. whoa.

  • omfg that is like the scariest thing I've ever seen... yall could so easily of fallen off of that...

  • Except I just realized that yall were strapped in. Still... scary. lol

  • @Quebster are u dumb? they have safety a harness and are tied off to an anchor point....

  • @11windclimber lol yeah, I realized that after I posted that

  • @11windclimber are you the dumb one? bc you NEVER knew when those things could fail! they may test them, but they also test parachutes, and some DONT WORK!!! think about that before you start caling people dumb! K thanks!

  • @Quebster Ah, now THAT video I'd like to see!!!

  • What a nice place to set up an orgy! Get silly, hey!

  • Like Carbon said.. Whatever company that was should be shut down. .

I don't care if its 40 yr old men up there. It's running. your not supposed to be up there. The High Speed Shaft. Not to mention the High Voltage.... retarded.

  • Let evolution run its course.

  • ive seen worse..i visited one a while ago and two workmen were larking about and one of them tied themselves to the blade and went for a spin..said it was better than genesis at alton towers.................

  • dahhh you an carbon shut up and if your that dumb to be talking about what someone else does then you must be the retard and if you reply back to me you must be dumber then you look

  • HM... NICE PLACE FOR A PICNIC...

  • Who ever let you climb that turbine still running is very irresponsible.I have worked on turbines for 5 years and that will git you fired or worse killed. Can you imagine getting your harness caught in the high speed shaft and it pulls you in crushing and ripping every part of your body?It has happened.

  • I don't know where in the video you see children. The youngest person in this video is 21!

  • Nice, interesting to see this turbine was actually working when you visited it. I would think normally they would switch it off during a visit like this ! What kind of turbine is it ?

  • looks like a Vestas, trhen again, i could be wrong, many other companies make turbines to, i know in Rock Port, Missouri, they use SUZION turbines.

  • It´s a Südwind/Nordex S77 1,5 MW Turbine
