This is an amazing video, my best friend of 6 years was diagnosed with anorexia last year, she is still doing meth, smoking weed, taking pills, and trying not to eat, even though she is on a meal plan. I think shes going to die...I just wish she could see it the same way i do.

this is a great video...people should also be aware that the disorder called body dismorphic disorder(sp might be wrong) when most anorexics look in the mirror they dont see themselves as thin they see fat...i am fighting my own battle at 41 i have been suffering cycles of overeating and morbid obesity versus bulemia..alot of people dont realize the damage it does to your body...it causes you to lose your teeth as well as your hair and chemical imbalances..blessing to all of us who suffer

God, I'm really lucky that I'm alive and almost completely healthy (physically at least). Some of these girls died and were bulimic for less time than I am... :(

@selenesarah17 I am proud of you for going to recovery, and getting help. The thing is that you never know, when your body cannot take it anymore, it can be one last purge and one last binge. @elibeth121 Thank you but the thing is that I haven't recovered yet. I still struggle with bulimia but at least I'm trying to get better. But nobody knows about my eating disorder and it is hard to recover when you are on your own. I hope I'll get better and one day this will only be a bad memory...

Thank you for this video. I used to have an eating disorder and the only thing that saved my life was God(I truly believe in Him!) and the fact that I started at a very high weight. It seems like forever ago, but I still remember it.

thank you for posting this. im very sick with purgin type anorexia and have been for many years. the illness is so engrained that no matter how hard i try or hospitalisation i cant get rid of it. this video reminds me that i CAN die in my sleep. its horrible to see but the shock wakes me up. your video post may just save my life as it might someone elses. thank you. xx

Yes, wompi69, electrolyte imbalances are no joke. If you purge often/severely, or even if you just severely dehydrate yourself through restricting, the lack of certain electrolytes (potassium, sodium, etc.) will affect the rhythm of your heart and possibly cause it to stop beating. This can happen at any weight. I have had electrolyte imbalances caused by purging/dehyration from restricting and now have chronic heart problems from my eating disorder. Thank you for this imformative montage!

This is a very valuable video that all those who are pro-ana/mia should watch. Eating disorders are very serious mental illness that are driven by both psychological and physiological factors. Once body weight reaches a low level, rituals around food, purging and exercise are extremely difficult to reverse. This is because of the way the brain responds to starvation. Purging worsens binging, which worsens purging - a vicious cycle. Having almost died from anorexia myself I watch with sadness.
