  • Neville and Linda Rodstant... Classic.!!!

  • kay, i need help to find a pop song. sung by a man and a woman (both fairly high-pitched voices, smooth, not raspy), string intro, late 80s maybe, the beginning of the refrain sounds something like "baaad mary go bad", or "faaast baby go fast", sung by the woman. the guy sings the verses and finishes off with something blah "looove" LOL help :D

  • Loved it!

But I'm sure that wasn't Sheena Easton with Prince....

  • @thatkiwidude Sorry, man... that was definitely Sheena Easton. I remember that song well.

  • I think the 80s were the decade of duets!

  • Lord, now I'm gonna have to hunt up some of these old videos.

  • The worst duets of the 80's

  • No Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton??? =(

  • Great videos, THx for putting suddenly on there! One of my all times favs :)

  • @feanor22: I think it's because it came from a jam session, and Bowie & Mercury never performed the song together after that session.

  • Today's duets ain't got the same soul and they don't make 'em like this anymore! I'm tired of the rapper/autotuned female crap so prevalant these days! Even songs like Jay Z & Alicia Keys' Empire State Of Mind isn't quite the same. These songs make you long for simpler times; the slower tempos compared to the fast stuff in recent duets shows how simpler of a time the '80s were.

  • @www864 80's!

  • @mattandmack Run DMC & Aerosmith's duet was released in 1986. Or was there some unwritten rule that a rap group couldn't team up with the band whose song they were using in their turntable DJing that the original poster didn't mention.

  • awesome job! thank you for compiling!

  • you didn't even put the song's names

  • Michael& Siedah and Tina&Bryan the best!

  • I JUST REALIZED A TRAGEDY, YOU FORGOT UNDER PRESSURE!!

    DOOD! HOW!?

    It's fucking Mercury/Bowie!! xD

  • @feanor22 Yeah but wasn't Under Pressure a 70's song?

  • @thepen10

    Nope! '81

  • if you ever do a 90's one, you should DEFINITELY include Turner/Ramazzotti and MERCURY/CABALLET ;)

  • Clever editing on "Ebony and Ivory"--Wonder & McCartney actually filmed their segments separately. Kinda like Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald for "On My Own," another great 80's duet.

  • check out my new post.."trip thru the 80's in a tardis"..may be a few memory joggers in there...enjoy

  • Oh, man. Don't Give Up. Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush off the So album. This... man.... this song always kicks me in the gut. So beautiful.

  • JERMAINE & PIA ZADORA!!!

  • I found this interesting, and I thought I'd share it. I read in a book that in 1978, just prior to her forming the Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde help discover UB40 while working as a music critic. Kinda makes sense that she and UB40 would do a duet when they were both established artists.

  • 6:49

  • I love the 80's, some great duets there - AAron Neville & linda, Bowie & Jagger, Joe Cocker & jennifer, aretha & annie are some of my favs, pity they don't sing more duets now, harmonising is a skill. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for posting Olivia Newton-John and Cliff Richards. I love that song, and from one of my favorite Guity Pleasure Movies, Xanadu.

  • That was Daryl Hannah in that Jackson/Browne/Clarence Clemons video.

  • cliff richard and olivia newton john, prince and sheena easton, stevie nicks and tom petty...nice stroll down memory lane thanks meliberty.

  • Is it my imagination or were the videos and music of the 80's more positive than the videos and music of today?

  • Yes, I feel so Everyone seems to be. I don't remember much of the 80's because Iwas a little child but what I remember was good times. Good TV Programmes Such as "The A Team" and Street Hawk and The Misfit Of Science ( well Kind Of) Oh yes of caues Ghost Bustars Do you Remember?

  • Yeah. I was very young then too. Most of the video's from the 80's I've watched were on VH1 Classic as opposed to seeing them when they came out.

  • Nice work meliberty! A great era for the duets. Only one I can think of that didnt make the cut was the excellent duet "Baby Come To Me" by James Ingram & Patti Austin.
